Whichever way folks lean against, i respect but, from a music making perspective, i think Drake is miles ahead .... |
You just mentioned album sales bro. Do you know some people will actually buy your album cos of the poster? Some will buy it cos they saw a picture and liked how you posed and some people might get attracted to a sond cos of the dance on the video no the song itself. Drake mentioned Music and think about this deeply, what does music entail? Does it not include dance and all others?
This talking is about making music tho .... what is Drake making and what is Chris making? How is what they are both making faring in comparison? In a broad context album sales is inclusive, but i am looking at the statement he made .... It is important to understand that he makes better music ... because of the "condiments" he uses to deliver his music, not what he uses to promote it .... you can have the best cook in the world selling from a shack in Ojota, much better than Mama Cass and co! Another example, real Hip Hop fans who know the quality of Nas as an MC wont give a toss whether he has a glossed out album cover bedecked in swashbuckling medallions and high end kicks .... They are buying because of the quality and reputation! If Drake wears a flip flop on his album cover, people will still buy because they know what to expect from him .... Album sales does play a part in a broader context, but we all know that in most cases nowadays, the ones who sell the most is not always the best .... Can you say the fu..cktard who delivered Gangnam Style is a better musician/artiste compared with Rihanna or Durrell Babbs (Tank)? No ... different genres yes, but on album sales alone, Tank has been dwarfed, but still, real recognise REAL! It is not about posing on an album cover or shipping tapes downtown Brooklyn or Agege, we are talking about the weight and quality of the music i am making! |
In this context, "Music" is inclusive of swag, clothing dance.....inshort everything that will make people like your songs more
No i disagree ... Drake said "I make better music than him" He is talking about the music they make not music in a general context ... The context has nothing to do with clothes but i will take "dance" from you, which i can relate to delivery of the music Now think deeper and tell me what you can deduce from the statement above.... In this context i am thinking more along the lines of the lyrical content, the versatility, the vocals, the album sales, the production, delivery etc ...... If you throw all of them in a mixer, the mixer will churn out DRAKE! |
nenergy: Comparison is limitation, he shouldn't compare himself to chris "okechukwu" Brown, because they do different genre of music.Good point there, genre is key and shouldnt be ignored, but genre or not, its all music and if you are looking at a broad comparison, then i guess its cool still! Remember, music is everything from the lyrics, to the vocals, to the delivery, to the versatility and so on ...... And i think Drake is speaking in a broad context that encompasses everything about music .... |
I have to agree with Drake on making better music than Chris Brown ... It's a FACT!!! And as for chopping down Rihanna, not a big deal ... Rihanna has been round a fair few Kiss and tell fellas, get a life! |
No |

trendsng: i needed help on the way you guys run packages here. What package ![]() |
Help you with what?! ![]() Have you just escaped from Yaba left? The rate at which this forum gets thronged by mental asylum escapees nowadays is ridiculous ... The reason why i am asking if you just escaped is because, the escapees when they get to this forum, the open a thread in a similar way as just did! |
splashbaby: Obviously this is transfered aggression...soon we will know why? What are you talking about? I dont have a problem with Seun! If you want a problem, i can give it to you though |
Seun: Those are irrelevant questions. They were given free land because we thought they had much to offer us. Now we know better. That's all.Ok by giving freeland only, you think they can churn out truck load of maize or tonnes of trailer loaded with cassava on a regular basis?! What was sold to them about Nigeria and the facilities available after they got kicked out of Zimbabwe?! Can you thrive in an "agri-business" with the land alone? They are bloody farmers for God sake .... If social amenities, structures, policies, capital/finances and incentives are lacking or tedious to come by in Nigeria, how do you think that will hinder what they can offer?! I am particularly interested in knowing what was sold to those farmers about Nigeria before they left Zimbabwe, and i know you wont have answers to that .. But if your Govt promised them everything they need or are used too outhere, then i dont see any reason why you can conclude that they dont have anything to offer us! I can go on and on ... but i will stop at above for now Over to you! |
Seun: We already know that our government is in shambles. That is not news. What is news is that these guys have nothing to offer us that we don't already have. We don't need their expertise in whining and complaining about the government. We already have that in vast quantities. They have nothing to offer us... Did they beg to come here? Did they forcefully grab your land?! |
arbitrage: I am honestly disappointed at Seun's comments and not necessarily in Seun himself. I feel you simply reacted to this thread based on bottled anger at those strangers and not the content itself. Factual substances were stated that depicted the sorry state of our agro-economy and comparison made with other "not-lousy-like-Nigeria" country of Zimbabwe but all you see from the excerpts is just your "Omo-Onile-like and Niger-Delta-like strangers-have-come-to-steal-our-oil" attitude and utterance. I do not expect such from Seun nonetheless. I expect that if he has such reaction, he will lay it out where those strangers are wrong with their inference.I swear, very daft! I am disappointed in him for that those comments but i cant do much because its his opinion! |
Seun: After getting free land from the government, they are still complaining? I am disappointed in them. I thought they would boost us.You should be disappointed in your Govt and your comments above! Did they beg Nigeria to come here?! It is disgraceful...... And the bigger picture and message the interview is sending across is that Nigeria is absolutely shambles! |
