On the contrary, invest in a super taper wahl clipper. It retails for about £50.

I don't barb gorimapa, I do the fades on the sides, friction my forehead and barb my hair correctly (you would think a proper barber did it). Practice makes perfect (been styling my hair myself for over 22 years).......

From start to finish, all it takes is 20 minutes. Clean my kit, apply my clipper refresher oil, pack it up and jump into the shower (must be shower gel and not soap).....
I want to be like you when I grow up.

So I loss big time today. Won't try this kind of adventure again for a very long time. Na God say make I carry my debit card today.
So at times after work, I just get on any bus get on the top deck and go round the city. Most of the time the bus brings me back to the same stop I boarded after going round the city, at times I alight when I sight anything of interest and still find my way home with Google map. This is my way of exploring the city.
Today the son of man enter oyibo "One chance". So I got on this bus and found myself inside one Bush near an airfield far outside town. I was busy taking pictures of old airplanes when I heard the driver calling " Last stop". I was like, last stop Ke, are u not going back to town? The guy said, no this is the last bus for today, the next bus is 7am tomorrow. Come and see how cold and heat catch me at the same time, wetin I come find for here. Finally I was able to get a cab back to town, that was after coughing out £20. Lesson learnt.
In other news, had my first haircut today. If somebody told me that one day I will use the equivalent of 10k naira for a haircut I will not believe. Those days of haircut every 2 weeks are over, watch out for my new Afro look. Got to stop thinking in naira before I give myself hypertension.

How person go de Carry 5000 naira coins waka about?
In order news, person go hear word for office today, all those "it's coming home people" go gentle today.

You would not be allowed to leave the airport without a transit visa......

If you don't have a transit visa, you shall not be spending £ or $ on any tours.....
Tours Ke, don't have money for tours now oh, I've not recovered from the funds I lost to my first visa refusal. I'm actually referring to the currency I will use to buy food and drinks if I need during the long wait at the airport. Will I be able to buy food and drinks with £ at the airport? I'm asking because I'm about going to the bureau de change so I want to know the currencies I will need.
Sorry if my questions sound naive, I'm a learner, its my first trip out of naija.

This summer prices are crazy expensive. Never knew summer peak affects Nigeria too! You will be responsible for your feeding and extra curricula activities mate except the delay is caused by the airline. If you have a very long layover in dubai i believe you can arrange a tour round the city with the airline arranging your hotel/ connecting flight to suit you- at a cost.
Thanks. Do I need to have some dollars with me or will pounds be accepted for my transactions?

About booking my flight, can't afford a direct flight now so I'm thinking of one of those one stop flights. I'm seeing some with as much as 6 hours layover in Dubai. My question is what happens during those 4,5,6 hours layover when you are in Dubai, Istanbul etc. Do u just sit in the airport or do they accommodate you somewhere. Are you allowed to leave the airport to tour the town while waiting? Who is responsible for your feeding during that period?

Congrats bro!

I was having this kind of conversation yesterday..Not telling her 'friends her travelling routine or new job or any good news...my friend said its becos of Oyinbo thinking...I really want to understand this...Do you honestly believe someone was responsible for this....what was in effect your own mistake
Thanks.
Not that anyone was responsible for it. As you pointed out, I admit it was my own mistake but they were those who were happy I made the mistake for reasons best known to them and their God. They were like; 'shebi them say that guy get work for UK, why him never go, person when no fit pass ordinary English exam, na him type de get work for UK?"
Point is if somebody didn't go and share testimony for me nobody would have known my travel plans nobody would have had the opportunity to say rubbish about the setback I experienced in the process.

To the glory of God, I got my passport today with 3 years tier 2 visa. I took the IELTS for ukvi, passed. Did my biometrics at Ikeja on June 8, using walk in and priority. Got my passport today, decision was made June 18 that's 7 working days.
Thank God my priority payment wasn't in vain but Ikeja show me pepper for walk in, walk in turned to stand out, they didn't attend to us until after all those on appointment had been attended to. Well all is well that ends well, decision was made on the day I would have had my appointment if I didn't use walk in.
Those UK people have chopped my money plenty, I must retaliate when I land UK, not coming there to count bridge.
Thanks to all that contributed to my matter.

We are in the same boat bro. I made the same IELTS mistake, the last one month has been the most depressing of my entire life, I was just waiting for someone to wake me up from that bad dream, but boy it was not a dream oh, it was reality, my tier 2 Visa application was refused for failing to meet the English language requirement. But thank God its all over now, got my visa on Thursday on my second attempt, with serious financial injury but lessons have been learnt the hard way.
Actually I have myself to blame, cos I actually saw the link for IELTS for ukvi and I chose the normal IELTS general, because the next available date for ukvi IELTS was too far for me, I opted for the closest IELTS general which was in calabar flew from Lagos to calabar for the exam passed and felt happy with myself, made my visa application and started counting my days in naija.
I got my passport back sometime in may and it was God that kept me from jumping off 3rd mainland bridge. What made my case so bad was that one oga in my office that I used as referee went yo share testimony for me in the office that I got a job in UK. so everybody was waiting for me to take off in June. When my visa was declined the news that went out was that I failed English exam, it was a very depressing period in my life.
Thankfully my UKNARIC certificates that got misplaced by NIPOST suddenly reappeared. I picked myself up, contacted my employer to shift resumption date, raised another 800k+ and reapplied this time using UKNARIC, didn't even have the cash for walk in or priority, just used standard and got a decision in about 11 working days.
One of the lessons I learnt is that if ur right hand gets a job abroad don't even let your left hand know, man is wicked, some are just waiting to hear that you have been put to shame and such people abound in my office. They won't even see my face there again, I have applied for my leave, they think I just went to hide my face, but the next thing they will see is my resignation, nobody will even know I have Left, all their calls go just de enter voicemail. Maybe all this happened to expose those that don't wish me well, but God pass them. Make I go arrange my load.

