Crime3 Container Thieves Apprehended At Lagos Port (pictured) by SWAGGAVILLAGE(op): 6:58am On Aug 01, 2015
https://newngrguardiannewscom.c.presscdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/CONTAINER-SUSPECTS-1-8-15-Copy.jpg
Members of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad,
(SARS), at the Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos,
have arrested some thieves who specialize in
stealing containers loaded with goods from the
Apapa Wharf and Tin-Island Port.
Five hundred cartons of drugs were recovered from

three of the thieves. The Guardian gathered that the
suspects who were identified as Emmanuel Onyike,
51; Alabi Daudu, 68, and Paul Aina 58, were
apprehended after they stole a 40ft container
loaded with pharmaceutical products valued at $
200,000, belonging to United States Agency for
International Development (USAID).

Sources disclosed that a petition signed by a
representative of the agency, Bankole Michael, was
sent to the Assistant Inspector General of Police,
AIG, in Charge of Zone 2, Mbu Joseph Mbu,
alleging that he contracted a transport and
logistics firm to deliver the drugs at the warehouse
of Society for Family Health (SFH), Sango Otta, but
the drugs were diverted.

The AIG was said to have directed the officer in
charge of SARS, Peter Gana, to investigate the
matter. A source who spoke with The Guardian on
the condition of anonymity, disclosed that a
member of the syndicate was trailed through phone
tracking to Ikorodu area of Lagos State, where he
was arrested.

He was said to have confessed to the crime and
led SARS operatives to arrest Paul and Alabi in
their hideouts.

“Onyike also mentioned one Babawale, Ikechukwu,
Shola and Alhaji. He led us to a warehouse in
Igando area of the state where 500 cartons of the
drugs were recovered. Our investigations have so
far indicated that the syndicate operates fake
transport and logistic firm at the port and they
usually divert goods from their destination
whenever they get contracted,” the source said.
Meanwhile, when The Guardian interacted with the
suspects, Onyike, who is an amputee, confessed
that he was new in the business and he joined the
syndicate because he needed money for his
upkeep.

“I am a native of Owerri, Imo State and I lost one of
my legs last year in a car crash. One of my friends,
Babawale got me involved in this business and he
promised to pay me N500, 000, if I can help him
get a warehouse where he could store the goods.
“I knew a man who has an empty warehouse in
Igando and I approached him. I lied to him that the
goods belonged to a friend who lives abroad and
he accepted.

“I don’t know how Babawale and others stole the
goods from the port, but the money they promised
to pay me after the sale of the goods was what
lured me into the business,” he said.

Jobs/VacanciesMicrosoft Fires 34 Out Of 40 Nigerian Staffs by SWAGGAVILLAGE(op): 4:46pm On Jul 31, 2015
Microsoft on Thursday sacked 34 (85 per cent)
of the 40 employees in the Nigerian office of its
phone division.
The sacking came 24 hours after the company’s
latest Windows 10 was made available in
Nigeria and 189 other countries.
Employees at the Nigerian office were silent on
the matter, but a source said that the
downsizing was part of the global decision of
Microsoft to streamline its phone division.
The source said the sacking was in line with the
massive layoff of workers “sweeping through the
global offices of Microsoft’s phone division.”
The Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft, Satya
Nadella, had said in a memo to all Nigerian
employees in late June that “the company
needed to make some “tough choices” in areas
that were not working”.
The memo had stated that 7,800 jobs would be
cut from the mobile division working on
Windows Phone hardware.
The e-mail from Nadella to all employees, which
was made available to our correspondent, read,
“We are moving from a strategy to grow a
standalone phone business to a strategy to
grow and create a vibrant Windows ecosystem,
including our first-party device family.

PoliticsBuhari Orders Release Of #5 BN For Blast Victims by SWAGGAVILLAGE(op): 4:33pm On Jul 31, 2015
SWAGGAVILLAGE:
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the
Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi, to
facilitate the immediate release of the N5 billion
pledged by the Federal Government since August
2014 for the Victims Support Fund (VSF), the
presidency announced Friday.
The fund was created to support victims of bomb
attacks.
President Buhari gave the directive after receiving
a briefing from the VSF Presidential Committee
headed by former defence minister, Theophilus
Danjuma, at the Presidential Villa.
Mr. Danjuma told the president that out of the
N55.92 billion pledged at the fund-raising dinner
for the fund in August last year, N33.54 billion was
still outstanding, including N5 Billion from the
Federal Government.
He said the VSF currently has N23.33 billion in
four bank accounts.
Mr. Danjuma urged the president to use his office
to persuade all organizations and individuals to
honour their pledges to the Committee.
The directive came two days after PREMIUM TIMES
reported how the funds had not been deployed to
provide needed help to victims, nearly a year after.
The committee had also told PREMIUM TIMES how
several wealthy Nigerians who made pledges failed
to redeem them, and how former President
Jonathan directed that the funds should not be
released for operations already handled by the
National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
Mr. Danjuma told President Buhari that the former
president gave approval for the funds to be
incorporated into a Trust Fund, to “insulate it from
political interference”.
President Buhari urged the Committee to ensure
proper coordination with other government
agencies providing support and assistance to
victims of terrorism.
The president assured Mr. Danjuma and members
of the VSF Committee that his administration was
taking proactive steps to defeat terrorism in the
country.
He said that despite the challenge of acquiring
much needed strategic equipment and weapons to
confront the terrorists, the Nigerian military has
recently gained much ground in its effort to defeat
and degrade Boko Haram.
He added that the full deployment of the Multi-
National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), under the
auspices of member-states of Lake Chad Basin
Commission, will further boost ongoing military
operations against the insurgents.

