A thorough analysis I did about this VAT saga made me realise that the notion of accusing the North of delibrately cheating the south is a big lie.

If you doubt me then explain to me why Abia State in the South East receive #20 billion naira from FG but contribute just 10% (#2billion) in VAT.likewise states like Ekiti,Osun,Edo,Ebonyi and other state in the south.
Unfortunately, this socialist structure is a curse and blessing,its a curse due to how it has brought laziness and docileness to states who contributed little but receive high allocation from Abuja every month,while it has been a blessing due to how the socialist structure is the reason why poor people can send their ward to federal schools.Nigeria is not yet ripe for full blown Capitalism, we still need a mix economic with liitle government regulations to balance things out.

People looks at me with astonishment when I tell them I don't use facebook, some even go further to ask me unnecessary questions like;why,how,bla bla bla. I deactivated and deleted my Facebook account 2 years ago because I found it too loud,social,intrusive and childish.
I'm the kind of person who loves privacy,staying anonymous and only relating to things which involves intellectual stimulation, I found Facebook to be the opposite of my lifestyle and I had to delete my account because it makes me feel sick and drain my energy. Currently operate a Twitter account where I get updates on national and global happenings include knowledge on my software programming things,(this is why I love Nairaland).

Now my reason of creating this thread is to enquire from you all if there are also people here who doesn't use Facebook,because sometimes I feel I'm the only one left behind.

I don't subscribe much to conspiracy theories, but it is very evident that someone, or a group is someones, is using movies/shows to brainwash the public.

It became obvious with the homosexuality trope. It was weird the first time we saw it on TV. But now, it is expected.

The desensitisation of homesexuality through the use of movies and TV shows has been quite successful. Few people, if any at all, think it's weird anymore.

That said, writers of movies and shows seem to have a list of mandatory characters. The list includes:

1. A gay person (preferably male).
2. A black man.
3. A patriarchy-oppressed white woman (usually the lead).
4. A caricature of a masculine man.
5. A lovable doofus of a man.
6. A very powerful man whose balls are in the palm of a woman (wife/GF).
7. A strong, independent woman .
8. A transgender (EXCLUSIVELY a man turning into a woman. Women are already perfect just the way they are).

For these writers, finding a way to slot in a "black gay man" character is like hitting the jackpot. It makes them giddy with joy. A black transgender man? That's bliss!

That aside, there's a fairly new narrative that movies/shows are pushing now. Writers, or perhaps their sponsors, are catching on quickly. And it's gaining ground rapidly.

The narrative is this:

Men willfully relinquishing their rightful positions of leadership or authority to pursue love or a life of mediocrity and frivolities.

Of course, the narrative is fostered by conveniently making the men in the movie/show grossly incompetent and the women overwhelmingly competent.

Somehow, the women are natural-born leaders with huge ambitions and transformational ideas. Whereas for the men, leaders are just "not who they are."

First time I noticed the new narrative was in Coming 2 America. A poor bastard forfeited his throne to a natural female leader to pursue love with an ambitious lady. And that's okay?

The next time I noticed it was in Cinderella (2021) where the Crown Prince, who's conveniently made out to be incompetent and irresponsible, also forfeits his throne to his ambitious sister to pursue love with an equally ambitious girl whose ambitions require her to travel.

Avengers: Endgame was the next movie I saw with the narrative. Thor forfeiting the Asgardian Throne to a Valkyrie. In Norse mythology, the Valkyries are just servants of Odin. But it's okay to give up the throne to one of them and then go jostle for the leadership of a small space shuttle.

The objective of the narrative is simple:

It's okay to be unambitious as a man. Leave the leadership roles to women, they are more capable than you anyway.

If the propagation of the narrative continues, it'll become imprinted in the minds of men. Men will become more laid-back and unambitious than ever. Women will have the reins of society more firmly in their grasps.

Then HELL will reign on earth.

Just after my graduation from the university yesterday, with the joy and gladness after calling my parents and friends to tell them the good news of my graduation after also posting pictures on whatsapp and my instagram handle because I dont use facebook (I hate facebook with passion.)


By evening, my friends and I after we have all eaten high class delicacy together in a restaurant together,decided to return back to our school lodge.when we arrived home,the brought out a polythen bag filled with Skunk weed also known as SK.initially they always complain that I don't drag in the smoke properly into my system.So that yesterday I felt its time I smoke that shit properly.after rapping it on the rizler papers,they lit the first stick to go round among 5 of us.when it got to my turn I dragged in the smoke deeply into my system and they all hail me for smoking it properly now.

After the 3rd round,something strange began to happen, I began to feel one of the strangest feelings ever,I felt like I was about to go mad.great fear and paranoid plus anxiety overwhelmed me.I start saying strange words and began to cry that I have disappointed my parents,I was saying all sort of rubbish words and screaming the word "am I going mad,why have I allowed my enemies to laugh over me". I was feeling restless and over active, my heart beat increase,my mental faculty became too sharp and empathetic, I began to flash back on past actions and start regretting some decisions I took wrongly. I thought I had gone mad. My friends were initially laughing but after some minutes they realise this shit was damn serious, immediately they place me on the bed and began sprinkling me water. I requested for my phone to call my parents, atleast let them know the truth of my mistake incase things go south, but my friends refuse and I drag the phone from their hands with strenght I can explain it source. I called my parents and narrated my mistake to them, Dad was sympathetic and told me to drink garri without sugar while mum was paranoid and asking me scolding me while I kept telling her to forgive and pray for me. I began to promise God in my heart never to repeat this mistake again which I will keep that promise. I was forced to sleep but kept waking up at short interval to check myself while mum and dad kept calling every moment to hear from me.This morning I woke up feeling a bit better but still experiencing severe headache and my body shaking. Thank you Jesus.
