oneolajire:Brainworkers are needed to define how the particular job must be done, as the situations are not always the same, to achieve the aim and avert consequences. As brainworkers; you dont carry hammer, chisel, and spanner with your brain but use it to determine how the handworker should use his tools. |

oneolajire:Our major problem is because we make less use of our Ingeniers. 'Ingenier' means "Brainworker" but when we employ Ingeniers we use them for handwork, instead of brainwork. If you can engage Ingeniers as brainworkers, they would assist you to navigate through some of the constraints that come the way of your business. |

ahiboilandgas: Northerners are responsible for all the banditry and crises in the country. Northerners hate education. We Northerners started the useless policy of Federal Character that brought us more problems than solutions. Northerners prefer to be in power even if they are achieving nothing but poverty for the country. Northerners only employ people to get salary and not to work. This is why there are ghost workers everywhere. I can go on if not for constraints. |

sexybaby22:People are employed not to work and make profit for government to fund her social responsibility but just to get salary. Whether they go to work or not or they get there and never do anything throughout the day, they still get salary. This way, we shall continue to borrow from China and other countries to fund our budgets every year and the cycle of poverty can only increase. |

I only blame Obasanjo, who had every opportunity to put proper and infallible laws in place to check the excesses of politicians but was rather selfish, greedy, and myopic. 3 Likes 1 Share |

In Nigeria; Ingeniers are either converted into mechanics or vehemently wit-stood from doing their jobs as professional Inventors, if they refuse to be mechanics! You can then see why there is technology backwardness. |
Career / Re: Why Do Our Lawyers Still Wear White Man Wigs? by syspro77: 3:19am On Nov 30, 2018 |
One other mindset we must do away with is confusing imperial legacy with colonialism. Some still refer to Britain as, "Our colonial master". Who made them your master? We were victims of Brittish imperial prowess. Colonialism entails introducing population where it never existed. How many Brittish people do we see living like normal native people? They only come as visitors, diplomats, expatriates, etc. A major reform worth doing is removing precedence to English laws from our judicial system. Our culture is different from English's. We see where a murderer is granted bail only for such to become greater nuissance and menace than before. European aptitude differs from ours. |

SolutionMee:"Buhari is old and sacrificing", did anyone beg him? Sacrificing and killing innocent people, Commiting genocide and ethnic cleansing, etc, and you are saying what know nothing about. Some of you were fooled to believe Buhari is not corrupt just because he doesn't bank his thievery outside Nigeria. Keep your commendations for Donald Trump, atleast that makes some sense. |

Technical Degree is a funny one. Imagine learning handiwork in degrees. That means one should expect to learn 500years' experience of Vulcanizing, Iron Bending, Black Smithing, Shoemaking, etc. Kudoes, anyway! |

What kind of lope-sided list is this? You people did not even remember to add the outstanding Engr Eke, Augustine ESS. The man is dead to financial, material, or emotional influences. These were the things that brought down our other leaders. A lecturer that implements anti-extortion policies that affects himself. I think we need give him some benefit of doubt. |

Bossontop:That mindset may make you lose focus. Amongst these people contesting, there are many who have sincerity like Buhari but governance goes beyond that. I really dont counter you but to advise you look for specific quality and not personality. Though I have been following Engr Eke and yet to find any fault in him among those contesting for president. |

daewoorazer:You get this as worthy reward for having irresponsible crop of elites leading you. It can only get worse except something is done urgently. This is the reason Engr Eke is viewed as different from other politicians. The man is simply raw and frank with the truth, not minding the political correctness. |

From all indications, I guess you're inlove with the Chinese disregard for intellectual property rights. What they are doing is called 'Lifting' (stealing another person's idea) in Engineering. They never spent a dime on R& neither did they acquire Franchaise nor do they pay Royalties to the originators. Their products are cheap because they have skipped due process payments. flyca: |
Education / Re: Covenant University Graduates 238 First Class Honours Students by syspro77: 2:29pm On Jul 21, 2018 |
HigherEd:Kudos! You couldn't have said it better. As a graduate and Faculty from the Nigerian system, I totally agree with you. The US system is such that there are four semesters (two full, two halves) and nobody records a 'C' in a student's result in collating the final cummulative performance. Nigeria's system will even record a fail, not knowing that a student's academic history is not as important as the current form. The best hands don't make it into our Ivory Towers, as lecturers, and cummulative pile of such people ensures there are no improvements. We are still implementing archaic policies that the world have long moved away from. 1 Like |
