madam it's very bad, at least respect the dead, ife peeps went too far on this, just look at dead bodies everywhere. Ife people please settle this matter peacefully.

Gosh.. why the killing. I hope Hausa learn to respect there host, you can't intimidate everybody every time.

I don't support killing, but don't make ife people look too bad because they seemed to have upper hand. Hausaa spilled the first blood, they started what they couldn't even endure or end. SO because Ife now killed Hausas in tens or hundreds, we should forget the Hausas who have been noted for not respecting their host cities and dared to first kill someone from the city?
Are the pictures gory and saddening? Yes.

Could the killings have been avoided? Yes, if the Hausas had reasoned like humans and stop being violent upon little issues.

Should Ife people have ran away or watched as Hausas killed their people? NO, I would also kill back in tens/hundreds to send a strong signals to them that your host community are not a weak people.

SO, condemn and tell Hausas to reason like humans and stop killing people whenever issues arise between hausas and non-hausas.
No one, I repeat, No one has monopoly of violence.
I condemn this killing , seeing human dead bodies all over, but Hausas called for it.

I am from MOdakeke, You don't wanna mess with Ife or Modakeke people who have fought wars for years on their home soil, when many of them still have charms and weapons they used during the crisis in their homes.
If you know sunday igboho, as strong, feared and popular as he is today in oyo state, he was molested, chased and would have been killed in Modakeke if he stayed further when he started intimidating people because he felt he was a warrior and feared by many after that crisis. Modakeke made him know no stranger would come and intimidate us here, he fled when he was already 'smelling' death on his head.

Again, respect your host community, you can't practically win them in fight on their soil.

Which reports were saying 5 were killed? See how dead bodies of Hausas littered the whole streets of Ife.
These Hausas got it wrong, Ife/Modakeke that warred for over 3 years will not find it hard fighting Hausas on their soil. I remember few years back when robbers came to Banks in lagere, you needed to see how vigilantes from Ife and Modakeke came out to repel them like they had been waiting for a day just for shoot out exercise.
Ife and Modakeke are very tough people you don't mess with. So sad for these wasted souls. Hoping this crisis has been settled finally?

The question is how did they get registered? Who registered them? Ask relevant question and punish those who allowed that to happen to forestall future occurrence.
The vehicles that have been registered are assumed to have customs' papers. Registration shouldn't be possible without those papers. You want a person who bought and registered his cars years ago to start looking for papers he has long misplaced? Is he suppose to carry those papers in his vehicle after registration? Are the paper renewable? If not why do you think they are not? Because once registration is complete, they are no longer relevant. The whole customs' papers talk for registered cars is illogical, senseless and absurd.
Customs' people are meant to man boarders and prevent smuggling, they are not police, vio or road safety guys and shouldn't constitute another set of headache for motor owners like police and others mentioned have already constituted.

I bet you the guy doesn't know anything about car registration processes, that was why he's saying this. Why carrying custom papers of 5, 6, 7 years ago after registering your car?
Customs just want to inflict another hardship on innocent citizens. Let them secure borders very well and stop harassing innocent car owners who know not how the cars are being smuggled.

When an elected governor of a state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria comes out on television (AIT) to tell the whole world he did not want a democratically elected president then he has overstepped his bounds constitutionally.

Speaking to Gbenga Aruleba on Tuesday (21/2/17) on Focus Nigeria, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose expressly stated that he did not want Buhari from the onset. When asked by Gbenga Aruleba that even after his (Buhari) being democratically elected? The Ekiti governor replied he did not want him even now!

Definitely this response by Fayose is nothing but a rebellious pronouncement on a live TV programme. This is Treason!

It is over to the DSS and other security agencies to let Gov. Ayodele Fayose know that his immunity does not cover rebellious pronouncement to a democratically elected president.

Enough is enough.

LOL, what is your definition of treason? you think any opposition against a president is a treasonable offence.
This is democracy and you can not force anyone to support or like Buhari if such person decides not to like him.

