Business / Vendors And Logistics: The Difference by Swifno: 8:07pm On Feb 09, 2021
Hi there, Winston here. How has the second month of the first year of a new decade been so far? Hope it’s going as planned. We’ll be delving into the world of Vendors and Logistics in our post today, and therein, clear a certain notion. Firstly, in a supply chain(which is the core of what we do at www.swifno.com), a vendor, or a seller, is an enterprise that contributes goods or services. Generally, a supply chain vendor manufactures inventory/stock items and sells them to the next link in the chain. Today, these terms refer to a supplier of any goods or service.

A vendor, or a supplier, is a supply chain management term that means anyone who provides goods or services of experience, to another entity. Vendors may sell B2B (business-to-business; i.e., to other companies), B2C (business to consumers), or B2G (business to government). Some vendors manufacture inventoriable items, and then sell those items to customers, while other vendors offer services or experiences. Vendors are often managed with a vendor compliance checklist or vendor quality audits, and these activities can be effectively managed by software tools. Purchase orders are usually used, as a contractual agreement with vendors, to buy goods or services. Vendors may or may not function as distributors or manufacturers of goods. If vendors are also manufacturers, they may either build to stock or build to order. This is according to Wikipedia.

"Vendor" is often a generic term, used for suppliers of industries from retail sales to manufacturers, to city organizations. The term generally applies only to the immediate seller, or the organization that is paid for the goods, rather than to the original manufacturer or the organization performing the service, if it is different from the immediate supplier.
According to Investopedia, a vendor is a party in the supply chain that makes goods and services available to companies or consumers. The term "vendor" is typically used to describe the entity that is paid for goods that are provided, rather than the manufacturer of the goods itself. However, it is possible for a vendor to operate as both a supplier (or seller) of goods and a manufacturer. A vendor, also known as a supplier, is a person or a business entity that sells something. Large retail store chains such as Shoprite, for example, generally have a list of vendors from which they purchase goods at wholesale prices, that they then sell at retail prices to their customers.

Having said this, our country Nigeria prides itself with a lot of vibrant vendors(e.g. we have a lot of shoe vendors, that we carry out supplies for), and one key aspect of a vendor’s operations, is Logistics. Logistics is to a vendor; what legs are to a human body. Logistics is generally the detailed organization and implementation of a complex operation. In a general business sense, logistics is the management of the flow of things between the point of origin and the point of consumption to meet the requirements of customers, or corporations. The resources managed in logistics may include tangible goods such as materials, equipment, and supplies, as well as food and other consumable items. Logistics management is the part of supply chain management; which is our core modus operandi at www.swifno.com and supply chain engineering that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective forward, and reverse flow and storage of goods, services, and related information between the point of origin and point of consumption, to meet customer's requirements.

Nigeria has so many vendors and equally a large amount of Logistics firms or supply chain consultancy outfits like Swifno(www.swifno.com). But a few times, vendors have been confused for logistics firms and vice versa. Perhaps it’s because their activities more often than not, intersects which each other. Well I’m sure the preceding paragraphs of this post have helped clarified that notion. Until next time, keep staying safe.

Business / Logistics/courier Delivery In The Pandemic by Swifno: 10:45pm On Jul 02, 2020
Hi there, happy new month, and how are you holding up amidst the pandemic, we hope you’re washing your hands frequently/sanitizing, practicing social distancing and staying safe, and hopefully this pandemic too shall pass. Originating from the Wuhan Hubei Province, a thriving business city in China, this novel Corona Virus was identified by the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission on the 31st of December 2019. Little did the world know that life as we know it, was going to have a drastic change.

In mid/late January 2020, we in the supply chain industry noticed a decrease in the ‘free flow’ of courier packages from China, as it has the biggest market for the supply chain industry. We(www.swifno.com) thought it was because of the ‘normal’ Chinese New Year that comes up around the 12th of February, little did we(www.swifno.com) know that there was a pandemic lurking around the corner. On the 13th of January, officials confirmed a case of COVID-19 in Thailand (the first recorded case outside of China), and on the 3rd February 2020, WHO released the international community's Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to help protect states with weaker health systems. Before we could say; Swifno!, countries started issuing nationwide lockdowns, and as if that wasn’t enough a 14-day lockdown (which later extended into 1 month) was announced in Nigeria on the 30th of March. While we(www.swifno.com) were still trying to recalibrate our delivery trajectory, in light of everything that was going on, a global lockdown was underway.

The question on everyone’s lips was; ‘what is the way the way forward’? We at Swifno(www.swifno.com) came together and thought of a way we could tailor our services to suit this period of the pandemic, and seeing that the pandemic brought about a halt in daily activities and little or no movement of people from place to place(people who were of course in need of essentials, like; food supplies, toiletries etc.), we immediately had series of meetings with our courier partners, which led to us obtaining an “Essential Workers Pass” from requisite authorities to enable our courier partners move freely and carry out essential deliveries.