Expensive is relative..... The government provides the student loan (student finance) + fees also gets paid. But one would be in debt to the tune of £58,000 and debt does not get paid off if one does not earn enough or ports out....

All the above is obviously subject to qualifying candidates (before someone quotes me again).......
Choi!!! All this just to become a nurse? How much to study medicine? No wonder there's a shortage of nurses. If I be Briton I go just come naija come study nursing and return back after spending 5+x years in naija university.

Statement on Vanguard "Breaking News: JOHESU calls off strike''

A JOHESU Executive said: This info is wrong, the strike has not been called off yet.

We just left the court and we agreed that we would only call off the strike if the NIC is successful in its mediation as a neutral body BTW US and the FG.

If successful in 24 hrs we would immediately call off the strike.
But the strike is still on

The NIC also ruled in JOHESU's favor against the NGO "Kingdom Hearts'' that they have no Legal standing to demand for our return to work

Hello,

I am on the verge of completing my UK business visa renewal my question is after paying on the visa4uk.fco.gov.uk do i still have to pay during my interview and submission date at the TSL center, and if so how much do i have to pay.

what are the checklist and documents i need to submit to fulfill the visa application, i would appreciate if i get this checklist.

Thanks
Except you intend to use any of their value added services like walk in, VIP, priority which are all optional, you don't have to pay any other fee at the VAC, as per the documents, I believe a checklist would have been sent to you at one point in your application as related to your visa category, but aside the documents relating to your visa category, you go with a printed copy of the email for your appointment, email confirming payment, your printed completed application. Someone advised me to have passport photos with white background with me but it was never used.

Who said no mutual respect here. What are your colleagues here doing? What research have they concluded . Have doctors stopped them from researching too.

Pls do and go quickly your type is not needed here.

I have been oppurtuned to listen to both sides of the divide and have come to the conclusion that majority of the johesu members have no idea what they are talking about. No doctor heads the pharmacy unit or engineering unit or any other non clinical unit in the hospital. I was told there's a head nurse who is the director of nursing services.

The only grouse I have with the doctors is that thier cmds are criminals stealing from.govt coffers. If they were better organised all this crap wouldn't happen.

P.s your entire brain capacity at it's best will be infinitesimal compared to mine when I am asleep.

When I saw the bolded comments I had to look at your profile, and I must say I agree with you. Your brain is indeed very active at night when everyone is asleep. Maybe you thought this was sexuality section. Please shift to your "Ashewo beer parlor thread, you lack the ability to comprehend what people are saying here.

When you get there ask for the same pay as the doctors oh. Make sure you don't give up the fight.
If your brain was functioning as it should you would have looked at the demands of Johesu yourself to find out where they asked for same pay with doctors instead of falling for the propaganda of the minister of doctors.
Anyway, I won't need to fight any doctor where I'm going, over there there's mutual respect and the doctors over there are not so idle.
In my years of practice in this country I've come to the conclusion that the problem with doctors practicing here is laziness. While there colleagues in diaspora are engrossed in ground breaking research my people are busy fighting with admin officer on who is supposed to sign that memo, or the storekeeper on who controls inventory. I sorry for Nigeria. But thank God its no longer my business.

I've always known that this government is one of propaganda and lies but I never knew Nigerians were so naive swallowing their lies hook, line, sinker. I'm so glad I'm leaving this system for good. I didn't come here to argue with anyone, I just came to find out who has good travelling bags for sale so I can buy and pack my load out of this country, so please holla me if you know where I can get good travelling bags to pack my load. To my fellow Allied health professionals please stop wasting your time and data on this thread, leave them to continue to swallow propaganda, it is Johesu today, tomorrow it will be their turn. Your time can be better spent on Google searching out how you can leave their hospital for them, you are hotcake outside this country, I got a fantastic job after a 15 minute interview on Skype from my bedroom. Leave nairaland and find your way out of here, God that did it for me can do it for you.
As I was saying, who de sell travelling bag?

@sutelk

Estate agents must run checks and references before leasing out rents. 10days is almost impossible except perhaps you come across a landlord advertising in shop fronts or word of mouth. Depending on the city you're going to. Renting a room in an apartment/house could be easier
Thanks for your response, I'm actually looking at renting a room within a house, don't have money for an entire flat now. But I want something where I can pay per month as opposed to paying per day on Airbnb, or is it possible to get a room for a month without deposits?
My plan is to get a place through Airbnb for 10 days then work on getting a room through zoppla or rightmove within those 10 days.
If you know other better/cheaper ideas I'm open to it.

NB: I'm going to Cambridge. Thanks

Hello house, your learner boy needs some counsel.
Recall I am scheduled to resume early june and my offer covers maintenance but not accommodation. Another firm offers accommodation to employees at my place of work, no deposits just rent and bills. I have applied for this staff accommodation and I've been placed on the waiting list, and I've been waiting, in fact I have added prayers to the waiting, God alone knows how long I will wait. However, from my research on Zoopla and Rightmove, I discovered I could get cheaper accommodation (difference is like £30-£50 PCM) even closer (some even within 20/30 minutes walking distance according to google map) to work than the staff accommodation.
I was thinking of getting a temporary accommodation through Airbnb for 10 days, then use the maintenance funds to get a place outside staff accomodation.
My big question is, how practical is to get a place to rent within 10 days of my arrival in UK if I have the cash, are there other hurdles to cross besides providing the cash, someone once gave a hint of racial discrimination by agents? from my search on Zoopla and Rightmove, the houses are there but I dont know if its a different story on ground, cos if I have to stay more than 10 days on my temporary accommodation with Airbnb, that one na Gbese oh.
