Travel / Re: A Lagos Resident Decries the Injustice Of LCC Toll Gate Company At Lekki. by Suyaman2015: 3:30pm On Dec 05, 2017
So because of this thread I passed the toll again. Since I added 10k on my card. They had already removed 200 naira. They will claim that’s negative Balance from past etc right? Ok fine. 9800 is my Balance. I passed last night. I passed this morning. When I passed this morning it was saying 9468. So just now I drove through and it said 9168. When I passed the second time it gave me the same reading. I’m going to continue posting as I Investigate what’s going on.

I was just about to go to their office myself! I put 10k on the card on November 10th. I traveled for one week and didn’t go out another 5 days or so. I usually only pass two ways a day. On Thursday before the holiday I had Balance of 1600. I didn’t go to lekki a single time during holiday or weekend. On Monday it was gone!!! I loaded another 10k. Without passing even once 200 is already missing. Last night when I passed the Balance was 9800. Today the first time I passed it was 9400!

I have written for explanation but they don’t seem to have any system where you can track or verify the debits. They can only show you when you paid in but no other way to verify. This opens the door for serious scamming and fraud!

This needs to be urgently looked into! There has to be a way to verify if what you are being charged is accurate!

.. No Job after the Job.. cry kiss

cool shocked cheesy

PLEASE NOTE: THIS STORY IS FAKE AND IS DAMAGING AN INNOCENT GIRLS REPUTATION. I just got off the phone with the person who's photographs they used to post this nonsense. She dosent know anyone mentioned and has never met any of the other people she is pictured with and she is shocked. We have both reported the fake Facebook profile and trust Facebook will take it down asap

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF SOMEONE GRABBED YOUR SISTERS OR GF OR WIFES PICS AND POSTED THIS KIND OF NONSENSE?

Think about the story. Which sane human being would post this kind of information using their pic? Why does the fake Facebook profile have no post other than pics? Why was the profile just added in late February?

Nairaland @seun please note you are an accessory to libelous FAKE story as well as a potential cyber bullying case. You must investigate and remove this story immediately. There are both legal and police implications for failure to act and be responsible here.

Well then alert the real person so she can report to Facebook

I'm in the process of doing that now. I am personally reporting this to facebook as the person is my friend and this situation is unconscionable and scary. Also the mods from nairaland should be warned that this is a fake story and profile and should either remove this post or investigate. I can provide more details in pm and I can certainly prove this facebook profile is fake but do not wish to cause more harm to the persons reputation in doing so publicly.

This is a fake profile. Like I said in previous post I know the real person and this is not her page.

I know the girl in the picture and her name is not Kate James and she does not live in port harcourt and she is not from lagos. She dosent speak or write like the language in the post.

It seems like this is a case of online identity theft or catfishing or perhaps an attempt at character assasantion. If you notice the profile for "Kate james" was just created at the end of February. She dosent post or answer any of the comments on the pics and there is marketing post that point to an obviouslyfake profile.

This is very sad and alarming because someone seems to have stolen her pics and is posting rubbish this may affect the reputation of the real person. We all need to be careful about what we believe because anyone can steal pictures and create damage to Someones reputation in real life.

Literature / Re: Is Chimamanda Adichie A Racist? by Suyaman2015: 6:45pm On Nov 15, 2016
Her comment is silly. Of course every race experiences racism. In the last 10-20 years white Zimbabwean farmers across the country had their farms taken over by mugabes government because Of their skin color. At this same time Indians and other races experienced a similar ejection from the country. All assetts from many generations of ancestors living in Zimbabwe seized simply because they were not black.

Are you saying they don't know what racism feels like or can't understand it? This is in this generation not hundreds of years ago. How many blacks in america have had their assetts seized simply because of their skin color.

There are many other examples in Usa (police being killed because they are white) and many other places including South Africa today of similar aggressions against white people based on race.
Business / Re: Dollar Scarcity Pushes Naira To 352 by Suyaman2015: 1:52pm On Feb 17, 2016
I have been to all the banks where I have accounts, called all the account officers, heads of branches I know and NO ONE has BTA! I have a legitimate small business that brings forex into the country from foreign clients. We are a service business but most of our clients are in Nigeria and I need to travel and buy equipment and use forex for legitimate business operations. It is only people ignorant of real world operations that think that it is easy to get the naira at offical rate. The Majority of us doing legitimate small to medium business CAN NOT get money at the offical rate. If anyone has real world experience (not theoretical concepts) about how to get naira at offical rate to pay for international services, travel, equipment repair, purchase of small equipment please do share with us. This naira devaluation is driving us out of business, because our clients cannot pay more for our services at a time when there isn't much money circualting and if something is not done fast my 11 staff will be out of work.

And I am supposed to believe the trash you posted up there? So you think the average black man in whatever country you came from is treated half has decently the way you are treated in Nigeria. Stop trying to pull a wool over our eyes, even a newborn child knows that oyinbos are treated with special privileges in Nigeria which is unearned but due to the legacy of slavery, colonialism etc which have made blacks to be psychological damaged.

There are over 2 million Nigerians living in the country I come from. Many of them are very successful in their fields and they remit more than $1 billion dollars back to nigeria in a year. The country has been very good to those who work hard to succeed. Many of them buy properties and build houses back in nigeria with the money they earn from their careers. I think most of them are treated fairly and they are given the chance to succeed. I know many nigerian doctors lawyers businessmen who dont complain of being treated poorly in my country.

Anybody with light skin for Nigeria na Oyibo, Arab na oyibo, Asian na oyibo, Somalia na Oyibo, Chinese na Oyibo.

When you go to their country they treat you like sh1t, but when they come to yours you treat them like mini gods, at our airports any body foreign goes thru fast track.

What is wrong with Nigerians "inferiority complex"?

I am an "oyibo" living in nigeria and I have followed several conversations recently where racism and misconceptions are encouraged and hate speech goes unnoticed or unchecked. I fly into the airport and can assure you that there is no advantage to being white coming into the country. The "foreign" lines are longer. And the authorities typically single any forigner out for inspections, and look for any excuse to hassle or ask for money. There are those who get fast track by paying protocol officers and bribing their way but there are equal numbers of people doing that regardless of race or nationality.

Just as people here claim foreigners are given special treatment and privileged it goes both ways. Because of my color which I can not hide I have been singled out by police, lastma and other authorities countless times simply for be an "oyibo". One can't walk down the street without numerous people calling out oyibo. I have been verbally and physically assaulted several times by people with chips on their shoulders simply for being a foreigner in their country. While nigerians constantly breaks the rules oyibos are held to higher standards and there is always someone ready to be a hero and call you out and make a scene.

All these statements made about white men being treated like gods in nigeria has not been my experience and I've traveled expensively through out the country and lived here for many years.