Now it wasn’t quite smooth, as we had many deliveries to carry out, as well as many check points that required us(www.swifno.com) to explain ourselves. Our courier partners also had to put on protective gears like; face shield and hand gloves, and there was a routine sanitizing of courier vehicles and bikes. But in our resilience, we quickly got used to the ‘new normal’; the new way of doing things. As a matter of fact, we took up a notch and, launched an update of the Swifno Mobile App. It’s available on your preferred AppStore. So while you are staying safe and going about your ‘necessary’ daily activities, and also adhering to the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control – NCDC(www.ncdc.gov.ng) amidst the ease of the lockdown, we(www.swifno.com) just a click away from bringing you the best of package delivery service.

Business / My Swifno Story – Episode 7 by Swifno: 11:06pm On Jul 22, 2019
Hi there and a happy new week to you, how are you and how’s work, school or business? Hope you had a swell weekend. This week we’ll be sharing another story of one of our amiable customers and for the sake of privacy, he’ll go under the alias, Mr. Zee.
Mr. Zee is a general contractor, based in Abuja. One Thursday morning, he requested for the delivery of two packages containing 200 pieces of paper boxes for small chops, on the Swifno mobile app, the packages were to be delivered to Warri in Delta State. When we(www.swifno.com) got Mr. Zee’s delivery request, our couriers placed their bid and Mr. Zee chose his preferred courier to handle his delivery.
The courier Mr. Zee chose, immediately started working on his delivery because it was the only delivery package going to Delta State and needed to be on the next van going to the east. His pick-up address was Garki Abuja and his drop-off was Otokutu, Warri. That morning, the courier got to Mr. Zee’s pick-up location by some minutes past nine o’ clock. The courier picked up the delivery packages, taped them with a tape that read ‘fragile’, and then set out on a journey to the east through Delta State.
Upon arrival at Delta State, Mr. Zee’s packages were trans-loaded into another van owned by the Asaba branch of the courier, to complete the delivery at the drop-off location. Unfortunately, when the packages got to the drop-off location, Mr. Zee’s recipient noticed that more than half of the paper boxes were rumpled and squeezed. The courier explained that the squeezing could have occurred in the course of driving into Warri. Well the recipient rejected the goods and then told Mr. Zee, Mr. Zee called us(www.swifno.com) and told us what had happened. After necessary deliberations we initiated a refund action on the Swifno mobile app and Mr. Zee was given a refund of the value of his packages.
This delivery really shook us(www.swifno.com) because it was the first of its kind, as we had never needed to refund a customer, let alone refund the value of a delivery package. But the situation had to be taken care of, and customer satisfaction is very important to us. Thanks to our management team, we were able to make the best of the situation and still maintain a good relationship with Mr. Zee. Speaking of which, Mr. Zee redid the paper boxes and still requested that the delivery be made via the swifno mobile app and his delivery this time was a success.

