Politics / How Can INEC Server Get Hacked To Death -by Micheal A. Adeniyi by tapread: 11:55am On Feb 28, 2023
I have watched what is playing out at the independent electoral commission (INEC) collation secretariat at the ICC carefully and I can say that a process lacking accountability and transparency is a sham. INEC server and iRev is meant to be a verification center for collation of result.

Across the world, there has been reports of cyber crime such as hacking, cyber hijack and there has also been top notch cyber security system as well. Over the weekend has been barrage of accusation and support for BVAS bypass and the many excuse of hack attempt by hackers as the reason why INEC jettison the use of iREv systems, and this is being said to be why iRev cannot be used during the collation of result of the just concluded election by members of the ruling party APC, the APC was a party privy to the arrangement of BVAS and iRev, in fact, it took the party days lecturing people on how BVAS to iRev will be used to verify numbers of voters and even results from polling unit.

Just this morning, I have seen a number of justification by some few Nigerians about how the INEC server was hacked, this politically motivated people are indirectly saying that iRev must not be a requirement when indeed what the online information collation does is to ensure accountability and accuracy from all polling units across the country. If this excuse stands then what must have happened to the number of servers used by the federal government, has out national ID servers been hacked also.

First of all, INEC got a budget of 305bn and a report of hacking will mean the election cannot stand, because a weak cyber verification process meant information computed on it cannot stand. No political party has its own BVAS nor does any party have INEC unique paper which can be used in fraudulent manner to upload fake result, if that can happen, trust me what happened offline is worse, if parties have INEC log books then they rigged as well. I have seen member of the ruling party say there was attempt to hack INEC server 167 times, my question is, are the hackers successful in hacking it. If yes, anything on iRev becomes a scam, also did political parties say their votes have been tampered with on paper and not uploaded in reel time on INEC server? In such case the reality is checked! Did they have a request for manual cross checking accepted? If NO, something is wrong. INEC as an umpire should be able to do a valid check when collating. This is a standard procedure in computing.

Why did INEC promised a real time reel of results from polling units when it will not have to use the process, why did it take funds to create servers and ensure cyber security, why did it fail to use a process it got funds for or is INEC telling us that it’s IT department lacks the power to provide cyber security. I may not know what definition of hack is, but many of you use a bank account that has never been hacked, and very well, you visually track all your expenditure against your bank balance to confirm if there has been an unauthorized withdrawal, over charging and all sort. Why is it now that grown up who own a bank apps running on a server believe that INEC server was hackable.

The goal of a free, fair and transparent election has been defeated without the iRev, also, if truly every party agents have a result why not compare what is at hand to what is on the server to confirm if truly hacked, or you mean other political parties are not privy of the number of votes they got in the election and that they have no right to object to an inaccurate data?

There is nothing like INEC server hacked to death, there is nothing like that, the election has not been transparent and cannot be said to be credible, when the perimeter for credibility has been removed, this leaves us with the question; Will the President ensure credibility and accountability or will it throw both under the bus as he winds down his tenure. What was witnessed by political parties in this election can be described as procedural failure which now cast aspersions on the whole process.

Party agents have complained that people are disenfranchised and that some party engaged in a “boost your loss spree” by altering votes in every polling units to shore up with winners, at least. If the INEC server has truly been hacked to death, if truly a system that takes data from BVAS machines only can be said to be hacked, then what happen to manual verification by party agents with records of votes, are they saying some political party have their own BVAS? If that is the case, I call on President Buhari to cancel this election and ensure a more secure process with the iRev server which serve as the only verification platform for the nation.

Politics / The Presidency And IGP Must Learn To Promote Policemen Who Harass Nigerians by tapread: 6:33am On Apr 01, 2022
The Presidency and IGP must learn to promote policemen who harass Nigerians by @9jaclicktivist

The solution to police harassment lies solely in the hands of the IGP. The IGP is appointed by the President.

This is not a political approach or anti government sentiment, this is what really put the police commission hierarchy on the verge of barrage of questions like, 'Is the IGP really against police brutality?' 'are police ever our friends' 'are the police sent out to kill the Nigerian youths and Nigerian dream?'

Yes, the Presidency and IGP are to be blamed for police brutality.

