PoliticsRe: Fuel War Brews As Dangote Presses Tinubu To Ban Imports by Talkisneeded(m): 12:18pm On Jul 28, 2025
AMINDA:
Do you know what monopoly means? Has Dangote stopped anyone with a refinery license from building a refinery in Nigeria to compete with him? Why should he be competing with cheap impure fuel from Malta when he just invested 25 billion dollars in building a refinery in Nigeria? What now happens to buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria and the much touted "Nigeria First" policy.
Let’s have over five working refineries first, the monopoly and refinery license will be better then
RomanceRe: The Omo Iya Alagbo's Tale by Talkisneeded(op): 10:48am On Jul 28, 2025
Five days after:
The morning sun sneaks through my curtains, painting my small Ikorodu apartment in gold. I’m sitting on the edge of my bed, staring at my cracked phone screen. Taiwo’s message glows like a lifeline: “Let’s take it slow, okay? No games, no lies.” Her words spark hope, but the memory of Adedayo slamming my door and Olamide’s unanswered text cling to me like the damp heat of a Lagos afternoon. I had sent olamide a text message early this morning, letting her know about my intentions of ending ending and I knew she wasn’t going to give in easily to my request…
This apartment—my sanctuary of incense and candlelight—feels heavy today. Faded Wizkid posters and a framed photo of me and Adedayo from our poly days stare back. In that photo, his arm’s slung over my shoulder, both of us grinning at a beer parlour in Abeokuta. “Boboyii, na man you be,” he used to say. Now, I’m not sure what I am. A betrayer? A man chasing redemption? Or just a guy who can’t say no to temptation?
My phone buzzes, snapping me out of it. A voice note from Olamide. My thumb hovers over the play button, a knot twisting in my stomach. Against my better sense, I press it.
“Wetin be this ‘we’re done’ nonsense?” Olamide’s voice cuts through, sharp with her thick Yoruba accent. “You think you fit just dump me like that? After everything? I know you felt something last night, omo iya Alagbo. Don’t play with me. Meet me tonight, or I go tell Adedayo say e never finish.” Her sultry laugh sends a shiver down my spine.
I clench my jaw and delete the message. Olamide’s not just a temptation—she’s a storm, and I was naive to think she’d let go easily. I can’t let her pull me back, not when I’m building something real with Taiwo, not when Adedayo’s trust lies in pieces. The faint aroma of last night’s egusi stew lingers from my kitchen, grounding me. I need to clear my head before meeting Taiwo.

By 6 PM, I’m at Cafe 23, tucked in a bustling corner of Ikorodu. The wooden tables, scarred from years of use, and the chalkboard menu boasting “Naija’s Best Amala” create a cozy vibe. The clink of mugs and chatter mix with the scent of roasted coffee beans. I adjust my white polo, nerves jangling like loose change. I picked a table by the window, where dusty blinds filter the sun into stripes across my hands.
Taiwo walks in, and the room feels brighter. Her white sundress hugs her curves, swaying above her knees, her braids swept into an updo that shows off her neck. She’s got a beaded purse, her steps confident but her eyes cautious, like someone who’s been burned. When she spots me, her lips curve into a hesitant smile, and my heart does a flip.
“You dey early o,” she teases, sliding into the chair across from me. Her jasmine-and-vanilla perfume hits me, anchoring me in the moment.
“No fit keep you waiting na,” I say, flashing a grin to hide my nerves. “How you holding up after the trip?”
Taiwo shrugs, fingers tracing the menu’s edge. “It was heavy, you know? Burying my auntie brought back memories of my mum. But Kehinde was there, and family makes it bearable.” She pauses, her eyes softening. “Thanks for checking in while I was gone. Those late-night texts… they meant a lot.”
My chest warms. Our daily texts—long chats about her fashion sketches, my music dreams, and Lagos madness—felt like a tether. “I enjoyed them too,” I say softly. “You make talking easy, Taiwo.”
Her smile carries a flicker of doubt. “I need to ask something, and I want you to be straight. Olamide… is she still in the picture?”
The question hits like a punch. I lean back, exhaling. I promised no lies, and I mean it. “I told her we’re done,” I say, keeping my voice steady. The look on her face puzzling…
I nod, my throat tight. “I get it. I’m not perfect, but I’m trying. I want to be someone you can trust. Just… give me time to prove it.”
She studies me, then nods. “Okay. No games. I’m serious.”
We shift to lighter talk—her plans for an online fashion store, my herb blends, the chaos of Lagos traffic. We laugh over Ikorodu’s NEPA cuts and the time I nearly set my kitchen towel on fire cooking jollof rice. Beneath the banter, something deeper stirs, a fragile hope taking root.

As we leave Cafe 23, the sky’s a blaze of orange and pink, the air cooling as evening settles over Ikorodu. Taiwo pauses on the sidewalk, her eyes catching the light. “I had a good time today. Let’s do this again, yeah?”
“Anytime,” I say, my smile real. “Maybe next time I’ll cook for you. No promises it won’t be poison, though.”

CrimeRe: The Most Intelligent Boy In My Secondary School Days That Defrauded A Bank Dead by Talkisneeded(m): 1:20pm On Jul 24, 2025
Grupo:
This story is likely an urban legend.

How did your friend become a bank manager at the age of 22. It's almost impossible. In fact, it's impossible. Unless you are telling me he graduated from the university at the age of maybe 15.

Also, mention the name of the bank he defrauded. If anything like that happened, it would have been all over the news.

Lastly, in this present age, it is almost impossible for a single individual to pull of such large scale financial heists. Especially in banks where there are dual controls to checkmate stuff like that.

My verdict is that this a typical akuko mma Ngozi na ndi yard
I heard a story recently of a bank worker who stole 100 milli plus from the bank…

killing drug traffickers doesn't mean protecting your citizens, educating them on the dangers of using them does.

When there's no market, the business will collapse.

Womanizing is outdated, there are better and safer ways to enjoy oneself.sex is overrated.
Same ways cigarettes companies writes “smokers are liable to die young and bet companies writes gamble responsibly…

You can educate against something that gives insane dopamine…
Better to eradicate it once and for all
