Music/Radio / Re: P-square-"do Me" by sweets(f): 1:40pm On Oct 03, 2008
i like the vid for 'do me'.
cant say the same for the words though, half of the time cant hear what they are saying.
ingawa there is a story to the song so its not completely conceptless.
yah, the white girl thing: am not racist but i alwez find black girls more appealing (my opinion) and with great bodies.
white girl? too thin, too flat, what is there to hold on too? undecided
we love P-square here in Kenya and we think they are moving in the right direcction.
my other fav song: Ifunanya!! kiss
Romance / Re: Love Letters by sweets(f): 11:06am On Oct 02, 2008
ha hahaaaa!!!
love letters. just thinking of them takes me back more than 15 years when i had just joined high school.
my 1st boyfriend/ exploit was a dare from the older girls.
i remember the 1st time he wrote me a letter i replied and one of the big words i remember writing is
"Henry, when i received your letter, i was Flabbergasted!!"
Honestly!! i dont think i would write such a word now but it sounded great then.
we wrote to each other every week for 3 years.
didnt work out though - my bad cry

Music/Radio / Re: "Imagine That" By Styl-Plus by sweets(f): 6:57am On Nov 18, 2006
Ala!!! ati stolen? there is nothing like stolen beats.
what u do with the beats is what is important.
e.g in Kenya nameless has done a song 'nasinzia' which has the same beats as a song by the group NIX (sura ya malaika). there is a Very big difference in the two songs. while they are both slow and sensual, nameless has taken the song (and beats!) to another level! its the song on everyones lips. 'sura ya malaika' is just now beginning to get under pples skin, si mbaya (its not bad).

so whether imagine that is stolen or not, what they did with the beats is what counts. i think its a beautiful upbeat song.
PS: how come none of the nigerian artists sell their music in East Africa? just heard Psquare the other day!

Family / Re: Is There Any Man Who Hasn't Ever Cheated On His Wife? by sweets(f): 4:11pm On Apr 02, 2006
i remember at some point i told him that i feel like am nagging and i hate nagging!
i talk alot but not about problems that am facing and he was making me frustrated becoz i had made concesions(sp?) for him and it seemed like it just wasn't working!! undecided
enuff about me. relationships are about some sacrifices and most of us unfortunately don't want to make them.
i don't want to compromise while someone else is going on with his life like nothing happened!
men should learn to talk about what they are feeling or experiencing, otherwise some of them just lock us out and we are left with no option other than voice our frustration!!
Family / Re: Is There Any Man Who Hasn't Ever Cheated On His Wife? by sweets(f): 2:59pm On Apr 01, 2006
that may be true, women do nag at times. maybe its because they are able to express their frustrations thru words or what.men are not known to best express what their are feeling.
communication is important in any relationship.my boyfriend and i broke up becoz he din't know how to react when we had problems. he would always keep quiet when i pointed out that we needed to talk about something!!
when we finally broke up that is when he told me that he never said anything for fear of hurting me!!
communication is paramount in any relationship or union.
Family / Re: Is There Any Man Who Hasn't Ever Cheated On His Wife? by sweets(f): 4:07pm On Mar 31, 2006
i have a friend who's father is a doctor. when he was 24 my friend discovered rudely that his dad had a parrallel family!
my friend has 3 siblings aged 16, 10, 6. the parralel family has 3 children all aged the same as these 3 complete with same names!!
oh the shame of men or is it folly!
i nelieve that all men are liars but am waiting for the one who will prove me wrong
Culture / Re: Yorubas In Nigeria That Can't Speak Yoruba by sweets(f): 3:47pm On Mar 31, 2006
i am kenyan of luhya descent. my mum is kamba but i din't learn the language from her!
it does not make me less of a kenyan.
i grasp languages very fast but i decided not to learn my dad's tongue coz of reasons i wudn't want to disclose here.this doesn't mean i cant hear wen people speak about me in my presence!!
i learned my mum's tongue from house gals we had wen i was young.
in any other circumstance, i wud be a kenyan who spoke only english and swahili(thank God atleast i know this one!)
the kids are not to blame. i don't know what language my kids will speak especially if their father will be of a different tribe and maybe knows very little of his own tongue.
i agree with Rof that parents who refuse to teach their kids their tongue for selfish reasons are wrong but that is not reason to castigate the kids who can't speak it!so faithsight take heart.

if dances by nigerian musicians is what i saw in olufunmi remix, then i dare say you have a long way to go. what in heavens name was that girl there (trying to) wiggle? shocked if you want someone to shake their bum get someone who has a bum or one who can shake the little they have of it!!!!! i danced the shuffle in 1992 in high school, no one should be doing it now!!! it only looked good in the near past when done in 'the bestman'. choreograph something else! get a small group of people to do a good thing.