Politics / London Police Called To Arrest The Guardian’s Reporter Over Buhari by tafrica(m): 11:15am On Feb 21, 2017
They told us Baba was Okay and just waiting for test results, we asked that he should speak to us, they didn't answer us. Later, they lied to us Baba was home sick that he would be home soon, yet he hasn't come. Having failed to speak with 'common' Nigerians, Guardian correspondent made an attempt to see his president, he was threatened by UK police, thank God the police there are not just "Yes sir" police men to politicians, perhaps the guy would have been in prison because he just wanted to see his president.
Seems only elites like Tinubu, Dogara, Saraki can now see and speak with our president.
History will have it that we once had a UK based Nigeria's president who only spoke and saw the elites and not 'common' Nigerians

Security staff at the Abuja House in London yesterday called in policemen to arrest a correspondent of The Guardian who was on the premises to see President Muhammadu Buhari and possibly interview him.

When the correspondent told a member of staff at the Abuja House, the official residence of the Nigerian High commissioner to the United Kingdom, yesterday afternoon that he had come to see the president, he replied: “As far as I’m concerned, he’s not here.”

At 2:50 p.m., when a black Mercedes jeep arrived, the occupant sitting by the driver rolled down the glass and asked the The Guardian correspondent, “why are you here?” “When I told him that l was a reporter with The Guardian and l had come to see if the president was there and to interview him, he looked quite irritated and replied angrily: ‘he’s not here, you can’t see anybody here.’ “

In an extraordinary move, two police officers, Constables Marlett and Stock, were called in by the security staff at the Abuja House to arrest the reporter. When both arrived on their motorcycles, they took the reporter’s name and date of birth and subsequently made a check on the national database, before staying around for about 20 minutes and then left.

Prior to that, the security staff threatened the reporter with the police when he called at the Kensington residence to interview President Buhari about his continued stay in the UK.

A few minutes after The Guardian arrived at the Abuja House, just after 1:00 p.m., wanting to speak to the high commissioner, the reporter was directed to go to the Embassy- Nigerian House at Northumberland Avenue. “Somebody should be there,” he was told.

Around 1:20 p.m., when a man and a teenage-looking girl wearing glasses pressed the buzzer, a security officer appeared to open the gate for the duo. When asked:”Is that the daughter of the president?” – judging by her resemblance of the First Lady- the security officer replied: “I don’t know.” He then reiterated that the reporter should go to the office at Northumberland Avenue.

When The Guardian pressed the buzzer about five minutes later, the security man sounded angry and threatened to call the police even when the reporter disclosed his identity and said he had come to speak to the president or any member of staff of the residence. “You should realise this is a private place and I will call the police,” he said. When he was immediately corrected and told that the reporter was standing outside in a public place, he then said:” l won’t speak to you again.”

But around 1:40 p.m., when two guests arrived, the reporter shook hand with one of them and asked, “have you come to see Mr. President?” He replied cheerfully, saying “yes”, but he didn’t enter the compound. He left about 15 minutes later.

Another security officer came out shortly after and told the reporter to move away from the main gate. “Excuse me, you can’t just stand here,” he said.

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, was also at Abuja House, a strong indication that Buhari may actually be there. At 5:13p.m., Saraki emerged from the house in a black suit, accompanied by a male aide.

“Hello, Senate president, hello Senate president,” The Guardian said to him from outside the gate, before he entered an official car and was driven away.

Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has accused the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of politicising the health status of President Buhari by their visitation to London which he described as “make-belief and too much of eye-service.”

Fayose said he had “temporarily suspended” his criticism of the president because of his health challenges. The governor spoke on a live programme tagged, ‘Meet Your Governor’ aired on the state-owned Ekiti Television and Radio Stations on Saturday.

Fayose who prayed for sound health for the president said his desire for a better Nigeria accounted for why he had been criticising the Federal Government when things were not done the right way.

“I don’t have any problem with the president; the only problem I have is with his handlers. They will say something today and say another ‪tomorrow. Anybody can fall sick,” he said.‬‬

Besides, the Anglican Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Rt. Revd. James Olusola Odedeji yesterday cautioned Nigerians against wishing the president dead but rather pray for his health and wellbeing so that he could succeed in delivering his electoral promises to the nation.