Hi there and a happy new week to you, hope you had a good weekend? We’ll be sharing another story of one of our amiable customers, this week. And as we do, for the sake of privacy, he’ll go under the alias, Mr. H.
Mr. H. is a retired civil servant, a tech savvy one too. Well he was a vibrant computer scientist in his time in service. You must be wondering how I know this, well he always utilizes every opportunity to call us(www.swifno.com) to make enquiries and suggest ways on how best we can serve our customers via the Swifno App.
Mr. H. placed a delivery request one Friday morning, his address on the mainland was the pick-up location and the drop-off location was on the island. So when the time came for our couriers to set out that morning, it was easy for them zoom to Mr. H’s pick-up location, because they have their offices on the mainland, and as soon as they collected the package containing a book, our couriers were on their way to the island, and of course with other packages that were to be delivered on the island. When our couriers got to the area of the drop-off location they called the recipient of the package and he said that he had relocated to Ebute-Meta.
You can imagine how our couriers felt, we(www.swifno.com) were immediately called and then we called Mr. H. and told him. He apologized for the mix-up and said he’ll call the recipient. Few minutes later Mr. H. called us and confirmed that the recipient had moved to Ebute-Meta, and then he gave us the recipient’s new address, he apologized again for the mix-up. We then(www.swifno.com) furnished our couriers with the recipient’s new address and they rerouted, and headed down to Ebute-Meta. When our couriers got to Ebute-Meta, they called the recipient again and this time, he welcomed them to his house and collected his package.
We always make sure that all our deliveries end successfully, Mr. H’s own wasn’t going to be an exception. In Mr. H’s case, we had to take the initiative to modify his delivery via phone calls. At the end of the day, our deliveries record success no matter the challenges we face.
Business / My Swifno Story – Episode 5 by Swifno: 1:36pm On Mar 01, 2019
Hi there and a happy new month to you. This week, we’ll be sharing another story of one of our amiable customers. For the sake of privacy, she’ll go under the alias, Miss. J. Miss. J. is a caterer who just started her business of the catering for peoples; cakes, snacks, side dishes and meals. Sometime at the end of the first quarter of last year, Miss. J. happened to have a conversation with one of our colleagues here at Swifno(www.swifno.com), about needing the services of a courier company. It was only appropriate for him to tell her to download the Swifno Mobile App.
Miss. J. was tech savvy and as such, she didn’t hesitate to put a call across to us through our official number on our website(www.swifno.com), she told us that she had requested a delivery and then she asked; what next? We told her that our couriers had already placed bids on her delivery request. After Miss. J. chose a courier, the courier immediately headed to her pick-up address. Now Miss. J. wanted to deliver three boxes of cupcakes and two boxes of chocolate cake. The courier van got to her pick-up address, picked up the packages and was en-route to her drop-off address. On the high way, Kubwa express to be precise, the courier van broke down. You can imagine how our driver felt.
We(www.swifno.com) had to work fast, so we immediately deployed three of our courier dispatch riders(on their bikes) to Kubwa express way, two bikes took one box of chocolate cake each, and the third bike took the three boxes of cupcakes. After the trans-loading took place, our courier dispatch riders headed to Miss. J’s drop-off address. Before Miss. J. called us to know the status of her delivery, our couriers had entered the area of her drop-off address. When her call came through, our couriers were already at the drop-off address and handing the packages(the boxes of cake) to Miss. J’s customer, her customer called her to confirm that she had received the packages.
Now this delivery was a close call, but we(www.swifno.com) pulled through. The whole delivery process was a little less than three hours, thanks to our team and our passionate couriers, and also, less traffic on Abuja roads.
Business / My Swifno Story – Episode 4 by Swifno: 2:20pm On Feb 11, 2019
Hi there and happy new week to you, we’ll be sharing yet another story of one of our amiable customers, this week. For the sake of privacy, she’ll go under the alias, Miss. B. Miss. B. is optician who has an online store where she sells all sorts of eye glasses, lenses and frames, respectively. A friend of hers told her about the Swifno mobile app, she downloaded it and registered her account on the app.
One Wednesday, during one of our midday delivery traffic periods, Miss. B. placed four delivery requests consecutively and chose all the bids of one our designated couriers in particular. It so happened that they didn’t have enough delivery men on ground and Miss. B. requested a ‘same-day’ delivery of; four glass frames, to four of her customers within Lagos. Two of her customers resided in Victoria Island, the third was in Ojo, while the fourth lived in Ikeja. We(www.swifno.com) had to act fast as Miss. B’s preferred courier didn’t have delivery men on ground to carry out two of her deliveries. To this regard, we called her and ask that we transfer the two deliveries to any of our other designated couriers that had men on ground at that time. Of course we told her that we were going to be responsible for any extra cost, as courier bids on our Swifno mobile app, more often than not, don’t have the same cost of delivery(some cost relatively less than others). Miss. B. agreed and requested in agitation that we be fast and that her customers were waiting for their delivery packages.
We(www.swifno.com) immediately transferred two of her deliveries to another designated courier of ours that had delivery men on ground, and they hurried went to Miss. B’s pick-up location at Yaba. As at this time, the first two packages were already en-route to their drop-off locations; Ojo and Ikeja respectively. So, on leaving Yaba, Miss. B’s last two delivery packages were on their way to Victoria Island. By the time Miss. B. gave us a second call to check on her delivery status, our designated couriers were already close to her drop-off address and some minutes later three of her customers called to tell her that they’ve received their packages. Her customer for the last package that had Ojo as the drop-off location, called Miss. B. to say she had received her package, less than 40minutes later.
At this juncture, I must say, we(www.swifno.com) owe this success story to our teamwork, resilience and our ever passionate couriers. For it was the only way we could complete a delivery process that was initiated at noon, by past 4pm.
Business / My Swifno Story – Episode 3 by Swifno: 11:10pm On Jan 28, 2019
