JohnKester:JohnKester, any success with finding a souce for the Hydraform bricks? I am also interested in it. And I am in PH as well. I would be glad if you could also direct me to any building made with the bricks as I haven't seen it up close before. Thanks |
Riff-Raff, don't be lazy abeg! Go and use your brain, do your research and get your ideas. Then you can ask for assistance, and people would help you. This attitude is part of our problem in this country. |
@Poster, have you heard of the concept of 'Perpetual Motion'? Both ideas you proposed will not work. The reason is that the generator is not 100% efficient, so it won't convert all the input mechanical energy to electricity - some go as noise and heat. Actual generator efficiency is less than 50%. The motor is also not 100% efficient for the same reasons. The physical implication is that you would need some sort of energy input into the system. Even if you can get it to work, you wouldn't be able to get any energy out of the system, otherwise you would run it down. So, the ideas won't work. But u can try, though. ![]() |
Your requirement is not clear. Are u looking for new ideas, or things that have been done before? ICT or Space Sci & Tech, or ICT and Space Sci & Tech? For the latter, you shd be talking about working with satellites. You could investigate stuff like GPS, geolocation, etc. I can't help much without more info. |
Interesting thread here. I knew there were people into this kind of stuff (electronics), but I never knew we were this much. I'm currently working on a scheme/idea to harness these intellectual resources. Now I'm encouraged to go on. Look out World, Nigeria is breaking out! |
![]() Wow, thanks guys for the response. Details: The car is actually a write-off from a company pool I was lucky to get from the company (its about 7years old, and properly maintained, just being phased out). But when it came, the brainbox, and a number of other stuff were missing (as well as a 'sensor' in the main key). As a result, I had to pay to buy the missing parts, plus the brainbox, which the mechanic said has to be programmed to match the keys. @Siena, I'll get the number on the new brainbox asap. I'm a DIY person, but I just don't want to dabble into these things yet. The issue is that I need to know what the mechanics are doing, u know as Naija be now! So, I see mr.official mentioned 16k for reprogramming, thanks, at least i have an idea of what it cost. ![]() I've seen a thread talking about the pros and cons of a Bora, but I need one or two more bits of information: what's the average second-hand value of this car? Also, how much would the key sensor likely cost? Would be glad if anyone can tell me, just a ballpark figure. Thanks a bunch, you guys are d bomb. |
Guys, I got a volkswagen Bora on my hands. I had to change the brainbox. I want to know if it will need any programming before it works. My mechanic said I'll have to program it, but another mechanic said no. ![]() I have to know, so i don't get ripped off. Then again, what's the going price for a fairly used VW Bora? 2003, abt 70000 mileage, just in case I want to dispose of it. Thanks. |
