Interest is the key thing here. If they work together, forget the strong man tag on Tinubu. You can only rig when you have no strong opposition. Imagine trying to rig in Kano. You can only rig in few polling units but to have such express rigging that happened in Rivers is when there's no opposition. Tomorrow is pregnant. |

This is where Peter Obi rules. Unfortunately Nigerians like their chains. Obi would rather have all schools functional and maintained than to build fresh ones to score political goals but Nigerians would have asked for a new school. Those small community health centers are more effective than one magnificent structure in Abuja that benefits just few. First things first, you need a classroom before a white board or projector. |

mrvitalis: You don't want the best candidate to rule because people support them?
Which is more or a cult.. People who support the best available candidate Or people who support and obvious bad candidate
The fact that people think Obedients can control Peter Obi means they haven't done any single research about the man or his politics... Obi had similar support in Anambra with ojukwu backing and stuff like that
Did they control him? .. People need to ask why Anambra people changed his name from AdaObi to Okute
As far as Obi believe he is doing the right thing he is brutal ask around
Anambra had the worst cabal of God fathers till Obi humbled them.. I mean people the president at that point feared
Oga say the real reason u don't want Obi and stop being a coward Exactly what I tell people. He uses the carrot and stick approach. Obi is very compassionate and at the same time very brutal. When people think he would elevate IPOB if given the mandate, I laugh at them. His compassionate side feels bad about the marginalization or any sort of that elsewhere. The truth is that IPOB would have been the first casualty of his brutal nature after exploring every peaceful approach. This guy is so organized that he has zero tolerance for lawlessness. No average politician will like Obi because just like those friends you can't discuss women, sex and alcohol with, you can't have a transactional politics with him. The 20b for VP lodge by Tinubu would have been 3b maximum by Obi. The extra 17b was actually used to pay loyalists and that's why people may blindly call Tinubu maker of men. Obi is a minimalist, he would rather have a simple structure with all functionality for a library at a very cheap cost than to have a structure tagged the most beautiful library at a very high cost. In his usual defense 😀, he would say 'na just to go there and read book'. Obi is difficult to control because he is so stubborn in his instincts and beliefs. I don't know how things would have turned out under his presidency but I am 100% sure you won't hear 160m SUV purchase under him, and health and education would have received 100% support. |
Business › Re: Please How Lucrative Is Coconut Oil Business? by Tbagwell80: 11:06am On Jun 28, 2024 |
Restroom: Coconut oil business is very lucrative, but depends largely on the price of coconut, which is easily affected by forex. To produce one litre of coconut oil, it will cost between 1500-4000, depending on the price of coconut, your machines and physical location. The market price of 1 litre is anywhere from 5,000. to 10,000 depending on your location. Usually, the profit is usually times two During the Jonathan era, I make a litre for 1200-1300 and sold it for 3,000-4000.
Since Buhari era, when forex went up, to make a litre cost me about 2500-3000 and sell for 4,500-6000. So, you see, it is highly lucrative, the more forex goes up. the more your profit reduces especially if you are not using expeller machines.
One producer in zBenin city relocated to Badagry because of price of coconut in Benin, from the time of Buhari.
If you can get fairly big coconut for say 120-200, then, with an expeller machine you can make 1 litre with about 1900-2300. And you can sell your 1 litre for a minimum of 3500-5000.
let me quickly add, coconut oil business is not an easy business o.
You need an expeller machine You need a place to turn to factory You need a good source to obtain coconut, medium to large coconut that are mature You also need to know who you want to sell it to.
Do you want to produce cold press or wet milled?
Take note, if you want to do the business big time, your capital will be around 15million and above because the machines are expensive and then get nafdac approval. You cat sell in stores or pharmacy shops without nafdac
From my experience girls and women are the number 1 hit Mothers with babies won't buy your product because, if you plan to go approach them in ta clinic, the health workers in the hospital will not let you sell it there. I tried it in Ubth, andi was told , everything sold to pregnant wome n at the clinic must be cleared from the highest level. So don't waste your time with mothers with babies , most especially if your price is not very cheap.
Coconut oil is multifunctional product, your beat chance of making money of it, is to produce the pure one called virgin coconut oil and retail to your family, friends and neigbkrs. Create a Facebook page for your product as well. Now if you, target a very busy spot in a place like say Yaba, Ketu/Ikorodu road or any where you e sure of human trafficking. Get a stand around there, and open a small kiosk to retail your coconut oil. This model is one of the best model, of getting your customers slowly. Anyone who needs it will simply stop by and buy. I don't like the idea of moving around with it. Better for people to know you are always in a particular spot where they can. check in on you.
To give you an idea, of what you are getting into and the profitability, make 1 litre by yourself and try to sell it to your compound people, friends and street people. Focus on the female folks. And obese people.
Coconut oil! or VCO slims down fat and obese people! These are among my customers as well!
15 to 20 coconut gives you one litre To produce 1 liter, with cold press expeller machine, you will need to grate all 15-20 coconut either by hand or motorise grater, which can take about 2 to 3 hours depending on your skill
