Dear V.O,
I have a visa that expired in August 2012, and according to new rules on the drop box system, i believe i am still within the four year gap to use the drop box system, is it necessary to attach bank statements and other supporting documents while making the drop box renewal?

a lot of people look hungry and desperate in suit. It's not a formal interview for job. It's a visa interview mr man. Your Agbada can get you visa.

Looking hungry in a particular apparel goes both ways, dont you think. Agreed An agbada can get one a visa Mr. man, but i strongly believe a formal dressing conveys some level of seriousness. Besides i earlier made the point that a visa interview is 80 percent one's interaction with the Visa officer.

Responsible people gave advise here that I followed and it worked for me, so I see no reason I can't tell others what worked for me based on my experience. All ideas are needed to support ourselves, if you have what can help others kindly send it here instead of looking for a way of antagonising others.

I am not antagonizing you, i only disagreed with you. and i believe what i said can also help someone. You shouldn't start whipping up unnecessary sentiments! A tie doesn't deny one a VISA! That's just one of the points i wanted to convey and i still hold on to it.
Secondly, i have posted my transcript weeks before today since i benefited from the forum as well. so calm down.

Mikkyphaton:
I heard the student visa interview is done everyday but does that mean I can book on anyday I wish and be given or I need to wait for available space which may affect my departure day and other things cos am still waiting for my i-20 to come and also am supposed to resume January 7. Also what do you guys think is the best time to deadline for booking of the interview for someone who anticipates going January 7. Thanks all
.
i would advise that you wait for your i20 to come, but in the meanwhile u can mail your school to expedite action on the i20. presently regular available dates now are as from January 12th. but if you get your i20, book an appopitment and after that apply for an expedited appointment, this you will do while attaching your i20 as proof to show that ur interview date is later than ur date of resumption. they will gladly open up closer dates for u.
thanks. i hope this helps u if you havent gotten help already.

pls I have an issue..... I have apply to a college in Texas Usa and expecting admission very soon but yesterday am travelling down from ife to ondo and arm robbers collect all our luggage which inside my bag my international passport that i use for the processing of the admission is inside.
please nairalander advice on what to do,should I go and process a new international passport or i should collect police report and court avidafit and lodge complain in the immigration headquarter in abuja that I lost my passport.
and hope it won't affect my visa application in usa embassy.
Well since it was stolen, you will require a police Extract and an Affidavit of fact. armed with this, you can make an application for re-issuance of a new international passport. Secondly, since its a post issuance application, it can only be processed at the Immigration Headquarters Abuja.

Good Luck!

@walspring & co, Men thanks guys for the tips, the questions centered on what you guys "tipped". A 30 minutes interview came down to 10 mins, the Prof over hear my phonetics, come dey ask me if i school for U.K with the mix of my nigerian and british accent, loolz, i politely said no, and told him i have been speaking this English since the age of three.
i swear the school don give me wahala taya. i have applied to 3 schools already and they all gave me admission, just looking at my documents... U of H, Tulane, New Orleans and University of tulsa, but this Oklahoma people dey worry.
hopefully, the Letter go come this week,
However the man noted something important which i wanna share with you guys, he said that 20 % of the students in their College of law over the years have been NIgerians. From his interaction with them, he has discovered that their spoken English is always good but when it comes to written English, they always struggle (Maybe due to time allotted in exams and tests etc.) This issue he noted translates to poor grades. (maybe the reason most schools insist on English Proficiency)
Maybe we guys going over there to study should watch our written English.

Walspring:

Expect general question, am sure s/he want to see and observe your level of communication in English either verbal or speaking aspect, if you can also understand him/her during the interview and so on and I think you will access generally and get ready to talk about yourself, why the school, why the course and your profile.

Thank You.

LLM here in US? I don't know much abou it. How would it be relevant upon return to Nigeria? If it's Tax and International Law then understandable

LLM or Masters in Law is basically same all over, you have international law, oil and gas , Energy and natural Resources Law, Environmental, Tax, intellectual Property... etc.... take for instance in Nigeria, in Energy and Natural Resources area, there are a few experts on Renewable Energy or even Environmental Law, Naija needs legal experts in such fields. so as for the relevance, it is overwhelming.

secondly, for a lawyer who may not be interested in litigation it helps in relaunching his/her career. LLm serves a s leverage to get into some multi companies......

Nice one bro.. You've atleast actually helped yourself by reading through some parts and pages to gather some info yourself unlike those my padis that always want to be spoonfed..You are a guru to have secured an admission to study LLM in US(heard its always hard for Intl students to get admitted & study american law cc slimmy05 imperiouxx bigfrancis21 Ojap Abeg shey na true?). Most LLM programs doesn't require GRE but you can go ahead with TOEFL/IELTS(Pls make sure you write TOEFL/IELTS even not required by the school). Also, you not having the same surname with your sponsor is not a problem, just explain how related you are to the VO. The scholarship from the government is a Boost for you bro.. All the best
thanks @Profojah..... i will keep u guys posted.

hello guys............. been reading all the posts from part 6. interesting stuff, i have learnt a whole lot of things............ but i have a couple of questions,i am going in for LLM(MASTERS IN LAW) Most Universities do not require GRE but TOEFL or IELTS, however after considering my academic records , they always grant my waiver request. so i do not intend writing the IELTS,
i secured a government scholarship, however it does not cover my living expenses, does it hurt if i use an uncle's SOA despite the fact that we dont share same surname?

i believe some of you can offer some pieces of advice to me.
