You may have to look outside your area probably other states closer to you.

Thanks for your response. I'm in Lagos. The next available date anywhere is 24/03/18 in Abuja. But its academic.
I believe I need General for Tier 2 visa. But will the academic be accepted for visa purposes. what are the differences.
Thanks

Hello house,
I'm putting things in place to apply for a Tier 2 visa. as part of the English language proficiency requirements, I applied for a statement of comparability and English language assessment from UKNARIC. But there has been too much back and forth with my UKNARIC application. Though I have submitted the extra documents required I need a plan B.
The problem is the next available date for IELTS in and around my area is too far (may).
My questions are; is there any other English language assessment exam besides IELTS that is accepted by the UK visa authorities? Or is there any legal means of booking for IELTS after bookings for a particular month are closed, even if it costs extra?
Thsnks

I shared a post 2 days ago on new developments in Tier 2 visa, that MIGHT impacting your case. You should read this https://www.nairaland.com/4158866/living-uk-life-uk-immigrant/7#65192287
Ya, I saw that post, in fact I read every full stop and comma in that post cos that was what I suspected initially.
However, my profession happens to be on the shortage occupations list so I doubt if that's the real issue, something in their reply to my mail gives me the impression they haven't even started applying for the COS.
Let's assume there are no COS issues, how long does it normally take to process an offer of employment on the average?

Make una leave wife matter. At least Nigeria de export something. I advice you to patronize made in Nigeria goods/wives cos me I no fit shout. grin
In other news, To the glory of God, I got a conditional offer of employment January 31st. The conditions were routine stuff like referees, Health declaration and stuff like that which I met within 3 days of the offer.
But them getting back to me on the next step is taking forever. Fear even catch me so tay I had to mail them on Monday to be sure the offer of employment was still on. They replied me yesterday assured me there was no problem but they were working on some things which they didn't state.
I spoke with a colleague in the UK and he advised me to prepare myself for July sad
My question is what was your experience, does it really take that long to between the initial offer and finally landing in the UK?
Cos the thought of staying in naija till July is making afraid catch me.

Rejoice with me, I don get work oh. After almost 50 unsuccessful applications, and two interviews, I finally got a conditional offer of employment.
interview lasted just 15 mins 54 seconds via Skype in the comfort of my bedroom. Oluwa was surely involved. Still got two more interviews but this offer is my first choice and besides, I don tire for jerking. Had to bone social media and all for 2 straight months to face my book. But it paid at the end.
UK LOADING.
NB.
If you want to buy my other two interviews contact me let's negotiate, cos I need the pepper now.

22 hours mean you dont have power for just two hours everyday , it means for 92 percent of the day you have electricity and that means if I spend 1 hour in Ketu on Sunday I would experience electricity for 55 minutes 20 seconds at the worst case scenario..I will be there on sunday by God grace and I will spend over an hour just to burst your lies
Make sure you bring your deep freezer along when coming.
Power is good in that axis, I live around there.

Business / Re: How Do You Handle Angry Customers? by sutelk: 12:48pm On Nov 21, 2017
Bobugee:
Hello NL,

Please I need your advice. My name is Bob, I own (and work in) a Grocery store where I'm privileged to see and meet different kinds of people on daily basis. Both classic and classless, young and old, fresh and gowdy, overbearing and sentimental... Name it.

Sometimes, we see customers who are always bent on frustrating our lives, ranging from..buying stuffs and threatening to return the goods demanding for a cash refund after the goods might have stayed with them for some couple of days to buying and refusing to pay.

There's this woman, (not really a regular customer) who called and ordered for a full bag of Rice. After we had arranged and supplied the rice, she was supposed to make a mobile transfer to our account, she informed us that she had a minor issue with her mobile App which she was supposed to get fixed before making the transfer.

Being an old cash paying customer, we agreed to part away with the rice pending when she settle the matter with her bank, she would make the transfer, meanwhile she had already have our account number cos she used to buy stuff from us before.

