I don't know why ibos are the most tormented when it comes to the issue of Lagos. Meanwhile ibos are among the last group of people to get to Eko
Yeah, they came last to Lagos (in the early 1900s). They came, they saw and they want to dominate

With the way you guys are misbehaving, we will soon put policy in place that will forbid any one from selling lands, specifically to you folks.

You guys are not the only one buying lands in lagos but yourwahala is just too much.

Forget these people. They were the ones clapping for Gowon as he enacted Decree 14 that abolished the 4 Regions Nigeria had, and replaced them with 12 new states

The clapped harder for him as he immediately enacted Decree 15 that ended resource control

They the continually lied for over 50 years that Ironsi's Decree 34, a civil service Decree, is what abolished the 4 Regions Nigeria had
Gbam!!! @ bolded, above.

So, you concede that Ironsi's decree 34 unified the civil service. How, if I may ask, do you believe the government of any country, go about fulfilling its obligations to those it governs?

Well... Anything it's possible. I'm not against it as well as it helps Nigeria develop, but his chances are slim.
He can not devrlop nada let alone a complex and populous country like Nigrria.
If he could not develop tiny anambra state after 8 years how logically is it then to expect such a prrson can develop nigeria. It's akin to a fat drowning man clutching at a piece of string. It ain't ever going to keep him, afloat.

In other words, you cannot explain how the 4 Regions that were there the day Ironsi assumed office, were still there the day he was killed? But you know that he abolished the Regions? grin grin grin

Yeah, Ironsi's ghost returned from the dead, scrapped the 4 Regions, and created 36 states
Ok, if you going to be like that then maybe you can explain the point of Ironsi's Unification decree, also known as decree 34?

WHO or WHAT is Ironsi aiming to unite with his asinine decree?

We are in 2925 and you are still about 1960!

The contexts are different, the angles are different between the northerners and old players.. all south should clamour for regionalism but you Yoruba people are something else
But we had regionalism in the first republic , who killed it?

If there were 4 Regions when Ironsi came in, and 4 Regions the day he was killed, you guys are going to have to explain the mystery of how Ironsi abolished Regions when you have 36 states today
Ironsi abolished regionalism - the system of govt. we all agreed and adopted at independence. We were running regional system of govt. That was until Ironsi came in 1966, telling us that, "Regionalism is the bane of Nigeria". This caption was front page news in the dailies of that time.

We were made to believe (by Ironsi and his igbo constitutional advisers) that for Nigeria to develop, we have to be UNITED hence his unification decree. He went on to ban all tribal, cultural and social groups in the country.

By fire, by force, Ironsi was determined to unite the people of nigeria.

Regional government is very much possible in Nigeria, but Northerners will never allow it. They fear it won't be to their benefit, that's why they removed it in the first place and started creating states
Old boy, why are you lying so shamelessly? Haba! Una no de tire ni?

I know, you know that it was Ironsi thaat abolished Regionalism in nigeria with his d.u.m.b decree 34 but you just can't help urself, i guess. Ironsi's decree also nullify the late sardunna's northernisation policy thereby making it possible for igbos to take up jobs in the region.

The name-changing you all saw recently is just the beginning...............

Btw, the phrase "Lagos is no man's land" was first said by Jaja Nwachukwu in 1947.

Read your bolded above, read mine below. What have I said differently.

While you claim the British persuaded the North to embrace a one Nigeria by telling them that they will be oga. Most political office and even military officers was run by the South especially of the Eastern extraction.
You are totally right @ bolded, above. In addition, these folks dominated all the civil services posts in the south including the western region.

For instance, in the Nigerian Ports Authority, they occupied about 70% of the posts.I can only but imagine how those indigines must have felt being disenfrancise in their own space under the guise of One Nigeria.

There is no way in hell that another man from another state will govern Lagos after 2027.

That year will mark the turn of a new leaf in the politics of Lagos state.

GRV is the incoming. The man is detribalized and will welcome everyone else into Lagos without screaming RoNu or "they want to take over our land"
What, in your world is a detribalized nigerian? A man that referred to another ethnic group in a derogatory name and called them "Afonjas" is to you, a detrubalised man.

Nevertheless, it's obvious that he, Chinedu vivour rhodes hates yorubas and as such his political ambition in lagos- a yoruba land is D.O.A!

Why the epistle, man? The man himself claims, he is igbo. Abi, you sabi the man more than he knows himself.

Everyone knows that Ojukwu's father was already a billionaire and singlehandedly funded Britain to success in the 2nd World War.

Though because he loved Nigeria he couldn't do the same for Biafra sha.
When you said " everyone knows......" , are you referring to folks in alaigbo?
As per your claim that na ojukwu's father won the 2nd world war for britain....omo, your nose go long o like pinochio..