Before you will grate them of course, you must deshell them After which you grate. Deshelling can take up to 2 to 10 minutes depending on your skill. Let's assume it will take 1,hour to deshell all 20 coconut.
After you deshell you grate. After grating, you need to dry the grated meat with low heat of oven or sun. If you use oven, it could take anywhere from 1hour or more to dry the grated coconut meat. If you use sunlight, when the sun is really sunny, not on a rainy, it could take over 3hours.
Mind you, there is specific moisture content you must dry it to, to make sure the expeller machine can extract the oil from it. After drying your grated coconut meat to the required moisture content, switch on your expeller machine and feed it the grated dried coconut meat... the machine will press out over 1 litre of cloudy virgin coconut oil within minutes of doing so for you.
Collect all your cloudy coconut oil, stir for 30 minutes and allow to stand for days. This will allow the cloudiness to settle to the bottom while the top will become clear like water.
If you have a plate filter, you can filter the oil immediately and package it for sale.
Now, I would like to say this: If you have say 500,000 to 1million, please don't invest in coconut oil business. You will likely abandon the business because of the bad economic policies of government which kills small business. Instead, let me tell you what you should do, if you want to become a millionaire 3- 4 years time.
Go into coconut farming! Get a land . PLant 100 to 1000 coconut trees. Some trees produce within 3 years and will keep producing for over 30 years. Interestinglu one tree can give you 250 coconut a year. Now multipily 100 trees x 250 coconut, that is 25, 000 coconuts.
If the selling price of one coconut is 150-200, multiply 25,000 x 150 or 200 You will have: 3,750,000 or 5,000,000
That is the amount and higher you will end up making every year for the rest of your life, from 100 coconut trees in your farm. Coconut is a cash crop, and it prices are not coming down in Nigeria because of huge demand.
Don't throw your money away on coconut oil business, sometimes shortage of coconut to produce, NEPA or the price of the local coconut can be very discouraging. Go to where people make red oil in factory, using machines. If you can stand it and cope with it, that is an idea of what to expect when you start processing coconut.
It requires plenty stamina. Besides, from experience , many of us will make money from coconut farming than oil, because, coconut oil production is not our thing. We do red oil. Asia does coconut oil. We can't take it from them. And they can't take it feomus.
The price of 1 litre coconut oil will get us three 4 liter gallon of oil The poverty in the land will not allow many people to buy the oil. But if it is the coconut, people buy it also chop garri and eat other things. Na belly first course.
And again, if you are not in Ghana, Lagos Badagry and Ogun state, where you can get mature coconut from numerous sources, as in mature coconut in abundant supply, don't risk your money. Fuel price will still go up.Diesel price will still go up. Of they do, trust na, coconut price will go up too. When dollar go up, coconut price will go up.So the cost of producing 1 liter will also go up. But if you have a coconut farm, while everything is going up, that means more money for you.
However, if you know how to market your product, you can target the production of just 20 liters of coconut oil a month, which can fetch you 120,00 to 150,000 . With the production of ,20 litres, monthly, you can barnish poverty from your life for ever.
Ask around, there are already some big time producers in Nigeria. Buy coconut oil in bulk from them. Repackage it in your container and sell it as your product. Dont claim you produce it o. Just give it a great name, and at the back of the label, simply state this: produce by the real owner, packed and marketed by your company.
What s cool about coconut oil is that, you can produce soap from it, baby oil, baby lotion, aromatic oils and also, use it to free meat and snacks to sell to people who want to taste coconut oil meat, snacks etc. If you own a cooking business, the addition of virgin coconut oil to the food can be the greatest difference between you and competition. Honestly, anybody wey eat the food, is hooked. The aroma is just too coconutty.
If you must invest in the business, start small.Start small. The Nigerian business environment is killing and you can't easily pass the cost to customers you know.
I started in 2013: I produce from: boiling fermentation Modified kitchen method Sun light method
I produce in small batches. The work involve just to make 1 litre is so great, but pays off when you charge the buyer times two. I know you can't get the product, that is the oil, anywhere else in Benin so easily, so I charge times two of my production cost.
I don't do cold pressed, the expeller machine is damn too expensive. As a chemical engineering technician, I have all the knowledge to fabricate the expeller machine and the local types. But I don't have the interest any more. Our disposal income keeps reducing. People bought the oil more in Jonathan era than Buhari era, because money nor too dey like. that.
When Dollar went, and coconut I bought for N60 jumped to 120 and the one sold for 80-100 jumped to 150-200, it affected my business badly. Like I said earlier, a friend of mine who even had all the machines and was producing cold press with all the certification and nafdac registration fled to Badagry from Benin. He told me he could not cope with cost of transportation, higher cost of coconut and electricity, fueling of generator etc.So he had to move.
Of all the inquiries I get about the business, none pursue it further, after advising them, because they all thought it is a get rich quick business. It is not. You must produce and go out to look for who will buy your oil.
Otorn. God bless you for this sincere breakdown |