One week slipped by, no response! Two weeks gone, I didn't hear from her. Then I became worried and put three successive calls through immediately after the fifteenth day of the supply to know why she hadn't make the transfer, she didn't pick my calls. I allowed her, hoping that she may call back when she sees my missed calls. As she was the busy type. But she never called.

I became perplexed. Being concerned for her safety as this was unusual. Alas! She was fine, hale and hearty.

The following day, I called again and she didn't pick. Then I subsequently sent a text message informing her that her debt has been marked as an overdue, (After I had enquired for her work, family and life) that she should kindly make the transfer to my account details that was attached below the text message.

Then she replied me almost immediately, telling me to stop bombarding her with unnecessary calls and to stop sending her silly texts, then I should learn how to be courteous when writing to my customers.

Yeeyyy!..... Courteous?, Silly?, Bombarding?, what have those words got to do with my simple, honest and innocent text message?

Well, having been in this business for long, I have been accustomed to handling antagonism with diplomacy. So immediately as I received her response, I quickly sent her another text message apologizing for "not being courteous on my text" as she put it. But here, I tried to read in between the lines to see where I got it all wrong but I didn't come to term with anything tangible...

To cut the long story short, from that moment I received her text, I chose not to call her again until whenever she made up her mind to pay.

Two weeks after, that was barely a month after the supply, I got a call from her. At first, she asked me why I don't want to give her a breathing space simply because she bought a common bag of rice from us? I was almost getting pissed, but I tried as much as I can and remained very calm but right inside me, I was deeply infuriated that I almost yelled at her.

I apologized again and assured her it won't happen again.( I have already made up my mind not to supply any other thing to her house without making payment upfront)Then she went further and dropped off the missile which was exactly what informed this post...

She said she's no longer buying the rice, that we should come carry it, owing to the fact that the rice is rebagged, half-full and substandard... All these she never noticed until after one full blown month. Jesu! And beside, the Rice I delivered to her house was an original Thailand Rice that's filled to the brim.

I simply said OK and hung the call, promised to call back to(morrow)day.

The question is...

How do you handle overbearing customers and what would you have done if you are in my shoes??

Sombody help!

Had a similar experience yesterday. I run a diagnostic centre. At times patients come for examinations and don't have the full payment but we accept part payment, issue a receipt stating the outstanding payment and trust them to pay the balanc e when they come for their results. Some never return, some return to start begging you to release their results.
Yesterday, I met the Queen of touts, this woman promised to pay the balance of 2000 naira when she returns for her results and pleaded that the examination proceeds.
This woman returned for her results yesterday when everyone had closed, denied owing me the 2k refused to produce receipts and insisted on getting her results or a refund of her initial payment.
At first I refused giving her the results without her balance, but this woman grabbed my shirt, by the neck and even tore it. She caused a great scene.
There is a police station close by and I thought of alerting the police but you and I know Nigeria police.
At the end I gave her results after some neighbours intervened, she left bragging that it was because she beat me up.
I felt bad and cheated but I left her for God.
To your case, I think you should count your loses as someone suggested, get the bag of rice from her without creating a scene, repackage it in smaller bags and recoup what you can.
This is the naija we find ourselves. Too bad.

Quit sounding like a broken record, tell your neighbor to start "Ajor" or tell him to ask people around, he will surely see someone that can loan him N100K at 10% interest rate. Or simply open a thread on a busy forum like Nairaland and ask for N100K loan with 10% interest, if someone doesn't loan him the money at that rate(terms and condition apply), come back here and insult me.

I dislike negative thinkers because you guys are like viruses that infect others with your negativity, your tailor told you such a thing and your brain couldn't figure out solutions for him, the next thing you do is to come to Nairaland to spread your virus.

Who forced you to buy pizza from that outlet? If Ali graduate from school, open pizza shop dey sell, people like you will not patronize him because you want to look rich by buying from a shop that taxes you so high. Can't you make your own pizza? Imagine someone paying N350 tax, your virus is strong.

