beerfraud:Honestly!!! I have come to the rwalisation that we surely speak in different tongues and words meant different things in different cultures. The word "tribalism" is a classical example - zik called yorubas tribalist simply because he lost out on becoming Leader of Govt in the old western region. He claimed, yorubas cross-carpetted to disallow an igbo man from filling that post. I asked, why does an igbo man wants to be the leader in yorubaland? Isn't that act in itself, tribalism? In actual fact, it was zik that introduced tribalism and igbophobia into our political lexicon in the 1940s. |
Fejoku:Trash |
Fejoku:We go desttoy more purportedly "legally acquired properties " in our land and there is sweet F.A anyone of you can do except wailing and gnashing of teeth. You want settle scores with yorubas in yorubaland? Omo, seems like you have not learnt anything from your elders' misadventure in the first republic that led to the civil war. You guys have been threathening to "settle scores" with the yorubas since the 70s so, no shaking |
ariesbull:What is this "eleyi" saying? Yeah yoruba cities are messy YET you guys will not stop migrati g to the same messy cities , in droves . Half of your populations are in the SW |
ElSudani:[iThe reason why zik opted to be bagman to a fulani is not far-fetched nor is it, rocket science. The northerners were far behind southerners, education-wise so during the 1st republic, they actually dominated federal posts in the soth, at least. They would have dominated federal posts in the north too but the sardunna chech-mated their covetousness with his "Northernisation" policy. Even in the western region, they dominated . Achebe mentioned this in his last junk of a book in which, he claimed that ,70% of Nigerian railway posts was filled by them, 62% of ports authority posts were occupied by them, 70% of airways posts went to them. Achebe inferred in his book that it was through mediocrity! [/i] |
Chimookigwe:So, you truly believe these guys wants biafra? What they really want is to dominate nigeria but the fulanis - their erstwhile senior political partner, changed the playing field.. Give them biafra tommorrow and i bet you, a good significant number of them will still want to stay in our region, as a "nigerian". |
gidgiddy:Can you please tell us how Gowon reneged on the Aburi accord? In response to the accord gowon enacted decree 14 and 15 but alas, it was not enough for Ojukwu. What part of aburi accord did gowon failed to addressed with his decrees that necessitated Ojukwu going to war by declaring biafra? I have been hearing this narrative that gowon reneged on aburi and that was why, ojukwu had no other choice/s but war with all its attendant consequnces. It must have been a very significant part of the agreement to Ojukwu. |
mightyhazel:Mechounu jo! You have just being caught at your juvenille attempt at misinformation. Moreover, your gaslighting strategy will not work either. Someone wrote that "most of the uber driverswho drove her around were yorubas" to which you maliciously and deliberately misrepresented as "All the uber drivers in NIGERIA are yorubas". How does your comment (above) correlate with the original post? Instead of you to quietly crawl back to your hideout, hell no, you had to come up with an asinine excuse. Abuja is mini nigeria!!! What a cop-out. Am certain that, deep down in your heart, you don't believe what you wrote about yorubas being uber drivers all over nigeria, but inherent hate will not let you miss any opportunity (no matter, how small) to deride the folks you just love to hate. |
mightyhazel:Pray, point us to the part where the poster wrote that " all drivers in the whole country........" |
Goo0dHardDick:@ bolded................same way you guys don't try all these rubbish, we see in the Sw, in the north. |
Chidollars1994:Omo, keep living in delusion o. Na leg your forefathers take waka reach Lagos so he was a settler in Lagos. As a result, all his generations after are all settlers. Btw, what's your family quarters (agbo-ile) in Lagos? |
Believeintruth:We don't have much but we don't come to your enclaves. Meanwhile, you guys are all over yorubaland..........like locusts |
Believeintruth:And how many igbos came to the Sw with their GMG bags filled with dollars? Economic migrant forming investor |
Believeintruth:So, going by your thought processes , ALL the igbos that came to Lagos on night buses with all their earthly possession in a GMG bags, are investors? Classical gaslighting 101!!! |