Hi there and happy new week to you, hope you had a swell weekend. We’ll be sharing another story of one of our amiable customers, this week. For the sake of privacy, she’ll go under the alias, Miss. D.
Miss. D was then a Corps Member, serving at Ijebu-Ode, at the Tai Solanrin University of Education to be precise. She had just started her female accessories business, so she shuttled between going to work at her Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) and carrying out the delivery orders of her still growing customers. On one of her visits to Lagos, she heard of the Swifno(www.swifno.com) courier delivery mobile app on radio and then, like all our amiable customers, she downloaded the Swifno mobile app.
At the time Miss. D. was still in Lagos, and after she had downloaded and registered her account on the app, we received a delivery request from her. Now this was weeks after she registered her account on the Swifno(www.swifno.com) mobile app. Miss. D’s request was a next-day delivery(it’s like this next-day delivery is the most preferred right?), and her pick-up address was Lagos while her drop-off address was Ijegun, Ijebu-Ode, in Ogun State. Miss. D’s request threw us all off balance, because in the case of our Ogwashiukwu delivery, we(www.swifno.com) at the least, had our collaborating courier partners there. But in the case of Miss. D’s delivery, we had not yet established relations with couriers in the Ijegun, Ijebu-Ode part of Ogun State and we could not locate the drop-off address on our GPS tracker. We of course started looking for any of our staff or couriers that comes from or, have relatives in Ijebu-Ode. On hearing this, one of our security personnel said he has family friends in Ijebu-Ode and that they can be of help, in locating Miss. D’s drop-off address.
We(www.swifno.com) immediately assigned one of our couriers and the security personnel, to Ijebu-Ode. Our saving grace was that Miss. D. sent in her delivery request in the early hours of the previous afternoon, so we had time to come up with a solution. Very early the next day(Tuesday), both of them were en-route to Ijebu-Ode, our courier was on one bike carrying Miss. D’s delivery items of; 5 pairs of earrings, 5 necklaces and 2 wristwatches, while the security personnel led the way on his own bike. They got to Ijegun and delivered the package to Miss. D’s customer, by some minutes past two o’clock. One of the sons of our security personnel’s family friend had followed them and helped them locate Miss. D’s customer in good time. Miss. D’s customer called to tell her that she had received her package. After a successful delivery, our courier and security personnel headed back to Lagos. Ijegun in Ijebu-Ode was a new frontier that we conquered.
Business / My Swifno Story – Episode 2 by Swifno: 10:08pm On Jan 14, 2019
Hi there and happy new week to you, hope you had a swell weekend. We’ll be sharing another story of one of our amiable customers. For the sake of privacy, he’ll also go under alias Mr. A. The delivery request was submitted and we(www.swifno.com) swung into action. Our couriers placed bids for the delivery request, and a courier was chosen. From his delivery request, Mr. A wanted to send 5 jerseys from Lagos to Abuja and he wanted it to be a next day delivery. By the way, this was on a Friday, by some minutes past three o’clock, and remember Mr. A wanted the jerseys delivered by the next day(being Saturday). By now it was getting to past four o’clock and our couriers where either closing business for the day or ending one delivery or the other. It was evening and we needed to achieve Mr. A’s next-day.
Putting our heads together, we(www.swifno.com) decided that one of our courier personnel will join the night bus of one of the reputable bus transport companies, going to Abuja. Upon arrival in Abuja, our personnel went to our courier office in Abuja and joined the delivery van that was making the rounds that Saturday. Mr. A’s delivery was successful; the 5 jerseys were delivered to the drop-off address that he provided. It became a win-win affair, because it was our personnel’s first time in Abuja, as such he met with our Abuja couriers and got acquainted with them.
We(www.swifno.com) did not allow time and chance work against us, but for us. We had Mr. A’s delivery in mind and at the end of it all, it was a successful delivery.
Business / My Swifno Story –episode 1 by Swifno: 12:56pm On Jan 08, 2019
Hi there, and how was your weekend? Hope it was good. This week on ‘My Swifno Story’ we’ll share with you, our first courier delivery of last year(for the sake of exclusivity, our customers will go under the alias – Mr. A, Mrs. A or Miss A).
So it was a faithful a Wednesday early afternoon in the month of January last year, when we(www.swifno.com) got the submitted delivery request from the Swifno app by a young Mr. A. Mr. A had requested to send two smart phones from Abuja to his recipient in Delta State. This was our first courier delivery, from Abuja to Delta(Ogwashiukwu). In no time, our couriers swung into action and started bidding for Mr. A’s delivery request. When one of our couriers got the bid to deliver Mr. A’s smarts phones, the courier went for a pick-up at Mr. A’s pick-up address (which was his house), after which Mr. A’s smart phones were put in a delivery van heading to Anambra State. Remember, Mr. A’s drop off address was Ogwashiukwu Delta State, and it was a next-day delivery.
Very early the next day, our couriers set out en-route to Anambra State. Upon reaching Asaba, our collaborating couriers in Asaba were contacted and were given briefings about Mr. A’s smart phones going to Ogwashiukwu. Shortly our couriers met with our collaborating couriers in Asaba, in the person of a dispatch rider, and then a trans-loading commenced, which involved transferring Mr. A’s smart phones into the dispatch rider’s delivery box. Now this was around 2pm in the afternoon of the delivery day.
The dispatch rider zoomed towards Ogwashiukwu, and we(www.swifno.com) made sure the communication line between us and the dispatch rider as well as the communication line between us and Mr. A, stayed open and active. Around 4pm and as Mr. A was getting agitated, the dispatch rider had gotten to Ogwashiukwu and was looking for Mr. A’s drop off address. By 04:43pm, the dispatch rider found Mr. A’s drop off address and handed the smart phones to Mr. A’s dad. Mr. A later told us that, that day was his dad’s birthday and that the smart phones were for his dad and mum.
We(www.swifno.com) took a daunting approach in Mr. A’s case, as we hadn’t done any courier delivery from Abuja to Delta State, let alone, Ogwashiukwu. But we faced the challenge head-on and though we reached Mr. A’s drop off address in the evening, we made sure we delivered a next-day delivery. We at Swifno(www.swifno.com) always bear in mind; passion and diligence in our goal to provide ‘choice’ and ‘convenience’ for you, our amiable customer. So that at the end of it all, when it comes to courier services, Swifno easily comes to mind.