Here is why the President and the IGP are to be blamed for the police harassment on law abiding Nigerian youths: Why has the presidency and IGP not set out to create a department for reportage of a officer by citizen, the reports are not to punish or dismiss such officers but to promote such officers to where trigger happy officers are needed the most. I mean when the department receives at least 5 report of an officer from at least 5 people with no criminal records, such reports should elicit a quick promotion of such officer to the defense line against Boko Haram, bandits. This could be the most effective way to promote this officers who harass the Nigerian youths and promote themselves as ruthless. They will never run away from the battle field and go AWOL, and if they do, they only need to resign and face the code of conduct for their misdeed. I am proposing that this system be adopted if truly, the FG and IGP is truly not in support of the harassment and brutality on innocent Nigerian youths. When this system is approved, we will have the trigger happy leading the war against Boko Haram. There will be no flaws because 5 people without criminal records are not an enemy of a police officer or criminal who wants him transferred due to bias or ulterior motives. So the Policemen and the youth are safe if truly they are Nigerian youth under a administration who intended to promote safety and security while upholding justice.

Perhaps we can only vote for a president who is ready to ensure this necessary reforms.

The Next Policeman To Harass Me In Nigeria Will Slump And Die, I Have Summon The Gods by @9jaclicktivist

To people who are security conscious, the title of my article seems incredulous, but the truth is that in search for Justice, only one way seems faster and potent because God gave it to us, our local powers, the powers of our forefathers, this powers hate injustice and does not forgive such, they hate sins and will not fight wrongly, they are only useless when used for injustice, they hate crimes scenes, but very potent in administering instant justice.

I have been to a number of country and I can confirm that in the aspect of Justice and security system, Nigeria is currently the worst. To most young Nigeria returning home it seems Nigeria is no longer their home. It seems happiness and joy is not a necessity in Nigeria for the youths.

The world need to understand that most Nigeria youth are not criminal, rather the security system being operated is a crime scene. I have questioned if I was Nigerian in the last 3 days. I couldn't even believe that in the last 3 days I have been harassed over 6 times.

In Nigeria, I put it to you that the police will profile you for no reason if you are between 18-45 without a political parents or political position. It is true that almost every Nigerian youth have tasted the brutality of the police and it seems surreal that life is already in danger in the hands of the police. They operate in funny ways when conducting search, they  point a gun to your car like an officer who was trained for trigger happy hours, or one targeting a terrorist marked for death while telling you to park, it only takes a tap to kill, then they put it straight to you that what business do you do if they wish to be a little bit nice at first, in most cases they only as affirmative questions like ( "I know you young boys, you are a criminal, or eh?"wink, after showing them your identity, they asked you to bring out everything on you, then they go for the funds, they batter you if you try to ask them to do their job but not to invade your privacy without a warrant, In most cases they force the youths to unlock their phones while the police make comments like "In 15 years of service I cannot even afford your phone" when men of the Nigerian force talks it sounds like voices of a men out there to rob valuables because they could not afford it..

Are the police in Nigeria this way because they think any youth who can get-by in Nigeria must be a criminal? I have been in many places, even in many African countries the population of affluent and successful are 18-50 and it is because they are regarded as the working class who work for their pays, is the perpetual unemployment the reason every Nigerian youth must be a failure, the country looks like a crime scene. Every Nigerian need to do beyond calling on international communities and seeking connection intervention, or superior voices, we need to all starts speaking to the gods who makes justice so instant with God.

As from now on, any Nigerian police officer who harass me will slump and die. I have spoken to my forefathers in the language they understand. If I have not done anything wrong, death is a sure thing. I know I am not God but I have spoken to him in the fastest means

The solution to police brutality in Nigeria is simple, and that is the reason we need to hold the Presidency, the IGP, the police commission accountable.

The Presidency and IGP must learn to promote policemen who harass Nigerians

The solution to police harassment lies solely in the hands of the IGP. The IGP is appointed by the President.

This is not a political approach or anti government sentiment, this is what really put the police commission hierarchy on the verge of barrage of questions like, 'Is the IGP really against police brutality?' I was taught not to ever empower my hailer if I want to succeed, I was taught: a lover and a critics is what I need in life. I was taught how to think beyond shenanigans, my mother will say hailers wiIl hail you to your grave, I help more Buharist even though I am not happy with the Buhari leadership, even though I am not a politician, many PDP members are on this table. PDP does not appoint based on party affiliation, check OBJ era even till GEJ, many of this men you call enemies today paid and campaigned heavily for Buhari to come-in in 2015, to us PMB had failed in many areas, they tell it to his face, to you who wanted the pot of soup and careless about Nigeria, you cared about a cooked soup, well, that soup is reserved for family members and known guests.