Anambra1stSonTV: I'm not using this faceless forum to judge, I see many of them on Facebook once I check either they are from Abia or Imo recently, no be today, I just choose to ignore them I remember vividly when Rochas was Southeast governors forum chairman, that they held a meeting in Enugu which Obiano didn't bother to attend or send representative I heard when he proclaimed that Aba should be industrial and commercial hub of the southeast and Enugu the political capital, I was like asking senseless man make such comment, no doubt about Enugu, but trying to push down Anambra , it will take Abia decades to get to Anambra level base on economy today, which you know Anambra isn't relenting, on Commercial and industrial activities not talking senseless on media, Anambra is third largest economy base on non oil economy, after Lagos and FCT, I live in Abia for years, the Osisioma industrial layout is just like Ogbunike industrial area, industries are in every corners in Anambra outside the industrial layout in Onitsha/Ogbaru which is the biggest in Southeast and Nnewi, their bitterness and envy can change that, in commerce I don't need to talk much you should know better, So for you guys out of envy not acknowledge that which suppose be the pride of Igbos, their will always be a leader, I see some of them on other media platforms, once a page acknowledge Onitsha the commercial and industrial hub of the east the insecure minds will start mentioning Aba like how? Now any little development they will start attacking Anambra governor, that's doing far better, bro I can't be silent any more I tried to control myself during Dave when they were attacking Anambra, even I was promoting Ebonyi and other southeast states I even lost my phone at gunpoint when I was defending Ebonyi God is my witness, I can't be that foolish any more, many of your people hate the developments in Anambra state, I saw one idi*t saying that people are living Anambra to Abia, you should know that Anambra people take pride in themselves now they are taking the industries to their hometowns, I believe you saw the massive rice mill that was built at Nnobi, you saw the new industries built at Amansea, Nimo, Dunukofia, Ozubulu by Emeka Offor, the steel mill at Okwuzu, more than 8 bonded terminals at Nwaofia, the list is endless, Anambra is taking that lead Aku Lu Uno to their towns, Anambra is developing as a one city state, if that you guys wish that our people will started migrating back to Aba it's not possible, the propaganda will not work, many towns in Anambra want to replicate what Nnewi is doing, Ebonyi pushed their propaganda during Dave how far today? So you guys smear campaign against Anambra will not work is better you guys embrace the reality and stop being delusional, one state most lead in a region or country, and Anambra is taking the lead base on economy in Southeast that should be a pride to Igbos not hate, Kano is leading far north, Kaduna still remain their capital, Lagos is leading Southwest, Ibadan remain their capital, so those bitter minds in Southeast should know that Anambra is biggest economy in Southeast and Enugu remain political capital of Southeast no propaganda or gang up can change that. You're shameless brother. What is all these dick measurements for? We complain of the imaginary line drawn to separate our brothers across the Niger and you are here fighting over mere state. We speak the same language, have almost the same value, almost the same religion and we are here killing ourselves. Competition among the states should be there only to drive development and not to slander each other. Go to ogbo efere in Onitsha and half of the people there are from Imo State (Ideato), go to ogbo okporoko in Aba and half are from Imo State (Ideato), many big companies in Abia are owned by Anambra people, many houses in Enugu are owned by Anambra people. Igbo is one! Why should a genuine Abia man feel bad about development in Anambra or Imo man feel bad about development in Ebonyi? It doesn't stop any intra state development but it is not fight against Anambra to propose Aba as the industrial hub of Southeast. The state has suffered bad leadership and it affects every Igbo irrespective of your state of origin. Our people flock to other parts of Nigeria for greener pastures. Tonimas invested in Aba, created lots of employment for everyone and not only Abians. In my opinion and based on peculiar qualities of the towns, Onitsha remains the commercial hub of Igbo land, Enugu the administrative center, Owerri for hospitality, Aba for industries, Abakaliki for Agriculture. This doesn't mean that Nnewi should close or that Owerri can't be used as administrative center. Grow up people. Our people have investment all over Nigeria so what is wrong if we develop Aba for industries or go to Onitsha for commerce? Let's mock the rogue governors for not using our resources to work for us and not our fellow Igbos because we not from an imaginary place called state. |