First of all, mods make una no vex for me o..I know I posted in the wrong section but temper justice with mercy sha.

OK ..so the final year mass communication department of _____ jos were to write a test today,we were informed earlier sha,the woman was a very strict woman,I can boldly beat my chest to say she is the most strict lecturer in my stay at the institution. I totally forgot about the test until i messaged bae on whatsapp yestwrday night and she replied me with "go read, test dey tomorow" ,test kwa?? I asked ,yes na,mass media and the society test, was her reply!!
Choi,i taught to myself, this woman wey don dey pursue me from class since how many weeks because of dress code,I Don explain to this woman say my marron shirt Don dey too tight me,in fact e no dey enter me again but d woman see am as story for amadioha,na C.O tins b that oooo,I screamed alone in my room while looking at my mass media text book.
I go enter market tomorow b that go buy new maroon shirt,I taught as I read the text book from cover to cover,in fact, even the preface, introduction, acknowledgment, about the author, all I read am just to avoid this woman wahala, our MACCOSA group on whatsapp which is always bubbling with messages disturbing me and sucking my battery was as silent as a phone that has ran out of subscription, in fact, for a moment,I taught my phone was off, everyone was busy helping him/herself.
Morning don break,na so I look the last card wey dey my body hit d road enter market as early as 8:30 am ,shops never open sef.i go jam one aboki man for one shop like that,Aboki!! Kana da maroon shirt? I screamed as o asked him if he had a maroon shirt, akwai, the man answered, bring am make I see,na so d man bring one big okrika caftan say na marron shirt, ahhh ahhh, this one too big,I said,he said that was the only available one ,I looked forward to other shops, there were closed,I checked my time, I never even bath Sef ,just then,a sharp pain was what I felt close to my shoulder which reminded me of the hour and half gyming I just went through not too long ago, bani I told the man,we talked about the price and settled, and off I went, trekking back home because I no want spend extra doe,sha the market was like a 30 min walk from my house..

Finally, I arrived home, took my bath, wore the marron caftan my aboki man gave me,I looked at the mirror and for a second, looked at my back to see if there was another person behind me,cos the mirror was showing a horrible looking human masquerade (Lol) ,I soon realized it was me,I looked funny, tried different hoods, jackets and sweaters to see of I can hide the large shirt on me,but the back of the shirt was just flying up and down like a Lady in her wedding gown, nothing could hide it,I taught about taking it to the tailor but was reminded I had no time by the tick-tock of my wall clock,it was 10:36 already,i had a test by 12 and am still contemplating on what hood best covers my newly found dangling tail,i just bone talj say i dey enter school like that,if e pain anybody, make him go die (in oshomole's voice).
Off i went,to the school it was, getting inside the hall, the test was trending as it was on every lips,so no b only me,I taught, I find beta chair nyas*h down o.
Every one wanted to avoid carrying over that particular course cos they wanted to avoid that woman in anyway possible, her text book was bought by virtually all students in a class of almost 300.finally, the woman came in,she performed her weekly routine of chasing out students who were not in their dress code, in fact, even if u were maroon, as far as say no b packet shirt, she go pursue u,it got to my turn,I could see her looking at me but couldn't chase me today as I was properly dressed in my buba caftan like maroon, she lectured for some minutes and went to the white board as she wrote TEST boldly on it,she was one of those lecturers that gives only 1 test, even oduduwa can't save you the C.O if you miss it,our schools marking scheme is alarming, if u like get pass the required mark to move to the next level in the exams,as far as say you no do test or u get lower than the combined 15 marks for assignment and attendance, na carry over get you, back to biz,na so d woman shout, its an open test, you are free to use your text book, ahhh see people dey fear to open text book o even if them give them express permission to use it,na so d woman go back board write the question.
WRITE THE NAMES OF THE NEWLY APPOINTED SERVICE CHIEFS AND GIVE THEIR POSITIONS
Ahhhh see confusion on the face of many,"which kind question b this" was on the lips of many.na so I look my paper as if say e find my trouble, just then,I remembered this comment by BUYGALA on the chief of army profile thread.