Make sure you transfer the hailing technics to your grand children. They may be lucky. Make sure you put "I sell only to hailers and Buharist on your stale" when you want to buy, do vice versa" you must print your own hailers money, when you get to the embassies, say you are an Hailer and not Nigerian. You said you are a Nigerian first? Tell me, who screwed your brain into reset. Shameless hailers. Festus Adedayo wrote past bad leaders out of office, Onemola did too, but think of it, even when in APC Saraki appointed Onemola, and he worked perfectly well for him even in PDP.
Politics / Why People Born Before 1, October 1960 Are Not Citizen Of The FRN by tapread: 11:36am On Apr 14, 2019
Why People born before 1, October 1960 Are Not Citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by Birth by Micheal A Adeniyi

The section 25 of our constitution talks about Citizenship and rights to become a leader in Nigeria. Here are the criteria to verify if you are a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by birth, Section 25 (a) Every person born in Nigeria after the date of independence (October 1, 1960), either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents belongs or belonged to a community indigenous to Nigeria; Provided that a person shall not become a citizen of Nigeria by virtue of this section if neither of his parents nor any of his grandparents was born in Nigeria. (b) Every person born outside Nigeria either of whose parents is a citizen of Nigeria.
The date of independence" means the 1st day of October 1960.

I enjoin you to read section 10 of the 1963 constitution, we can all skip section 10 of the 1963 constitution, let's check through history. On January 1, 1914, Lord Frederick Lugard, the governor of both the Northern Nigeria Protectorate and the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria, signed a document consolidating the two, thereby creating the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria. Those born before 1960 are not citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeia by birth, they belong to a non existing country called Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria.

Lurd Lugard did not even create the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN), what he created was the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria. Those born before 1960 are not citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeia by birth, they belong to a non existing country called Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria, they all naturalized. Many people seems not to understand that the constitutional conference of 1953 was all about the set up of a New country. At the conference held between July and August in London. It was decided that " Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria would now become a new and truly federal state with limited and specific powers allocated to the federal government and residual powers inhering in the regional governments."

Here, Colony of Protectorate of Nigeria constitution changed after independence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? The section 25 concerning citizenship was amended how many times? do we need to invalidate section 10 of the constitution at this time? Maybe.

Colonial era (1914–1960) constitutions were enacted by order in council during the colonial era, when the country was administered as a Crown Colony. Again, thew was enough stress on Colony of protectorate of Nigeria.

The federal Republic of Nigeria constitution was born at independence, Nigeria's first constitution as a sovereign state was enacted by a British order in council so as to come into force immediately upon independence, on 1 October 1960. Under this constitution Nigeria retained Queen Elizabeth II as titular head of state.

This was a tensition period from Colony of Protectorate of Nigeria to Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Independent Federal Republic of Nigeria's second constitution established the country as a federal republic. It came into force on 1 October 1963 (Nigeria's third anniversary as an independent nation). The 1963 constitution, which was based on the Westminster system, continued in operation until a military coup in 1966. 1963 brought changes such as a redesigned map, a flag that represented Nigeria, coat of arm, Federal Republic of Nigeria stamp, and so on.

Microsoft has an insect infestation to thank for its classic Windows XP desktop background—an image that has graced at least a billion computer screens since the system’s 2001 launch.

Napa Valley spent most of the 1990s trying desperately to curb the spread of phylloxera, a microscopic pest that was devastating its grapes. By the time the epidemic had run its course in 1999, some 50,000 acres of fields had been decimated.

Although the cost for growers was astronomical—half a billion dollars in total—the landscape of Northern California had never looked more idyllic. Endless rows of grapevines had been replaced by a lush carpet of grass, dotted here and there with wildflowers.

Foreign Affairs / China’s Dog Meat Festival Opens Despite Ban Rumours by tapread: 6:27pm On Jun 22, 2017
A notorious Chinese dog meat festival opened on Wednesday with butchers hacking slabs of canines and cooks frying the flesh despite rumours that authorities would impose a ban this year.

After initial reports that authorities would prohibit the meat at the summer solstice event in the southern town of Yulin, animal rights groups said vendors and officials reached a compromise setting a limit of two dogs displayed per stall.