Odedeji spoke at the induction and installation of Venerable Adegoke Oludare Agara as the Dean of Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral held at the church in Ikeja, Lagos.

He said: “It is unfortunate in this country that Nigerians do hate their leaders. The rate at which people are willing to wish the president of the country dead is alarming. What are we going to gain if he dies?’’

Politics / 10 Most Corrupt Countries, Ranked By Perception by tafrica(m): 3:45pm On Feb 19, 2017
Corruption lingers at the core of many of the world's underdeveloped nations.

Nigeria, the most populated country in Africa, is perceived to be the most corrupt among 60 countries evaluated, according to data from the 2016 Best Countries rankings. The rankings are a characterization of 60 countries based on a survey of more than 16,000 people from four regions.

In the survey, respondents answered how closely they related each of the 60 countries to the term "corrupt." Respondents were given no further specifications of the term, so interpretation of the word "corrupt" was left to survey respondents.

Elections in Nigeria face scrutiny, even though government accountability is seen as having improved. In 2015, President Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari became the first opposition party candidate to win an election. As part of his presidential campaign, Buhari promised to crack down on corruption.

"When you fight corruption, it fights back," Nuhu Ribadu, the former chairman of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said in a TedX talk in Berlin.

[READ: Explore the rankings, data, video and news from Best Countries.]

Nigeria's former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, is scheduled to face trial on charges of fraud and money laundering, according to Bloomberg. It is the country's first high-profile corruption trial since Buhari took office.

In November, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari attributed this incident – and other alleged abuses of power – to the country's inability to defend itself from other threats, including Boko Haram, an extremist group that began its conquest in 2009 to create an Islamic state.

Russia, seen as the second-most powerful country in the world, is also seen as the sixth most corrupt.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Colombia – a country synonymous with illegal drug kingpins like Pablo Escobar – gives Nigeria a run for its money as the second most corrupt country, based on perception.

Below are the 10 countries perceived to be the most corrupt, according to data from the 2016 Best Countries rankings.

Country Name Corrupt Rank
Nigeria 1
Colombia 2
Iran 3
Pakistan 4
Mexico 5
Russia 6
Algeria 7
Egypt 8
Kazakhstan 9
Bolivia 10

This was my post on a particular thread which reported about how they forged Buhari's signature to sell $19m crude oil to China.
You're wrong. what we call anti-corruption is just a fight against opposition or those that bonce worked for the past govt.
Ask yourself this, if Bachir Lawal, Buratai, COS and several others were in opposition or Buhari's black book, wouldn't he have done something concerning the allegations about them.
This particular corruption was carried out by Buhari's allies and be assured he will not do naything about it.

The same Buhari who openly said Abacha never stole, wrote letter to defend Bachir Lawal is not fighting corruption, just fighting his enemies while he defends his corrupt men. It doesn't take integrity to do this; anyone can use any guise to oppress his enemy for any particular offence while he turns blind eye when his friends do same.

I always tell those who care to listen that they should not celebrate this 'anti-corruption' charade from Buhari and his men. We are simply experiencing another set of thieves (Buhari's allies) while he is just tormenting those he sees as enemies or in his black book.
Buhari was in hurry to arrest Dasuki for the arm scam allegation, he still keeps him jailed after he has been ordered to release Dasuki.
Apparently, this panel was disbanded because Buhari's men were actively featured in the fraud.

Buhari that said Abacha never stole.
Buhari that wrote letter to defend Bachir Lawal.
Same Buhari, whose EFCC has been docile towards petitions against Fayemi, Amaechi and several scam allegations against Fashola.
This same Buhari will disband the arm probe panel when he realises it will indict any of his men. The man is that biased and one-sided.
Does anyone still think we're fighting corruption?

