BusinessRe: Palm Tree VS Plantain, Banana, Casava, Yam by targus: 11:43am On Nov 19, 2013
Hello Poster, ii'll advise you to do your calculation very well before jumping into oil palm plantation, based on the size of land you have which is just over 1 acre of land , you will only be able to plant 60-65 oil palm stands, (9metre Triangle) you can verify this by going on Nifor website. i will say fruits from 60 stands is not enough for you to setup a mill for so you'll end up selling the fruit to middle man that will take into the mill which i can assure you its not what you really want based on your forecast income of 1.5million a year. oil Palm plantation is very lucrative , agreed. but you 'll need much bigger land for the kind of profit forecast you have in mind. i can even tell you authoritatively based on my experience that you'll need about 12.5 acres of land (5hectares) which will be 6 plots of land x 6 =1 acre multiply 5 = 30 plots of land.. Regarding plantain, you'll be able to have 500 stand on an acre and remember they will not come into maturity at the same time so you will be lucky to harvest 2 dozens in a month. you best bet is fresh fruit vegetable like tomato and peppers. Good luck to you...

Hello, I think the problem you are having is the Dns issue, the computer you are trying to join to the domain must have the ip address of your dns server as the first DNS address and this should work, if you have any other problem, send me an email and i'll reply you immediately

FamilyRe: Relocating To Nigeria : What Budget? by targus: 6:23pm On May 09, 2012
Hi Ife, I relocated back to Nigeria about four years ago and i can reliably tell you that it can be daunting. The most important thing to consider is the accommodation and i will seriously advise you to buy a land and build (even if it's one bedroom), because that is one of the things that can bring stress after one year and things are still not perfect, the landlord will not understand. Beside that, Regarding electricity, I'll suggest you buy a 2kw inverter from Amazon or Ebay and get batteries connected to it to provide electricity for your basic need like light, Tv, fan and Fridge.(with time you'll get use to getting by with just fan) and also bring a reliable 5kva generator to charge your inverter. with this, you should be able to get by on N200K a month, food is the cheapest, things like cereal, bake beans, and stuff is not really expensive and make sure you do bulk buying for your Nigerian food.I pay my driver 25k a month and my gate man 15k,we only have Nanny when my family are around during the school holiday and we pay 15k a month for this service. Now i get by on N200k a month without inconveniencing myself. wishing you best of luck.