gidgiddy:Oh, so you now admit that Ironsi without conducting a plebsicite, UNIFIED our civil service. So, in essence, there was no more western nigeria television service rather, it's now NTA. All the regional civil services were collapsed under the Federal civil service. Ironsi foisted One united Nigeria federal civil service on the rest of us. Zik and his cohorts has been muttering "One Nigeria" since the late 40's. Basically, Ironsi fulfilled Zik's dream with his decree 34. I did not suggest that zik held the power to determine who and when any group seceed from the warped union rather those were your own words to deflect from the key issue which is that, zik opposed the inclusion of secession clause in our constitution. Yes or No? . |
gidgiddy:@ bolded........so too did Zik and his kinsmen. Zik campaign fervently against "regionalism" saying people will have to get visa to "visit" other regions in the federation. |
gidgiddy:Of course, you don't care what zik and his cohorts schemed and fought for, 70 years ago but very perturbed by the fact that nigeria was colonised decades ago. As if nigeria is the only country colonised by others What zik and his kinsmen wanted, over 7 decades ago, the consequence is now staring us all in the face presently. Zik did not want secession clause, he got his way (with the support of the brits, of course.). Zik wanted unitary syatem and he got his way with Ironsi' decree 34. He and his deceitful co-travellers had a 20year plan (in 1944) to dominate the rest of us and they did, in the 1st republic whereby 70% of the federal posts at the nigerian airways went to them, 65% of the pists in the nigerian ports authority went to the same folks, Nigerian railway nko? Over 70% went to them. What about education? All our Unis were VCed by them. Even federal scholarship in yorubaland was monopolised by the same peps. This was why the sardunna slammed his "northernisation " policy , specifically on their greedy lil' ass.es. This earned him the Jan 15th coupists bullets. In essence, what zik and his kinsmen did in the 30s and 40s is what we are grapling with now. . |
gidgiddy:No one said anything about the colonial project called nigeria was dependent on Zik. That was just your usual gaslighting strategy. However it is a FACT that, of all the three regional leaders at the time, ONLY zik was against the inclusion of a secession Clause into our constitution. The colonial master, not wanting the disintegration of her largest colony in Africa backed Zik. As expected, the brits (and by extension Zik and his cohorts), had their way. |
IGBOSON1:No one claimed that Zik arm-twisted bello and Awo during the "secession Clause" debacle. The fact of the matter is that, the colonial master, not wanting their largest colony in Africa break up in the near future, supported Zik's stance and as such the Clause was not inserted into our constitution. |
Jokerman:Omo, don't hold your breath o ![]() The only way Obi will ever get to aso rock is, as a guest.....Lobatan ![]() |
iwaeda:Regionalism or outright seperation. |
esnbrutality:@1st bolded............... I totally agree with you. (Your) God is truly wonderful. See as yorubas are crying. It must gladdens your vile soul to no ends. You ought to organise a street party with your fellow likeminds to celebrate yorubas in kwara state, crying. @ 2nd bolded part.....,........same as you are fixated on yorubas' agony. It's music to your ears. Oh well, knock yourself out. |
Lanretoye:It's in the genes!!! Yhey can't help themselves. Similar thing (as in Ghana) happened in vietnam earlier this year and as expected, similar reactions from the same folks. |
Badca81:[color=#000099]That was very presumptious o ![]() |
I want Odogbolu state, too. There should also be an Ijebu State. |
Uchek:Was the eastern region ALLOWED to seceed by the federal govt? |
ariesbull:Omo sorry o but we don't trust you, if your antecedents is anything to go by. We are brothers nor friends, noÿ evrn neighbours so i guess you know what to do with you unsolicited support. We have never needed anything from you guys and we cerltainly don't have any need foryour fake support, now or ever. . |
Predictor3:Unfortunately (for them, at least), they are still trying, albeit, woefully to actualize their 20 years plan (in 1944) to dominate the whole country . I was watching one of them lauding their character traits the other day, that is, anywhere they go, they dominate, innovate, create etc. No harm in that really however, the problem emerges when the indigenes refused to be dominated in their own by their so-caĺled "african brothers". No body wants to be held hostage in his father's house by foreigners. . |
