401kk: No its not.Incorrect analogy, bro. It doesn't address the issue of newly-born 'sons' entering the fray, nor the fact that these sons, despite having received sufficient venture capital, would keep coming back to daddy for bailouts every month just so they can put food on the table. |
Since when did land mass become the consideration for state-creation? The US has a land mass that outstrips ours 10 times over, yet we are already rivalling them for number of states. This is the sort of thing we get for not practising true federalism, fiscal federalism in particular. Were states required to be financially autonomous, spending only that which they can generate, it would greatly reduce government's penchant for wastage, promote hardwork, innovation and creativity, and I doubt we'd have any more incidences of balkanisation of states. Rather, there would be more of bank-like mergers and consolidation to ensure viability. |
It's a pretty straightforward question we've been asked here if Faroukgate is a vindication of OBJ and his likening of the NASS to a den of thieves. The issue isn't about whether or not they apprenticed under OBJ, or who the biggest thief of all is. I'm sure this thread would have been unnecessary had the yeye assemblymen ignored Baba's comments knowing what they know. But given their maniacal protests at his 'allegations', OBJ has definitely earned the right to kick them while they're on the ground. I even consider them an extremely lucky bunch. Things could have been far more embarrassing. Imagine if OBJ had been 'ordered' to appear before them to substantiate his claims and he'd obediently heeded and, in the full glare of the media, had played his video... |
As much as I detest the man OBJ, it's pretty obvious who's laughing now. The fact that this can be happening to Farouk Lawan makes it all the more damning. The writing is on the wall and the letters boldly say V-I-N-D-I-C-A-T-I-O-N! |
Timeless info, bro. I'm surprised it hasn't had a lot more views and comments... |
By God's Grace, so shall we not abandon our responsibility of criticising you and your incidences of terrible judgement, even though they are becoming far too frequent to keep up with! |
@Ejaisky: What's in the Abiola name, and why won't his daughters (Hafsat and Lola) drop it and take up their husbands' last names only? |
Unless she wins Big Brother's stash, ex is what Goldie will be to Prezzo after the BBA House, especially if he wins. |
EUREKA!! GP15: Come to tink of it, Something doesn't add up. That woman (Dame) went everywhere with Jonathan during the campaigns and after. Why would she den hurriedly leave on Monday when he was visiting the crash site? Didn't they visit hospitalized victims of the Abuja blasts together? According to her media aide, she left Lagos at exactly 1:15pm on Monday. Jonathan had already arrived Lagos at the time to visit the crash site. And we are to believe she left just like that? Without visiting the site? Something is CERTAINLY NOT RIGHT here. |
Stop already! There are tons of aggrieved folks out there, the university governing council and alumni association inclusive. What these ten have done is a cheap attempt at hugging the limelight. Can they really see this through to a logical end? This matter calls for synergy and cooperation. They should have given their principals benefit of doubt and taken this step only if those ones seemed to be developing NLC-kind cold feet. |
Rescues three kids from crash site, ke? If I hear! Na Spiderman?? If na so, him for kuku wedge the plane before e reach ground na! Mstchew!! I was already picturing Fashola in a cape, swooping down into the burning mass to rescue the kids. Compassionate, ko? Thank God he'd recalled the striking doctors before this crash. Perhaps, they'd have been ferrying the wounded to Ogun State or something. Had there been any needless deaths owing to doctors non-availability, he'd have put the tombstone on his own grave. An otherwise good man with one too many ill-advised policies... |
GEJ can visit Iju-Ishaga as many times as he wants. He can offer a gazillion words of sympathy. He can also summon all the forensic experts to investigate what went wrong. It would all be worth NOTHING if people are not brought to book and negligent acts punished severely to serve as a deterrent. The findings of this latest round of probes in the life of this administration should be given some teeth and allowed to bite real hard this time. People can afford to be sarcastic only if you give them a reason to be. |
Yet another insider embarrasses Mr President on this matter, lending credence to the whole 'clueless' talk. Clueless, or perhaps, the PDP (GEJ inclusive) actually does know something the rest of us don't. I still recall the CAN leadership giving GEJ an unusually warm welcome during his campaign with the man Oritsejafor basking in the euphoria, lapping up all the attention, and unconditionally giving his endorsement. We all know where the buck stops. If only these 'men of God' would start to hold the president accountable and not just oppostion politicians. How that would make him sit up! But will they? Can they? I think not. They seem to have been heavily compromised. |