Hell Ruffy failed to arrest those fulanis killing in Southern Kaduna, he even paid them instead. This same man is trying one John Danfulani, another critic of his government, in court. I ask, are the statements from these young men who criticize him and his governance more criminally weighty or dangerous than fulani herdsmen themselves who kill peopple without restriction? Suleiman talked against fulani, they hurriedly sent DSS after him, thanks to Fayose who thwarted the move, now they arrested Audu who has been constanly voicing out against genocide in southern kaduna just because one of his claims was wrong, which he has even retracted and apologised for.
How many have been arrested for accusing GEJ being behind BH, how many were arrested when they said GEJ's son was dead, was Hell Ruffy ever stopped from criticizing past goernment?
Why are these people afraid of criticism?
Apparently, going by this arrest, it's obvious Tuface was bullied to step down from #IStandWithNigeria protest.

It is one John Danfulani, a critic of El-rufai being tried in court, and now Audu after he had retracted his statement and apologised.
I ask, are the critical statements from these men more criminally weighty or dangerous than the murderous fulani herdsmen who go about killing unchallenged?
Audu Maikori, a Nigerian lawyer and CEO of Chocolate City Entertainment, has been arrested by the police. The arrest is linked to his tweets about a fatal attack on his relatives in Southern Kaduna that turned out to be false, his lawyer said Friday.

Mark Jacobs told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Maikori, 41, was arrested in Lagos around noon Friday by a team of police officers attached to inspector-general monitoring and intelligence team and was immediately transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“I arrived at the Force Headquarters and learnt that a detention order has already been signed for him,” Mr. Jacobs said of his client. “I am not sure he will be released tonight.”

Mr. Jacobs said he was told by the police that a magistrate issued warrant for Mr. Maikori’s arrest and are planning to charged him with attempt to “incite” the public.

Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, did not immediately respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ requests for comments Friday night.

The arrest of Mr. Maikori, a vocal advocate for the plight of residents of the restive area, came nearly four weeks after he narrated an attack that purportedly took place in Southern Kaduna.

In a series of tweets on January 23, Mr. Maikori said his driver, later identified as Simon Joseph, told him that he lost his brother in a Fulani herdsmen ambush in Southern Kaduna and will be travelling for burial.

“My driver’syounger brother and five others students of college of education Gidan Waya were ambushed and killed by herdsmen yesterday #SouthernKaduna.

“They were in a commercial car going back to school when the driver stopped suddenly under the pretext of checking his engine #SouthernKaduna.

“As soon as the car stopped the attackers shot all 6 students but let the driver who is Fulani go. He gave us these details#SouthernKaduna.

“When we speak we are viewed as trouble makers by the Govt. Well I have seen the pictures and it’s a painful sight#SouthernKaduna,” Mr.

Social media users became livid after Mr. Maikori’s vivid naration of the purported attack.

The tweets were later picked up by some Nigerian newspaperswithout further checks.

Two days later, Kaduna State College of Education in Gidan Waya, where Mr. Maikori said the students were schooling, issued a statement denying any loss of students to an attack as described by Mr. Maikori.

The Kaduna State Government condemned the misinformation and the reporter responsible for the story in Vanguard Newspaper was arrested and charged.

On February 4, following intense criticism on social media, Mr. Maikori retracted and apologised for posting the tweets in a lenghty article that also offered detailed explanation of how he was misled by Mr. Joseph.

“I hereby tender an unreserved and sincere apology to the Management of the College of Education, Gidan Waya, His Excellency the Governor of Kaduna State and the Kaduna State Government, and also to the people of Southern Kaduna and the Fulani community and also VANGUARD newspapers whose source was my driver for the false statement by my driver which I also publicized believing same to be true,” Mr. Maikori wrote.

Mr. Jacob said Mr. Maikori’s driver was arrested a few days ago in Lagos, and had remained in detention ever since.

Mr. Maikori’s arrest caused social media buzz late Friday, with a prominent human rights activist and legal expert, Chidi Odinkalu, calling for his immediate release.

Mr. Odinkalu, a former Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, was among the first to raise alarm about Mr. Audu’s arrest Friday night.

