Yes, getting accommodation is a little tedious and expensive being a tourist city.
I have applied to studentenwek, was told to send either admission letter or enrollment letter and financial proof (db statement). I have sent them. However, am still on the waiting list.
Thank you for the weblinks.

I learnt getting accommodation in Heidelberg could be tedious and expensive. I will like to ask, have you applied through the Studentenwek? Were they not able to get a room for you?

You can as well try these portals:

airbnb.com
http://www.wg-gesucht.de/
http://www.studenten-wg.de/angebote_lesen.html

If you are considering soneone to host you:

https://www.couchsurfing.com/place?utf8=%e2%9c%93&search_query=heidelberg%2c-germany&latitude=49.3987524&longitude=8.6724335&utm_content=homepage&search_type=place

You might need to use Google Translate for some of the websites

You can also search if there's Youth hostel in Heidelberg, you can stay there for some time till you get an apartment.

I hope this helps.[/quote]

Bro. Just go ahead and fund your DB account and send the confirmation to the embassy. Believe your visa is almost on the way, so do not let funding delay it.

Cheers.
Amen.
Thank you for your encouraging response.
cheers!

Thanks to God. I got email today to bring passport and insurance for 6 months, exactly 4 weeks after interview. Thanks to everyone on the forum for abundant information. However, which is the best option for travel insurance and will it be on the insurance documents that I will state travel dates as they required.

Thanks and God bless. I'm going to OVGU in Magdeburg by the way if anyone here is there.
Congratulations!
Please did you also waited for the embassy to instruct you to fund your db account? Like when did you found the db account before getting the visa

Thanks! Someone mentioned he got an email exactly 3 weeks after interview. They will notify you to fund the account, in my case, I had to return that slip cos I already funded my blocked account.

All the best!
Amen.
Thanks.

Good morning house!
Do you have an idea how soon they get back to one after interview? How do one know when to fund the blocked account because I think before interview, one signed a slip that reads its one's obligation to fund the account and notify the embassy.

My interview on Monday was as long as Kim Kardasian's eye lashes; probably the longest one hour of my life grin

Got to the Consulate around 6:30, as I was approaching everywhere just clear, seconds later people just start trooping towards the entrance out of nowhere, I just sharply shunt jeje and I was able to get a seat on that waiting deck after the Security checked us in.

The frontdesk man gave us checklist to arrange our documents. We did in less than 5 minutes, instead of us to call his attention, we were there gisting grin By the time we got back to him, it was almost 8 o'clock and he started questioning us "I'm sure you were not waiting for me, tell me, what were you waiting for?" I sha know he can't send 4 of us away grin

Got into the interview room around 8:05, the data capturing was completed by 8:14. I picked up the receiver at 8:15 and interview ended by 9:15. Whew! But in all, no big deal about it, sometimes I have to slow down for the VO to catch up while typing my responses. That I think contributed to the longevity

The questions asked are not different from what has been posted in the thread. When I finished mentioning the countries surrounding Germany, she be like "What's the capital of Poland? Denmark?" I was like Ẹ gbàmí kẹ̀, I wasn't expecting that, I told her I can't remember cheesy
Pointers:
* Germany's president elect.
* Go with every relevant documents for just in case (she asked about my CGPA, I had to show her my transcript as a proof, the "questionnaire for verification of Nigerian documents" was not collected, but I submitted my signed copy of the declaration; I don't want to waste their paper grin)
* Be there latest by 6:30, shunt if you have to, cos I think student visa appointments are the earliest; being there very put you in pole position.
* Locate other Student visa applicants if you can and stay together on the queue if possible.
* Get details about your intended course, your Bachelor's Degree too if going for masters (we spent the latter part of the interview talking about my B.A)
* Please don't give that frontdesk man any reason to embarrass, delay or send you away. I was sent back twice last year while trying to open blocked account, God has a way of doing His things sha.

This is my submission. I hope it helps someone.
Waiting with bated breath for the visa approval.
Congratulations and wish you a good news.

Thanks for the reply... I had to send another mail ( i wouldn't have if i had earlier attached my passport data page ) and did everything stated above except merging the PDF documents in one. I hope that would not be a problem though. i wonder why it is not stated in the consulate website.