sunsweet33: Hahaha please🤣 as If you know me to be able tell where I went to school. For your information, lectures in top schools abroad regularly contain hundreds of people and there’s absolutely nothing wrong in it.
The only universities that purposely keep small class sizes are Oxford and Cambridge because their studies are tutorial and research-based and not lecture-based.
If the subject is mainly taught by lecture then it’s more efficient to teach Broad topics to a large group before branching into specifics. Plus the lecturer will have their own research, symposia, meetings and other such activities which restrict their schedule.
Anyway it’s clear you’re too emotional for me to expect a sensible interaction. Have a nice day! Well, I don't know why you decided to add the last paragraph. It shows how unexposed you are. I used "maybe" because I don't know you and you don't know me. You quoted me first and I responded. Instead of you to stick to the subject, you decided to run away from the topic. I don't know the kind of foreign schools you claimed to have attended to see where students are packed like sardines to receive lecture. Classes are broken in units if students are many. Different times, online, class rooms etc. This is from someone who have attended schools in Nigeria, US, Germany and UAE. |

Visagemedia: Thsi is a GSS course brother so it requires all the students to be in one class. It doesn't matter what course it is. Convey the message to the management. Beyond this advertisment, they should implement it. Make enquiry on how it is done in good clime. If this system is used in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, why should I pay more to attend this school with even worse ratio? Come up with facilities and systems that would make real impact and create value for money spent. How do you think one lecturer can manage assignments of over 300 students. Two things would happen here, either the lecture conducts only multiple choice questions type of exams with no class assignments (that makes students to learn more) or if the lecturer manage to give assignment, there will be poor grading (either from giving it out to relatives to grade or getting exhausted in the process). With this comes, failures, missing scripts, poor grading, poor understanding of lectures, and some students being absent as a result. |

sunsweet33: Not that I am defending the honour of this university but of all the things to highlight, I don’t think student ratio should be one of them.
Many decent universities have huge lectures like this for general information until the students now branch into their respective fields.
There is no sense in giving the same lecture to tiny classes of 15, over and over when you can just gather everybody at once This is exactly why we don't change or improve in this part of the world. We already have enough 'decent Universities' in Nigeria. The aim of opening a university should not be solely to maximize profit but to make impact on the society. Maybe you haven't had the opportunity to attend good university in a developed country. Even when they have bigger population, they have enough facilities and lecturers to manage classes in units. With this crowd comes failure, missing script and many students can't learn in this type of gathering. No honor in defending this and no gain in repeating the same mistakes and expecting changes. This is bad for both lecturers and students. Go back to yesterdays and find out why we had max of 40:1 ratio in old government secondary schools. Once a class grows more than 40, they create another class (A, B, C etc). How can one lecturer manage assignments from this crowd? |
Education › Re: What You Need To Know About Maduka University Enugu (How To Apply) by Tbagwell80: 11:17pm On Mar 18, 2024 |
What is the purpose of floating a private university if you can't bring anything new to improve the system. The sight of the crowded class hall is an eyesore. Private universities are generally costlier than public universities so I expect something better. Why should I pay to attend this kind of school where student-lecturer ratio is about 300:1. I would advise that you take down this photo and also inform the management to work on a better ratio by either building more facilities or admitting less number of students. |

Nothing

The wise thing to do is for Labour or Ajaero to approach the court... Sue the government and claim damages. It can then call out workers to strike if government do not pay the damages.
