Using the Myk 01b systems, Can i add extra battery to this system to make the electricity last longer and how many battery can i add and also how long will the inverter take to fully charge the batteries. 2 or 3 different options will be good, the capacity required is still Ok at 1.2KW, but the how long the battery last for before being empty is the issue for me as the system is going to be used on the farm.

I'm trying to buy Urea fertiliser for use on my Farm, Can someone please tell me where i can get this product preferably in Ibadan or lagos at worst case scenario.

Thanks, Yes, River Owena is actually the boundary of my farm for about 1 mile and some stream that flows into river Owena all around the farm, but they do dry up in the dry season though, but river owena is a big river and will be the source of supply for my irrigation program

I can tell you about plantain, i have 260 Hectares of land in Osun State which i'm using to plant Cocoa and Oil Palm, I have planted about 70 Hectares so fare, both the Cocoa and Oil Palm are inter cropped with plantain, plantain take between 12-14 months to maturity and it's sold per dozen bunches for between N10000-N18000 in Ketu lagos depending on the Size, and you'll have average of 1250 suckers planted on an hectare, so do you sum. you can check out my facebook page for pictures.

@Juo, Thanks for your help, i spoke to someone at bluegate today and the lady told me that their inverter if i use 6 batteries as projected to carry the loads for about 3 days non stop will start losing power after about 6 months, is that true.?

@Juo, The Tv will be on for maximum of 12 hours a day, the light will only be on for between 7pm and 11 pm with the exception of just 2 bulbs that will be on till 6am.How long will the 600ah last for on full charge and how long to recharge fully using generator because it's extremely important that the generator is not use for more than 4/5hours daily

@Idsolar, Thanks for your response, The Energy saving lights are 20watts each, Standing fan is 50 watts each and 37 lcd tv is 170 watts, I'm not using solar because i'm goint to end up using biogas eventually. Thanks

Hello House, Can someone please help me spec which inverter i can use for my farm house, we'll need to Power 5 Energy saving bulbs, 1 (32inch)Tv, 2 Standing Fans at any point in time, but we can only charge it with generator (This is an Off-grid Location), Can you also advise how many Kva Generator do we need to charge it, We'll need to put on Generator for about 4 hours daily to use the pumping machine and the deep freezer anyway, will this be enough time for the battery to be fully recharge?. It depends, I have over 100 acres of Plantain planted with my oil palm on my farm and i had the idea of processing it, Plantain flour and Plantain chips came to mind, but out of the 2, I think plantain chips look more viable because it's only people with Diabetes and elderly people that eat Plantain flour, when you look at the percentage that will be able to pay for plantain Flour(It's more expensive than Yam Flour) , I concluded that it is not viable for me to do,

Both Crop and livestock farming are profitable, if you are looking for a long time investment with peace of mind, go for crop, i.e Cocoa, Oil Palm etc, Cocoa on a 250 Acres of land, planted with the new hybrid Seedling will give you minimum of 2 Tonnes per Hectares per Annum, multiply by 100 hectares(1 hectares=2.5 acres) = 200 Tonnes, even at the current market cheap rate of N350000, (do your sum) and thats every year for the next 30-40 year.s Oil palm is the same margin as well. Livestock is very profitable as well, with even quicker turn around period but a greater risk. 100 sheep (if lambing occurs twice a year will give you between 300-400 sheep/ram a year, at the average rate of 50k during ileya, (do your sum) Farming is always a money spinner but very capital intensive, and with our banks not ready to loan you money, it makes it harder for your people to venture into farming.