Business / The Courier Delivery Process by Swifno: 11:17am On Dec 03, 2018
Hi and welcome to another week, it’s always nice to meet make your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about –The Courier Delivery Process. To begin with, a process is a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. In business, a process is a collection of linked tasks which find their end in the delivery of a service or product to a client, it’s also a set of activities and tasks that, once completed, will accomplish an organizational goal.
From experience at Swifno(www.swifno.com), the business of courier delivery, has a process that begins with finding out a way to get your item(s)/package(s) couriered, to meet the desired time and also, the desired person. After this has been sorted out, the customer looks for the appropriate platform to achieve this purpose, in this case, the Swifno mobile app(www.swifno.com). The courier delivery process is said to be complete when the goods has been successfully delivered to the recipient/customers.
A courier delivery process might have a lot of uncertainties and unforeseen circumstances, but at Swifno(www.swifno.com), there are always contingency plans adequately laid out for the sole purpose of tackling unforeseen circumstances in our delivery services.

Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Well search no longer, here are some tips that would guide you in ensuring that you get a devoted courier delivery platform that’ll make sure your package deliveries are timely and successful:

1. Simply download the Swifno mobile app from Google Play Store or from iOS App Store and register.

2. In requesting your delivery, ensure you have the package prepared early enough (depending on the distance), before placing your
request.

3. While placing a courier delivery request, ensure the pick-up and drop- off locations are properly described. This is to ensure the courier
service provider does not waste time trying to locate these places.

4. While stating these locations (pick - up and drop - off), it will also be useful to indicate landmarks close to the intended location, to aid
proper description.

5. Keep your mobile device (or other media) handy for vital information on status of delivery in transit especially if you are the recipient. This
is also important in event of a sudden change in location, be it pick up or drop off.

6. If the delivery location is far away from the pick-up location (e.g. another state), make the request early enough, preferably first thing in
the morning.

7. Communication is important. When items are on transit, try to maintain a means of communication with the courier service provide. The
Swifno app offers an excellent tracking option where the courier can keep the customer updated at all times.

8. When placing requests for receipts of items from someone else, it is important to advise the person (the sender) just before the request is
made.

9. When all this is done, a variety couriers will then bid to carry out your delivery till it reaches a successful end.
Business / Courier Responsibility by Swifno: 11:37am On Oct 23, 2018
Hi and welcome again, It’s always a pleasure to write to you/meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about – Courier Responsibilities. Firstly, responsibility is the state or fact of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one's power, control, or management and, responsibilities, is the array of things in one’s care for which he/she is accountable for. On the other hand, we all know or at least are familiar with the fact that a courier is a company that delivers messages, parcels/packages, mails or food, from a point of pick-up to a point of drop off.
Experience in the Swifno(www.swifno.com) team has taught that the responsibilities of a courier are multifaceted and sometimes simplistic, yet important. From the beginning of a delivery process to the end, the courier personnel are always kept on their toes, relaxation comes only when the delivery process is completed successfully. In Swifno(www.swifno.com), courier responsibilities include, but are not limited to; picking up parcel(s) from the pick-up address, dropping off parcel(s) at the drop off address, tracking the delivery progress, and being in constant communication with the customer.
It is note-worthy to state that courier responsibilities differ from one courier to the other and is dependent on each courier’s mode of operation. Notwithstanding, there are basic courier responsibilities like the ones mentioned above.
Are you looking for a courier that is up to par with its responsibilities, have you been having issues with regard to pick up’s and drop off’s in your courier/package delivery process? Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Well search no longer, here are some tips that would guide you in ensuring that you get a devoted courier delivery platform that’ll make sure your package deliveries are timely and successful:

1. Simply download the Swifno mobile app from Google Play Store or from iOS App Store and register.

Business / Courier Delivery Risks by Swifno: 1:20pm On Sep 14, 2018
Hi and welcome to another week, it’s always nice to meet make your acquaintance. The week we’ll be talking about – Courier Delivery Risks. Firstly, risk is the potential of gaining or losing something of value. Values (such as physical health, social status, emotional well-being, or financial wealth) can be gained or lost when taking risk resulting from a given action or inaction, foreseen or unforeseen (planned or not planned). Risk can also be seen as the intentional interaction with uncertainty.
Taking risks in courier delivery, is being aware of the many uncertainties that might occur in the process of delivering a package/parcel, and accepting it as part of the uncontrollable events of life. Experience at Swifno(www.swifno.com) has shown that due to the fact that risks(especially courier delivery risks) are taken as a result of the presence of man-made or natural uncertainties, a customer should anticipate some short-comings amidst the thought of having a successful package delivery. This is not to say that you as a customer should become a pessimist, but that you should leave room for uncertainties, even as you rest assured that your package will be successful delivered to you. Moreover, there’s a level of insurance that covers every package/parcel and every process of package delivery.
It is however, appropriate to say that there are risks and there are calculated risks. When a customer takes a calculated risk, it means that he/she is 75% sure of a successful package delivery. I’m proud to say that our customers at Swifno(www.swifno.com) take calculated risks by using one of the best courier delivery platforms in West Africa.
Are you looking to take calculated risks in courier/package delivery, have you been having trust/insecurity issues with regards the safety of your package, in a courier/package delivery process? Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Business / Courier Delivery Target Market by Swifno: 6:59pm On Jul 23, 2018
Hi there, and a happy new week to you. So this week we’ll be talking about – Courier Delivery Target Market. Target market on the other hand is a group of customers within a business's serviceable available market that the business has decided to aim its marketing efforts towards. Business / Courier Accountability by Swifno: 4:34pm On Jun 15, 2018
Hi and welcome again, it’s always a pleasure to write to you/meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about – Courier Accountability. Courier accountability is the acknowledgment and assumption of responsibility of a courier, for its actions, products/services, decisions, and policies including the administration, governance, and implementation within the scope of its role(s) with an encompassing obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences of its delivery processes and general activities.
There are many accountable couriers in the world and also in our country Nigeria but it is worthy of note to say that Swifno(www.swifno.com) is a leading courier in terms of accountability as well as our forte which is courier delivery with passion and of course accountability. I must say, the feeling of assurance that exhumes from our customers when we at Swifno(www.swifno.com) call to give assistance during a delivery process, is without a doubt priceless. In times of glitches(there’s always that rainy day) in a delivery process, experience has thought us that it is then that you let your accountability take the front sit and bear every/any delivery responsibility on your shoulders until you eventually record a successful delivery.
Are you looking for accountability in courier/package delivery, have you been having issues with regard to pick up’s and drop off’s in your courier/package delivery process? Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Business / ONLINE COURIER DELIVERY: Pick Up’s & Drop Off’s by Swifno: 10:05am On May 24, 2018
Hi and welcome, it’s always a pleasure to write to you/meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about – Pick Up’s & Drop Off’s in online Courier Delivery. Since the inception of online package/courier delivery, pick up’s and drop off’s have always been at the beginning and end of a delivery process. It entails the provision of an address by the client/customer showing a location where the parcel/package will be picked up as well as a location where the parcel/package will be dropped off.
In the past, the sender would have to drop his or her parcel/package off at the courier office and upon delivery (say to another state), the recipient would have to go and claim his or her parcel/package at the branch of the courier office that is domiciled in the recipient’s location. But thanks to online courier delivery, things have been made easier and more convenient. One of the very important aspects of an online courier delivery is pick up and drop off address, as this helps to record a smooth and successful delivery process. Often times, in the process of inputting the details of our delivery requests during an online delivery process, we mix-up or even omit either our pick up or drop off address. This in turn makes it difficult to have a smooth package delivery.
However, this is not an issue anymore as we at Swifno(www.swifno.com) have built a feature in the Swifno(www.swifno.com) Mobile App that prompts you to input your pick up and drop off address, before you can complete your delivery request and then submit for our couriers to come and do a pick up.
Are you in search of satisfaction in courier/package delivery, have you been having issues with regard to pick up’s and drop off’s in your courier/package delivery process? Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Well search no longer, here are some tips that would guide you in ensuring that you get a devoted courier delivery platform that’ll make sure your package deliveries are timely and successful:

Hi and a Happy New Week to you, it’s always nice to talk to you and meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about - Courier Delivery & Logistics. Couriers deliveries are distinguished from ordinary mail delivery services by features such as speed, security, tracking, signature, specialization and individualization of express services, and swift delivery times, which are optional for most everyday mail services. As a premium service, courier deliveries are usually more expensive than standard mail services, and their use is normally limited to packages where one or more of these features are considered important enough to warrant the cost. Courier services operate on all scales, from within specific towns or cities, to regional, national and global services.
Logistics on the hand, is generally the detailed organization and implementation of a complex operation. In a general business sense, logistics is the management of the flow of things between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet requirements of customers or corporations. The resources managed in logistics can include physical items such as food, materials, animals, equipment, and liquids; as well as abstract items, such as time and information. The logistics of physical items usually involves the integration of information flow, materials handling, production, packaging, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and often security.
Because we at Swifno(www.swifno.com) know how important courier deliveries are, we pay extra attention to the logistics of our package deliveries. To this regard, our couriers on the Swifno(www.swifno.com) platform have all structured their modus operandi to have the best logistics operations and ultimately record seamless and successful deliveries. Hi and welcome again, how was your holidays? It’s always a pleasure to write to you and meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about – Courier & Customer Confidence. Courier & Customer confidence is the confidence that comes from trust, the trust that a courier has in its personnel/staff to carry out deliveries on time, the trust that a customer has in a courier to delivery his or her package on time. It is however, appropriate to say that the Swifno(www.swifno.com) team has trust and confidence as its watchword, as experience in the service of courier delivery has taught that a customer’s trust in a courier breed confidence in the courier.
Between the confidence that a courier has in itself and the confidence that a customer has in a courier, it is the latter (i.e. the confidence that a customer has in a courier) that holds sway simply because it’s an age long fact that the customer is king and we all know what it means to have the confidence of a ‘king’.
Imagine a scenario where you as the customer needed to send a parcel from Lagos to Abuja in the morning and you were leaving for the UK, for; Business, Health reasons or School, that same morning. Hi and welcome again, it’s always a pleasure to write to you and to meet your acquaintance. This week we’ll be talking about – Sender/Recipient satisfaction. This is in most cases known as Customer Satisfaction. Customer satisfaction (often abbreviated as CSAT), is a term frequently used in marketing and business. It is a measure of how products and services supplied by a company meet or surpass customer expectation. Customer satisfaction is defined as "the number of customers, or percentage of total customers, whose reported experience with a firm, its products, or its services (ratings) exceeds specified satisfaction goals." But in the context of this write-up we’ll be using Sender/Recipient Satisfaction.
The satisfaction and fulfilment that is felt by a Sender/Recipient of a delivery package is one of the core reasons why courier agencies or courier service platforms like Swifno(www.swifno.com) exist. Sender/Recipient satisfaction in the package delivery world is the feeling that a customer has when his/her delivery process is successful and by successful, we all know the delivery has to be; ‘timely’ and done by a ‘passionate courier’.
Imagine you had a new phone that you wanted to send to a loved one in another state (say from Lagos to Anambra) and then it takes a week to get to him/her. Now imagine this same story in reverse, whereby the phone gets to Anambra the next day. How will you feel, satisfied right? Now that’s exactly what you get using Swifno(www.swifno.com), because experience has taught that there’s more to package/courier delivery and that’s making sure that you(yes you) are satisfied with every delivery process.
Are you in search of satisfaction in courier/package delivery, have you been in need of timely deliveries or a timely delivery? Have you needed to send items to within Nigeria, and you wanted/expected them to get to their destination on time or on the same day? Hi there and a happy new week to you, it’s always a pleasure to make your acquaintance/be in touch with you. This week we’ll be talking about – The Perfect Courier. People say perfection in the world of service and of course delivery service, is the way to go. From experience, ‘Passion’ in my opinion, is actually the way to go.
The Perfect Courier is that courier that is human enough to put itself in its customer(s) shoes, human enough to diligently employ empathy and carefully marry it with business, in the course of rendering a delivery service. These things can only be done/achieved, when passion steers the ship of the entire affairs of the courier. A perfect courier strives to render timely delivery service, be it multiple package deliveries or same-day package deliveries, regardless of any courier delivery shocks that might be encountered.
Experience at Swifno(www.swifno.com) has taught me that, you treat every delivery as if they were yours and treat every recipient as if they were a relative of yours that is expecting a package from you. My boss always says: “Young man, it helps to groom your passion for the job.” I couldn’t agree more. Having said this, passion is the way to go in rendering service, especially delivery service. For passion breeds perfection and a perfect courier is a passionate courier.