But multiple carcasses rested on some stalls at the main Nanqiao market, with stiff pointy tails, leathery yellow skin, eyes shut and bared teeth as if in a final growl.

Behind two long rows of dog butchers, other vendors sold more typical fare like cow tongues and pork hocks and trotters. But even they sold some dog parts, including liver.

Politics / Why Nigerian Police May Continue In Bribery, Corruption -by Micheal A. Adeniyi - by tapread: 2:27pm On Jun 04, 2017
Please stop telling me the police is my friend, a hungry man can never choose to be friendly, as they say, a hungry man is an angry man. I somehow thought it was insanity when some frustrated policemen pull their trigger and shoot innocent people at the face for shameless bribe taking spree, close observation shows it was anger from hunger and frustration. You would think they are mad when you call them to an ongoing burgle in your home and they reply you to “please bring us fuel” . Curious about why they take bribe and charges for bail, I started looking inward into its administration and this is the main reason why the Nigerian Police cannot secure you!

Nigeria police are only helping themselves with the bribes and money from bails if I would be honest here, this is it, the budget of Nigeria Police last year was N17 billion, but only N6 billion was eventually released to it. The Nigeria police consist of 300,000 strong men while budget of the Nigerian National Assembly that same year was N120 billion, and every single kobo budgeted was exhausted and the population of the National Assembly is 500. The corruption emanated from the structure, this is one of the reason I said change can only begin from the leadership and structure of administration/governance, how do we preach change to the police. I make bold to tell you that we need a proper restructuring in this nation. I rest my case here, I am a man of few words!

Change begins with the structure, not only me, not only you and I.

Thank you.

Politics / Reply To Ismaila Farouq: Stop Wishing Buhari Dead And Federal Character by tapread: 1:20pm On Jun 03, 2017
Ismaila Farouq, I smiled at your crook bizaire write up when I read it, you seems to have wished death on president Buhari, you even told us the acting president is consolidating for 2019, but is Buhari dead? If not, your claim is futile, you even said the acting president is no saint, Osinbajo is no saint? Buhari the holy Saint of Daura I know but who told you we can’t have another saint in Nigeria? You think he Osinbajo is not a saint because he won’t use that self-acclaimed thingy, anyway that is your opinion.

Honestly your write-up is a bundle of balderdash I must confess, you seems to have found a new love with the word “federal charater“. “I will only work with those I trust, those loyal to me” that was the word of my lovely President Buhari when asked why his government lacked federal characters, he played the northern game on federal cabinet issue and in case you don’t know or choose to have forgotten, that was not a personal cabinet issue, let me inform you that contrary to your write-up the acting president can work with anybody he is comfortable to surround himself with, that is a personal affairs, who cares if personal cabinet lacks “federal character”?

According to you “not satisfied with cornering deals in the power sector, the VP and his stooge, Mr Osibona have, in collaboration with the Minister of State Petroleum Ibe Kachikwu, cornered all the juicy deals in the NNPC Group. They have also extended their inordinate greed to the Ministry of Niger Delta and the NDDC, where the VP has completely taken over the job of the Minster” now I consider this part as stupidity in its highest order, What was the Minister of Petroleum doing when as you claimed the minister of state was cornering deals? thank God you used the word VP for the acting president here, we all know why “coordinate” appeared in the President’s letter written to the Senate when handing over to his Vice, in fact we all know the aide who wrote it, like the famous “windell slimin” you may have connection, but as per your claim what exactly was the President doing when this was going on? clearly the president must have failed his promise to fighting corruption. As if that is not enough, you even said Osinbajo spends tax payer money travelling to Lagos frequently, is Lagos not NIGERIA?

What if I tell you I know President Buhari had travelled out of Nigeria for more than 54 days, and today marks another 135 day he travelled out of Nigeria for Medical vacation, can you please confirm to me that he is not spending tax payers money for all those trips. Buhari will go to Daura, Osinbajo will go to Lagos, is that not where they came from? Kindly direct you forensic analysis to national and federal cabinet and appointment and not personal appointment, I want a full list and not the 3 appointment you talked about as if other regions are not entitled to even just 3 appointments, I would advise you to place the Buhari and Osinbajo appointments, side by side before replying me “at least we will know if you really know what federal character is supposed to mean”.

Finally, talking of federal character in government you will agree with me that the famous “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody” was a scam!

Thank you.
