I don't know exactly what's going on between these two governors - Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State. Yesterday Governor Oshiomole blasted Governor Fayose saying; "If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes." Biko what is capering neophytes? Anyway, governor Fayose has replied Oshiomhole via his Special Assistant on New Media. See the press statement after the cut... Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has told the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole to keep his mouth shut and stop meddling in Ekiti State issues. The governor said Oshiomhole lacked moral rights to comment on happenings in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, having locked up the Edo State House of Assembly for over six months. A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka read; "It is unfortunate that we are in a country where people who should naturally bury their heads in shame still speak. "Aides of a supposed Comrade Governor, who look a hapless widow in the eyes and told her to "go and die" ought to know that they lack moral rights to speak in a saner clime. "However, because we are in a Nigeria where anything goes, aides of a governor like Adams Oshiomhole, who relocated the sittings of his State House of Assembly to his bedroom in the Edo State Government House can open their oppressive mouths and defend the indefensible. "Is it proper for a State House of Assembly to sit in the Government House? Should a State House of Assembly complex be put under locks and keys for six months? And can actions taken in the sitting of a House of Assembly held inside the Edo State Government House be said to have stamp of legality? "Here we are with a supposed progressive Comrade Governor perpetuating ilegalities in Edo State with lawmakers of his party, APC sitting exclusively in the Government House where he resides with his wife and children, and instead of his aides to remove the timber in their boss' eyes, they are getting concerned with the toothpicks in another person eyes. "The reality is that whether the APC lawmakers are 15 or 5, the lawmakers cannot sit anywhere else apart from the State House of Assembly. Or are they saying that the National Assembly can also relocate to Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos? "It is our advise that Governor Adams Oshiomhole should solve the problems in the Edo State House of Assembly and stop meddling in the Ekiti State affairs because on June 21, 2014, the people elected their governor in person of Peter Ayodele Fayose, and millions of APC evil machinations cannot stop him from governing Ekiti State for four years." >>>http://www..com.ng/go-and-die-governor-should-keep-shut/ |

There is a strong indication that the rift between the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, and Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has deepened. It was learnt that Bayelsa senators and members of the House of Reps at the National Assembly had joined forces with her against Dickson. The federal legislators, it was learnt, had formed a strong alliance to counter the moves by the governor and his loyalists to deny them re-election in 2015, through zoning allegedly orchestrated by Dickson. The aggrieved federal lawmakers, it was further learnt, had backed the moves by Mrs. Jonathan to replace Dickson with her loyalists in 2016 when the governorship election takes place. Recently, it was gathered that some of the senators held separate meetings with President Jonathan and the First Lady in a bid to perfect strategies to outsmart Dickson, to get the Peoples Democratic Party tickets for 2015 general elections. The governor has been locked in the battle of wits with the lawmakers following their interests to return to the National Assembly for the second and third terms. The governor’s camp was said to have, through stakeholders’ meetings, arrived at decisions to zone the National Assembly positions for the sake of equity, unity and peace. The development has undoubtedly created some cracks in the state chapter of the PDP, resulting in the holding of parallel congresses by the federal lawmakers to counter moves by Dickson’s loyalists. It was gathered that following the development that played out during the congresses, Dickson was angry, particularly at the alleged plots by Mrs. Jonathan to work against his return in 2016, in addition to the gang up by the national lawmakers to have their way. According to Punch, the last week’s visit of the First Lady to the state provided an opportunity for the federal lawmakers to make a bold political statement to Dickson’s camp. At the Samson Siasia Stadium, where the President’s wife had gone to distribute empowerment items and cash to Bayelsans under the auspices of the Millennium Development Goals, all the three senators representing the state were in attendance but Dickson was absent. Mrs. Jonathan had at the event told the large crowd that before they arrived in Yenagoa, the three senators had held a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan prior to the event. A source, who craved anonymity, said that the absence of Dickson at the occasion was a pointer to the cracks in the relationship between the governor and the First Lady. “All these are just passing strong messages to the governor that all is not well. Also, both the First Lady and President Jonathan failed to attend the Bayelsa Thanksgiving Day, even though they were in town then. The battle has just begun,” the source said. But Dickson had said on Sunday that there was no division in the rank and file of the PDP in the state. He maintained that the party was one focused family under the leadership of Jonathan and himself. It will be recalled that the First Lady resigned her appointment as Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service recently, a move many say is because of her problems with Governor Dickson. >>>http://www..com.ng/patience-jonathan-gets-backig-from-senators/ |

And according to TheNation, the police officers are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. They were invited by a landlady in the area to arrest one of her tenants when a fracas ensued. Trouble started when the tenant insisted on taking her bath before going to the police station but the police officers said she should follow them. A fracas ensued and other residents in the area joined the tenant to beat and strip the police officers. The landlady who gave her name as Mrs. Okebuse said she invited the police because she had given the tenants quit notice. She said: “When the police came to make arrest, they started fighting the police. I ran for my life and hid in the other compound.” An eyewitness said the landlady uses police to harass her tenants. “The woman was taking her bath and the police officers refused to allow the woman to take her bath,” the eyewitness said. The state’s Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, who expressed disappointment at the attack, said the police would not take the attack lightly. Adebanjo said the attackers would be made to face the full wrath of the law. He said suspects arrested have already been charged to court. >>>http://www..com.ng/wp-admin/post-new.php |

https://www.gistplaza.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/INEC-1-300x187.jpg The APC, in a statement by its spokesman in Niger state, Jonathan Vatsa, said it discovered that the particulars of voters in seven wards of Shiroro, Gbako and other local government areas were missing and that the voters might not get their PVC. He also called for the removal or redeployment of the state’s INEC commissioner. “The truth is that the areas excluded from the PVC collection have always been the stronghold of APC in previous elections in the state. The inference now falls in perspective on why in the last Niger-East by-elections some of our supporters could not cast their votes because their names were missing from the voter register.” What worries us in the APC is that INEC said that there should be continuous voter registration. The pertinent question is, what becomes of those who have earlier registered but their names could not be traced on the INEC register, as many of our supporters may be disenfranchised before 2015 general elections thereby giving way for rigging and all other manipulations of elections Niger State is notorious for. We are not sure of the neutrality of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Emmanuel Onucheyo, who has subjected himself to the whims and caprices of the government in power. That has justified our previous call that if a free and fair election is to be conducted in Niger State the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state must be removed or redeployed to where his material craving will be tolerated,’ the statement said. >>>http://www..com.ng/niger-state-claims-1million-names/ |
