So how do we engage the "ingeniers" as brainworkers? Who will engage them?
Brainworkers are needed to define how the particular job must be done, as the situations are not always the same, to achieve the aim and avert consequences. As brainworkers; you dont carry hammer, chisel, and spanner with your brain but use it to determine how the handworker should use his tools.

Our major problem is because we make less use of our Ingeniers. 'Ingenier' means "Brainworker" but when we employ Ingeniers we use them for handwork, instead of brainwork.
If you can engage Ingeniers as brainworkers, they would assist you to navigate through some of the constraints that come the way of your business.

Northerners are responsible for all the banditry and crises in the country.
Northerners hate education.
We Northerners started the useless policy of Federal Character that brought us more problems than solutions.
Northerners prefer to be in power even if they are achieving nothing but poverty for the country.
Northerners only employ people to get salary and not to work. This is why there are ghost workers everywhere.
I can go on if not for constraints.

Is it not graduates from the south and foreigners that are managing dangote's business? As we speak, I am from the North but we Northerners are the singular problem of the entire country called Nigeria.

What people don't understand is that these govt jobs is the only thing the north can claim to have, they have no industries, companies and no oil unlike the south. That's why they put their fellow northerners in govt jobs cuz lots of them won't even be able to compete favourable in private organisations.
People are employed not to work and make profit for government to fund her social responsibility but just to get salary. Whether they go to work or not or they get there and never do anything throughout the day, they still get salary. This way, we shall continue to borrow from China and other countries to fund our budgets every year and the cycle of poverty can only increase.

I only blame Obasanjo, who had every opportunity to put proper and infallible laws in place to check the excesses of politicians but was rather selfish, greedy, and myopic.

My Fellow Country Men When Will Nigeria Evolve? We need to start doing things differently. I'm sick of reading political gibberish daily with nothing to show for it. We have all it takes, what are we waiting for.

We need to take tomorrow today.

In Nigeria; Ingeniers are forced into doing the work of mechanics instead of their more tasking duty as professional inventors.
Car Talk / Re: Tesla Unveils New Electric Truck & Stuns The World With New Roadster2 Sports Car by syspro77: 2:10pm On Jan 19, 2019
In Nigeria; Ingeniers are either converted into mechanics or vehemently wit-stood from doing their jobs as professional Inventors, if they refuse to be mechanics! You can then see why there is technology backwardness.
Career / Re: Why Do Our Lawyers Still Wear White Man Wigs? by syspro77: 3:19am On Nov 30, 2018
One other mindset we must do away with is confusing imperial legacy with colonialism. Some still refer to Britain as, "Our colonial master". Who made them your master? We were victims of Brittish imperial prowess. Colonialism entails introducing population where it never existed. How many Brittish people do we see living like normal native people? They only come as visitors, diplomats, expatriates, etc. A major reform worth doing is removing precedence to English laws from our judicial system. Our culture is different from English's. We see where a murderer is granted bail only for such to become greater nuissance and menace than before. European aptitude differs from ours.

It is only in Nigeria that things like this are celebrated

Here in America, the last time we celebrated a mediocrity like this was in the 17th century

When will my neighborhood develop

Well, maybe when Buhari wins 2019

Cuz with look of things, i can see over here that the old man is really trying. At old age, he sacrificed his good health and comfort at the expense of serving his Country and the best Nigerians could do is to keep abusing the man online

What else do you want that God has not given you

Will you spend eternity complaining

Don't you know it's even a privilege to have an old man at the helm of your nation's affairs

Please be grateful, patient and contented

America wasn't built in a tenure and decade

It cost centuries
"Buhari is old and sacrificing", did anyone beg him? Sacrificing and killing innocent people, Commiting genocide and ethnic cleansing, etc, and you are saying what know nothing about. Some of you were fooled to believe Buhari is not corrupt just because he doesn't bank his thievery outside Nigeria. Keep your commendations for Donald Trump, atleast that makes some sense.

What kind of lope-sided list is this? You people did not even remember to add the outstanding Engr Eke, Augustine ESS. The man is dead to financial, material, or emotional influences. These were the things that brought down our other leaders. A lecturer that implements anti-extortion policies that affects himself. I think we need give him some benefit of doubt.

