Me_Aboki: Most sensible response so far.

In addition to yours above, where was he when ASARI DOKUBO was threatening war (not once) should Nigerians not vote Johnathan or when Igbo movements were making secessionist statements openly with impunity.

Kaita's alleged threat of secession represents only one a few of such isolated cases from the north; whereas the same cannot be said for the south - besides, you need not to go any further than the author himself because he is guilty of exactly the same offence - though it is typically not surprising because we all know that hypocrisy runs deep in ppl below the River Niger.

He must also either be dishonest or intellectually lazy not note and understand that the predominant view in the north is not necessarily questioning (though some would disagree) Johnathan's constitutional right to run but simply holding him to honour his much publicized agreement - which even the BBC covered.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12339017

Southerners continue to sell themselves short when they keep touting their much over-used propaganda of 'born to rule mentality' against the north because they end up exhibiting themselves as bereft of logical reasoning and blatantly as dishonest co-travellers.
Those who continue to believe this fallacy should pls ask themselves the following questions:

1) Why would northerners willingly cede power to the south, when by all indications they had complete control and the capacity to continue ruling - if not to give peace a chance - how does that reconcile with a born to rule mentality?
2) Who brought OBJ, a southerner from the shadows of death, placed him in Aso Rock and continued to support him even against open rejection by his own ppl? - (time flies, doesn't it, and they have already forgotten).
3) Why would the so called 'born to rule' agree to share power through rotational presidency (when they didn't have to) even though it was evidently a dishonest distortion of the principles of democracy - and what does that say of about those insisting upon it?
4)Why would northerners also accept geopolitical zoning knowing fully well it was a disadvantageous ploy by southerners to neutralize their political numerical advantage, in order to up southern chances to the presidency - again, how does that translate to born to rule mentality?

If FFK is suddenly feeling guilty about offending the Igbos, with regards to his tell all 'I tapped it first' prenuptial intimate saga with their demised hero's wife, Bianca; then he should come out openly and apologize to them for his alleged crime and in not resort to appease them through maligning northerners, like some sort of sacrificial offerings in order to wash off his perceived sins.
Even if other people have (conveniently) forgotten, i vividly remember Gej promising to rule for just a single tenure. I also remember nocturnal meetings between Gej & Tinubu which lead to the SW region dumping Ribadu by the wayside in exchange for Tinubu's freedom from corruption charges by the fg. I also believe that for the sake of peace and stability in this country, Gej should forget about the 2015 elections even if it means anointing a northern successor (al Mustapha my candidate) but that doesnt mean i will support careless utterances by people who are supposed to be advisers and our elder states men. Ok

PoliticsRe: Rivers challenges Okonjo-Iweala on crude oil earnings by talktimi(m): 8:46am On Dec 06, 2013
It still baffles me why Amaechi used billions upon billions of naira for a cosmetic monorail project to nowhere and which the next ten administrations will never be able to complete while yet he wants to collect foreign loans to provide potable water for Rivers people. Which should have come first in a scale of preference between the two projects knowing fully well cash at hand used on the monorail white elephant would have gone a very long way to solve the water issue. Smh for some dafties
PoliticsRe: From Taxes To Illicit Flows: How Can Effective Development Co-operation Mobilise by talktimi(m): 8:35am On Dec 06, 2013
Many African leaders like foreign aid because nobody asks them how the money is eventually spent. The inefficient tax regime in Nigeria can be remedied if and only if the fg/state govts are ready to get their acts together after all its not nuclear physics to appropriately tax your citizens, there are adequate models that can be copied from across the world. Nigeria hasnt really done much to diversify from crude oil dependency apart (maybe) from the agricultural sector. I suggest the invitation of foreign firms into our redundant solid mineral sector, we already have the Chinese doing lots of illegal gold mining in parts of the north meanwhile this can be a veritable foreign exchange earner for this country. Nigeria can be great only when we the people and the leaders decide to think and act towards it. Thank you
PoliticsRe: **The Nerve Of Kaita And The Shame Of Mohammed** By Femi Fani-kayode by talktimi(m): 5:46am On Dec 06, 2013
Junaid Mohammed actually made his threat of a bloody 2015 based on the assumption of the SW being a major ally in the blood bath, his utterances are simply despicable and unbecoming of an elder statesman who has lived his life but obviously who doesnt want the younger generation to live a long and fulfilled life also. Much as i've always been a critic of Mr Fani - Kayode since i believe he at times doesnt put his obvious brilliance to good use, i have no choice but to commend him on refusing to be a tool for bloodshed out of the greed of some people who should be reflecting on their lives by now. I also expect other yoruba leaders/elders to rise up and say no to the SW being used as a tool for violence. Gej and indeed any other incompetent politician can and must be removed only by the power of our votes. God bless Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Okorocha May Contest Presidential Election In 2015 by talktimi(m): 3:47am On Dec 06, 2013
In other words, you "may" dust up your political pr0stitution skills and dump the APC since the party's presidential ticket is obviously not going to you since your party is definitely going to borrow a presidential candidate from the PDP.
PoliticsRe: Lagos, Rivers, Delta Lead Others In Internally Generated Revenue, IGR by talktimi(m): 3:41am On Dec 06, 2013
Lagos & Rivers have always been amongst the states that can survive without federal allocation, Delta is operating below potential in my opinion since i know they can do much much better along with Anambra & Abia states who should be among the top 5 in igr in Nigeria considering the commercial nature of those states. But i want to ask why the Rivers state govt sank billions of naira into a monorail project that wont be completed in the next ten administrations and yet wants to take a loan to provide potable water for its populace at the tail end of its administration. I think there should have been an order of priority in project financing.

PoliticsRe: wa by talktimi(m): 9:08am On Dec 05, 2013
gramci: lame excuse, you want us to believe Tinubu wasted eight years just to pave way for fashola. So what happened to Lagos State eight years allocation?
No, he's actually trying to say Lagos didnt receive one kobo of fed allocation for 8yrs and Tinubu used those years to think how to overcome the issue which is more important than utilizing th igr of the state.

which enmity are you talking about ? I dey laff you. Pre 2011 elections Tinubu visited Gej in the mid night and had his corruption charges dropped, he came out and told you people to vote for individual and not party. Immediately i heard that rubbish i told Ribadu sorry and drank enough booze on election day while you guys suffered under the sun/rain. Support politicians blindly at your own peril, shebi you saw where they wrote an apc man presided over plenary when this discussion took place in the senate ?