“They should immediately release him because he had apologised for the tweets and I don’t think the matter is a criminal offence that warrants him being locked up for so many days,” Mr. Odinkalu told PREMIUM TIMES by telephone.

Over 200 have been killed and thousands more displaced in the latest violence between Fulani herdsmen and southern Kaduna residents.

A curfew Governor Nasir el-Rufai imposed in Zangon Kataf was relaxed last week.‎

Mr. El-Rufai said the attackers were herdsmen from neighbouring countries who had returned to avenge attacks on their relatives and livestock back in 2011.

The governor came under fire after admitting he had sent payments to the attackers to compensate for their losses, as part of efforts by his government to end the bloodshed.

A foundation laid by the Nigerian Army for the construction of a military base in the area was destroyed last week.

Now, if another party wins, the new president's men will have the sense of entitlement, they loot anything, impunity and nepotism continues...........and the cycle goes like that

As for being Gifty's fan, she is the HM I despise most (If I can use less weightier word, I don't want to use hate for her); Her accent doesn't look real, she lies and pretends alot, I will rather have her leave the house before marvis xef.

Summarily, I'm not a fan of anyone there. That post was my first here and I only commented seeing some people justifying Bisola's sexapade with TTT while they enjoy attacking Tboss and Gifty. The hypocrisy irks me.

Do you know Bisola and any other HMs can decide not to go into romantic relationship Bisola shares with TTT? But most of these HMs romance, not necessarily because they fall in love, but because they are naturally flirt and also have to do that for Nigerians to love them and keep them in the game.

So why denigrating Gifty and Tboss or any other HM who chooses to follow romance paths in the house, irrespective of how many HMs he/she does it with, but praises/endorses Bisola's own who enjoys her boobs and butt be caressed by a strange man on live TV.

If Gifty is a LovePeddler and Tboss is ashewo, Bisola is one of them or both together. They are all frolicking with strange men using their bodies to get votes and ultimately N25M prize.

Anyone that wants to enjoy the show should go ahead and stop calling HMs names like BBNaija is meant to preach morality.

I hope you get my views? Not a fan of Gifty or anyone yet.

The future of this country looks bleak. Each time I visit nairaland I see citizens of this country abusing themselves, calling names and throwing insults. How did we get here? Can things ever get better in this country? for how long my people? Ourmumudondo!

The elites flourish when they use "divide and rule" for us.
They loot while they come to the public and tell us "PDP or a particular region is corrupt" so we start seeing ourselves as "you are PDP, corrupt party, I am APC, the saint" Even while those in ruling party are embezzling more than the prev ones, we"ll still keep singing "PDP people should be killed, they are corrupt" because we are programmed to do that so that they steal unnoticed.

Imagine grasscutter, Bachir Lawal, while he's yet to be penalized or face any investigation for N250M IDP funds scam, yesterday coming out to address protesters and also talking about PDP's corruption.
Divide and Rule is their method.

See prev NLC protest for fuel hike, they polarized NLC to make the protest ineffective.
Last Tuface's #IStandWithNigeria protest, they brought another version of their own just to disrupt it.

Nigeria is irredeemably corrupt and doomed.

You guys should stop demonizing one HM while holding brief for others.
Gifty is the LovePeddler, Tboss is ashewo, as Bisola also called her, but Bisola, a mother, who passionately kissed TTT on live TV while he caressed her boobs and butt is virgin Mary.

Imagine someone trying to justify Bisola's romance with TTT by saying she isn't aware of TTT's marital status and perhaps felt TTT could be right man for her considering his maturity and age. Who comes to BBNaija to look for life partner

I'm sure many will come here to defend Bisola if she eventually has sex with TTT while you keep slandering Gifty/Tboss who haven't done that.

Not true... I strongly disagree that corruption in this regime will surpass that of Abacha. To say the least, this government has done better than some previous Govt as regarding the fight against corruption. At least we know now that stealing is corruption. What we have today is an outgrowth of unethical practises that past and present administration have failed to control and set right and as its typical of Nigerians we only look for someone to push the blame on. It's high time we stopped the blame game and realise that social and economic growth is our responsibilities too.