That mindset may make you lose focus. Amongst these people contesting, there are many who have sincerity like Buhari but governance goes beyond that. I really dont counter you but to advise you look for specific quality and not personality. Though I have been following Engr Eke and yet to find any fault in him among those contesting for president.

From all indications, I guess you're inlove with the Chinese disregard for intellectual property rights. What they are doing is called 'Lifting' (stealing another person's idea) in Engineering. They never spent a dime on R&grin neither did they acquire Franchaise nor do they pay Royalties to the originators. Their products are cheap because they have skipped due process payments.
flyca:
China does not have prenium technologies, not yet. What they do is to go any length, pay any amount in this whole world to grab technological documents from technologically advanced countries in Europe and America. Also can pay exorbitantly to get their staff trained by the owners of the core tech. Then viola!

Give them two years, just two years, they will remodel that technology, retweek it here and there and present to the world a "brand new" technology!

Don't be surprised if these cars have more features and better functionalities that the original models. There is actually nothing wrong with this "copying" technique per say. I understand it as "learning by imitation" which is good because it works for them!

Lemme give a clear instance:
Uber came out as just a car hailing service, convey you from point A to B, maybe with GPS services, I don't know. But China copied it and named it "DiDi". Now y'all need to see what DiDi is today! Apart from these basic services, they have gone steps higher to introduce more car-hailing options, very multifunctional, very smart APP, very flexible too.

Kuai che - If you are in a hurry, from point A to B
Shunfeng che - You can book ahead, say you wanna leave at 5pm, you can book it hours or even days ahead.
VIP che - With this option, you can hail a very touché car, even Hummer Jeep sef - well dressed, kitted up drivers and professional services, for those that value the art of classy arrivals to events.
Gongjiao che - If you are going to switch to public bus midway.
DaiJia - Let's say you hang out and get drunk, they'll send a driver to take you home in your own car.
Self-drive Rental - Self explainatory name right?
They've started selling second hand cars too.

Same thing they did with Wechat. With wechat now, no one needs to look for change after a purchase, you can scan or get scanned to pay for anything and everything, you can send your real-time location, shake your phone with someone at the same time and the phones connect, make new friends within a range, news feeds, mini programs, games + ranking with your contacts, favorites, mobile top-up, paying utility bills etc.

They also support third-party APPs. Classy right?
Education / Re: Covenant University Graduates 238 First Class Honours Students by syspro77: 2:29pm On Jul 21, 2018
HigherEd:
We had a 15% First class turnout! But I believe CU would have done better If they had implemented the third semester system which was initially proposed by the former VC. This would have ensured that people with failed courses could retake the courses during holidays(summer) rather than piling failed courses for people during new sessions.

CU should understand that students who failed during normal semesters are usually too demoralized to learn anything in carryover classes. Plus this carryover classes, especially the likes of CHM212(physical chemistry) are usually overbloated with carryover students that it makes learning uncomfortable for everyone.

Lastly on piling carryovers. The consequences of pilling carryovers in a public uni might be minute and limited but in a private school it is devastating, especially to middle class families who have to dole out an extra 1 million naira.

And for anyone who thinks that CU is producing too much First class degrees please chew on this. There is no telling what people can do if giving the right environment to succeed. And yes some of the numerous people who make First Class degrees in UK universities may find it difficult to replicate in OAU. But that doesn't make OAU better than Lancaster or University Of Edinburgh, but a reflection of a choking system in the Nigerian University System which prioritises difficulty and stress over learning.

Codetemplar
Kudos! You couldn't have said it better. As a graduate and Faculty from the Nigerian system, I totally agree with you.
The US system is such that there are four semesters (two full, two halves) and nobody records a 'C' in a student's result in collating the final cummulative performance. Nigeria's system will even record a fail, not knowing that a student's academic history is not as important as the current form. The best hands don't make it into our Ivory Towers, as lecturers, and cummulative pile of such people ensures there are no improvements. We are still implementing archaic policies that the world have long moved away from.
