Good day everyone, I just noticed I made a little mistake on my DS160 form (Bachelors degree completion date: September 2015 instead of January 2015 ) and I am about to make the correction which according to my research would create a new application number. Please I would like to know if this change is important and if so, is there a way to make the change without canceling my appointment? Can I go to the appointment with the old DS160 form I used to book the appointment and the newly corrected form?[/quote You can leave it that way, if there is any question about it, you can explain to the VO that you had your convocation in Sept if January isn't the date on your certificate though. However, if you want to fill another ds160 form, you can, but your confirmation code will change and this means you must update your cgi profile with the new confirmation code latest by 72 hours before the date of your interview |
Malone122:Thanks so much for the clarification. Please another question is that, what if he decides to cancel the already scheduled visa appointment at the Abuja location which he has selected and has gotten date for interview, is it possible to cancel that appointment and fix date for appointment with Lagos location which is the location on the ds160 form which he has submitted? |
Malone122:Please I want to understand you correctly, are you saying it is possible for him to fill another ds160 and indicate Abuja which is the location on the appointment page? |
Please this is for a friend, kindly advise. When he filled the ds160 form, he chose Lagos as the location for the interview but because he didn't get any closer date for the interview in Lagos, he chose Abuja on the appointment form. Now he wants to change the location for the visa appointment to be in Lagos. How can he do this? Is it advisable for him to cancel and pick any date that shows in Lagos for the interview or should he fill another DS 160 form for the Abuja location? PLEASE ADVICE!!! |
The school sent their denial finally on the 13th if may. But surprisingly, this Prof. Is still in communication with me. Infact, this is the message I got from her yesterday: Are you available for a zoom call next week? If so, please let me know what time zone you are in and if you have any time constraints (e.g., summer internship hours, etc.) Do you think anything tangible would come out of this? Try and schedule the interview with the Prof, inform her you'd applied and had been rejected, if she is interested in you and she has funding, there can be a change. |

bamiDee1:It'll be necessary for you to contact the school for another i20 so that what you have in your personal account will reflect correctly on your i20. |
Oyeyemidesign:I think you have to submit like 72 hours before your interview. |
Jukwasi:The person should go with both. The more the proof of funding provided, the better. That's my opinion. |
Going for second masters is not advisable except it pertains to career change....else comot that first masters from your app. Please, I need your advice. When I had B1/B2 visa interview like two years ago, I had already filled it in my previous DS160 form that I had MSc. This year, I have got admission for MSc with funding, in a slightly different field. Will it not be a problem if I don't add MSc as part of my qualifications while filling the DS 160 form for F1 visa interview? |
Roniee:I have a friend whose wife went to the US to join him with F2 visa and after the wife had spent a year in the US, she had admission into a US university. She had her F1 visa interview in Mexico and she was granted. She didn't come to Nigeria for her F1 visa interview. I believe you can still get people in the US who must have been in your shoes in the past, you can ask them as well. |
Roniee:Just go to Mexico for your interview, that will be ok |
Hello people, it's true......June 1 is now available at Lagos embassy. |
I am also in the same situation and I have been advised on this platform that it is better, to tell the truth, because when the VO finds out about conflicting information on the DS 160, it might result in a permanent ban at the US embassy. |
Hey all, For like two weeks I have been trying to get available dates for F1 visa interview but I couldn't. I'd like to know if people are now seeing available dates for visa appointments. If yes, please let me know if the US embassy in Abuja or Lagos has available dates. |
Hi friends, I am new here please I need your advice regarding this issue. I got an MS admission into a US university tuition waiver. I have already completed an MS degree in my home country but I desire another MS in a slightly different field. Four years ago, I had rejection for my tourist visa and I had already filled in the previous DS160 form (for tourist visa) what connotes completion of a 2nd degree. My question is that what are the chances of getting visa if the VO knows I am going to US for another MS? What can I tell the VO to butress the fact that I need the 2nd MS degree? Will it be ok to update my new DS160 form (for F1 visa) by removing the part that connotes previous MS degree in my home country? |