Go and buy yellow box or save up for solar light, if you open a savings acct for this, in no time you will afford it and you don't need to pay bill any more, these are simple solutions. Also look into saving up for inverters so you can use both solar and substitute with inverter, you won't need to pay bills again and no need for meters, if light is your headache.

Abeg carry your virus commot for here jor.

One question for you? What are you looking for in this thread, what's your mission?
Correct me if I'm wrong but its like your mission is to discourage everyone that has any intention to better his or her life by moving to the UK cos all your posts are loaded with bitterness and lies, like say no be this country all of us de.
If you ask me you are the chief virus of this thread, I'm beginning to agree with the poster that said you were deported.
Abeg carry your virus commot from this thread make those of us when port see road. You are free to stay behind in naija nobody is forcing you to follow us.

Very interesting thread @op, thanks also for making it flow, else the lessons from the credit card discourse would have been lost. I feel what you have been through and am really encouraged by your decision, pls keep it comming though I know that work schedule will now make this not easy. However I would like to request a favour, from you, Justwise & other admin; kindly give us a thread on Tier 2 Visa applications, it is great to see that it is still possible to get sponsored to work in the UK from Nigeria. Some of us are not just too comfortable with the distance & cost for Australian PR or the weather for Canadian PR
Seconded. The existing UK visa enquiry thread is full of visitors and students. Getting Tier 2 visa information is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I was happy when this thread was created initially but that was short lived as questions on Tier 2 visas were immediately banned.
I think we deserve a thread for intending skilled UK migrants just as we have for Australia and Canada.

Hello, how can one find tier 2 sponsor job ?
Thanks
Can't answer for every profession, but I'm a health professional so I can find a lot on the NHS jobs site. Also discovered some A rated sponsors in the private sector recruiting in my field.
maybe the best way to start is by interacting with professional colleagues over there, they'll be in the best position to direct you.
There are also job sites like indeed, reed, monster etc but the truth is that they haven't been very useful to me, you can try them, they may be useful to you.

I know how many times my seed to my Man of God has wrought the miraculous for me, you can call me brainwashed or say it was luck, na you sabi. But if God bless me, I will not only buy private jet for my pastor, I will also buy him private airport. What I find amusing about all this is that the people giving the seed are sharing their testimonies, while those that can offer their children to babalawo to win contract will come to nairaland to bash Men of God.

Facts like; "you don't have the power to move this to front page" or "only lies about Men of God are worthy of front page"

Do you have A rated sponsor and have been given certificate of sponsorship by them?
No, nothing yet. Still planning stage. I've secured my practising licence, made some contacts with some prospective employers, chances of getting a job a very high.
I'm also aware some COS may cover maintainance and thus I may not require the visa savings but I just want to be ready in case my COS doesn't cover maintainance.

I'm planning to move to the UK via Tier 2 and I have a target date of Jan/Feb 2018. To raise the required funds for my plans I'm currently taking part in a monthly contribution, a.k.a AJO which I'm due to collect a lump sum at the end of December.
My issue now is with the £945 visa savings requirement, which must have been in your account for 90 days.
I should have more than the required amount by the end of the year but I'm aware any lump sum in my account will be an issue.
I'm thinking of getting a bank loan through my salary account and paying little amounts from the loan over the next 90 days, into the account I intend to present, and using the AJO to clear the loan before I leave.
My main question is "will they also ask for my salary account during my visa processing cos I wouldn't want them to find out I took a bank loan to fund my trip.

Hello house, being following this thread for over a month now but can hardly find stuff that relates to me, its like everyone here is a student or an intending visitor, very few people migrating.
I'm an Allied Health Professional, my profession is in the shortage occupation list (radiography) currently working on my HCPC registration, job seeking and finally migrating vier Tier 2, hopefully before December. I've read a lot about the Tier 2 visa and requirements on several websites also seen many vacancies online. But I just want to hear from those who have gone through this process before, I want to know their challenges and how they overcame them and what working and living in the UK is really like, don't want to run from frying pan to fire

please can someone direct me to a TIER 2 thread or any similar thread where I can get the sort of info I need? Thanks.