MULTIPLE PACKAGE DELIVERY
Hi! It’s good to be here again, how are you and how have your package/courier deliveries been? This week, we’ll be looking at – Multiple Package Delivery.
Multiple package delivery is the process of sending two or more packages/parcels to one place or more, at the same time, through a courier. Now, Multiple Package Delivery can be done; within a state, interstate, nationally and internationally. One might want to send multiple packages like; gift hampers, clothes, accessories, business/personal documents etc., to more than one place within or outside Nigeria. This is clearly a multiple package delivery and should be treated adequately by the couriers handling the delivery. Because, the delivery might be a Same-day Package Delivery and recording success in these deliveries will go a long way in avoiding Courier Delivery Shocks.
Nigerians are very industrious people, of which an increasing number are entrepreneurs who sometimes in their businesses receive or carry-out multiple package deliveries. With the help of Swifno(www.swifno.com) and the likes, these multiple package deliveries are carried-out successfully which in turn leads to successful business experiences for the entrepreneurs and businesses alike.
Have you had the need to carry-out multiple package deliveries? Have you needed to send multiple items to within Nigeria? Well here are some tips that would guide you in ensuring that you successfully handle your own multiple package delivery.

1. Some deliveries are priced based on what the items weigh. Keep this in mind when packaging multiple items, so as not to overshoot your budget.
2. If packaging your items yourself, ensure they are done in a neat and tidy manner and properly labelled before they are picked up. This is to avoid spillage or damage while in transit.
3. Pack your items in a manner that the surface area they occupy is reduced as much as possible. This will make them occupy less space, and in turn could cost less.
4. While packing fragile items, ensure they are placed on top of other items or are packed separately. Mark them clearly as FRAGILE, so they are handled with care.
5. If multiple items are to be delivered to the same location, but to different people, mark them accordingly before packing them together to avoid any form of mix up. Such a simple task can avoid a big issue.
6. When items are not packed together but are headed to the same location, it will help to package them with the same colour of wrappers or with similar tags to differentiate them easily from those going elsewhere.
When smartly done, a multiple package delivery could be achieved for the price of just one item. Think smart and employ the smartest means, Swifno(www.swifno.com).

It is at this time that questions and statements like; “Is this my package?”, “Why is my package broken at the tip?”. And, “Sir/Madam, this is your package, it was under the category you selected”.
Courier delivery shocks are mostly as a result of mix-ups on the part of the courier, maybe during the storage or trans-loading of packages/items for delivery. And experience in the art of courier delivery has informed the knowledge of something called an ‘On-forwarding Courier Delivery’. Such that the customer’s package reaches the courier office first, before heading to the drop-off address. In this case, delivery packages/items could really get mixed-up if care is not taken. But of course good courier delivery platforms like Swifno and the likes, have a good understanding of these intricacies.
Shocks in courier delivery also come minimally, as a result of mix-ups on the part of the customer, coursed by inadequate provision of delivery information. However, it is appropriate to say in all fairness, that courier delivery shocks are not one-sided, as couriers also get their own share of shocks.
All in all, courier delivery shocks can be reduced simply by having the knowledge of the fact that, to err is human, also by paying keen attention to details during a delivery process (for both courier and customer, especially at the beginning of the delivery process), and exercising the virtue of patience. Have you had courier delivery shocks in the past? Have you needed something urgently and through a series of errors, your package doesn’t make it to the destination in time? Well here are some tips that would guide you in ensuring that your package(s) gets picked up and delivered free of delivery shocks.

1. Ensure you have the package prepared early enough (depending on the distance), before placing your request.
2. If the delivery location is far away from the pick-up location (e.g. another state), make the request early enough, preferably first thing in the morning.
3. While placing a courier delivery request, ensure the pick-up and drop- off locations are properly described. This is to ensure the courier service provider does not waste time trying to locate these places.
4. Communication is important. When items are on transit, try to maintain a means of communication with the courier service provide. The Swifno app offers an excellent tracking option where the courier can keep the customer updated at all times.
5. When placing requests for receipts of items from someone else, it is important to advise the person (the sender) just before the request is made.
6. For online requests, proper item description is important. This will enable the courier send the appropriate pricing over. The Swifno app provides a ‘photo upload’ feature to cater for this need. The courier service provider is able to see the picture and have a better description of the item scheduled for pick-up.

SAME-DAY PACKAGE DELIVERY
Our topic this week is – Same-day Package Delivery. For clarification and to ease understanding, package delivery or parcel delivery is the delivery of shipping containers, parcels, personal items or high value mail. The service is provided by most postal systems, express mail, private courier companies, and less-than-truckload-shipping-carriers.
Notice that, private courier companies is in bold in the paragraph above. Well it’s ‘cos our topic this week (same-day package delivery) revolves largely around private courier companies, some of which Swifno are proud partners with. More like Uber for deliveries, only in this case, Swifno is Uber and the private courier companies that we operate with, are the Uber drivers and of course you, yes you, are our awesome customer.
Okay so back to our topic for this week – Same-Day Package Delivery. Same-day package delivery for local parcels (such as documents, small and medium packages) has long been available by local courier companies. Swift transportation e.g. – road, rail and air transport made same-day package delivery feasible over longer distances; for example, packages shipped in the early morning can be delivered (at relatively high cost) anywhere within the major states and cities in the Federation that we at Swifno operate, before evening of the same day.
