Another one:

A fourteen year-old-girl was raped at a police station in November 2004. According to information from a local women’s rights organization, the girl had a dispute with her neighbor, a policewoman, and was accused of stealing an item of clothing. The dispute lingered and several months later, the fourteen-year-old was arrested and detained at a local police station. During the night a junior police officer restrained the child, tied her hands behind her back and, despite protests from other detainees, allegedly raped her. According to the women’s rights organization, the following morning the matter was brought to the attention of the officer in charge of the station and the girl was released. Perhaps in an effort to show action was being taken, the officer was detained for less than forty-eight hours and then released. However, the policeman alleged to have committed the rape and the policewoman later threatened to charge the girl with stealing so as to intimidate her and her family into silence.

@ Mamajama
i'm back and i will continue to come back until you've agreed with evrybody in this thread

In Enugu, Human Rights Watch researchers interviewed two young women who had been gang-attacked by three police officers, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). They were both secondary school students, aged seventeen and eighteen at the time of the incident. At around 6.00p.m on September 27, 2004, the girls were walking home when two men in a car stopped and ordered them to enter the vehicle. When they refused, the men showed them their police identity cards and threatened to flog them with a horsewhip:

We were afraid and pleading with them. DSP Uttang James said it was too late and that we were stubborn, didn’t we know that he is a police man. He said we look like the cultist110 girls that work for criminals. He ordered Constable Emmanuel Effiong to open the car and push us inside. He said if we run away they will shoot us in the leg. We started screaming. Uttang said he will teach us a lesson we will never forget.111

The girls were taken to the police detective college on Agbani Road:

Uttang pushed us inside the house and said, “Do you know what I want? I want co-operation.” I asked what type of co-operation. He told me to shut-up and that all he wanted was “bang, bang, bang.” We were so afraid. We thought we were going to be ritually killed. Uttang brought out a gun, showed us a bullet and said if we make a noise he will kill us. In the first room he asked Effoing to pull off my clothes and told him to sleep with me. Then Effiong attacked me. Then Uttang took my friend into the second room at the back of the house.

Uttang [… ] said he was going to drop us at home. He told Effiong to look after us. A few minutes later he came back with another man, Constable Usip Asukwo. I thought he was our helper. Uttang said that Effiong and Asukwo should put a mattress out and each take one of us. That he wanted to watch. Asukwo took out a condom but Uttang took it away. Uttang told him to switch the light on so he could watch it well. They jumped on to us. Uttang flogged our legs, and said we should spread our legs. He then said he was going to do it again, but we cried and Asukwo took pity on us.

At 12.00 midnight Uttang told Asukwo to help him drop us at home. We started on our way but came back to the college because there were armed robbers around. Uttang said he was going to sleep with us again. We cried and said that we would not allow it - only over our dead bodies. Uttang said he would get a gun and kill us. I was attacked twice in total, my friend five times. 112

Eventually the girls were taken to Constable Asukwo’s house, where the junior officer tried to apologize for what had happened, claiming DSP Uttang, his superior officer, forced him to have sexual relations with them. He also told them that Uttang had attacked other women before. At 6.00a.m, twelve hours after their ordeal had begun, they left Asukwo’s house and walked home.

On 7 February 2001, a plain clothes policeman, Corporal Rabiu Bello attached to Kaduna State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requested a young apprentice, Haliru Slau Agaba to buy a stick of cigarette for him.Haliru responded that he could not afford it.Corporal Bello "pulled out a pistol and pumped bullets into the young apprentice, who slumped" (The News, Lagos, 30.04.01).

Three policemen from the Central Kogi State Police Command. The party; Benhamin Oyakhire, Jimo Michael and Gershon Soba mounted an illegal road block, robbed some traders (an equivalent) of 100,000 US dollars, and set two of the traders ablaze in a brazen attempt to cover their tracks (PANA Press, 03.04.01).

On 27 March, 2001, a combined team of mobile policemen and military officers, stormed a second-hand auto-market in Lagos, shot four traders and took their money. When contacted, the Deputy Police Commissioner, all Mr. Emmanuel said he that was not aware of the incident (Vanguard Daily, Lagos 28.03.01)

Mr. Kalu Samuel Iroh was arrested with four others for an alleged traffic offence. The five were detained at Makoko Police Station but were later transferred to Barracks Police Station, Surulere where Kalu was "allegedly battered to death by policemen attached to the station.Kalu's death marked another instance of police brutality and extra-judicial killing of innocent Nigerians". (P.M. News, Lagoss, 05.04.01).

A woman, Mrs. Iroh, roasting plantain (a local delicacy of the poor) by the roadside was killed by the bullets from the gun of a policeman. The police merely described the incident as an accidental discharge, and nothing whatsoever was done to contact the family of Mrs. Iroh, no apology was rendered, and no compensation was contemplated.

Adewale Ayube is a local popular musician. He was shot in the leg on 8 April, 2001, while returning to his house after a night gig.Four men of the dreaded mobile police jumped on him and demanded to be 'settled' - a local parlance for a bribe. Ayuba gave them some money but the four policemen were unsatisfied.Ayuba refused to add anymore and was consequently shot in the leg (Guardian, Lagos, 09.04.01).

Do you want more?

@ Mamajama

Then blame it on the police service commision and stop telling us all this rubbish. The person that posted this topic said we should share our ridiculous or glorious experience we've had with the police. Pls if you had any glorious experience pls can you post it. I know most of the problems with the corrupt policemen is the very ridulous salary they are getting but r u telling me that even if they provide better salary and good weapon for the police guys, that some of these police guys will act better(e.g not collecting bribe and not running when they see an armed robbers)

Is it not the same police that shot and killed a teenager (18 years old)who was sent by his parents to buy fuel in a car and just a week before this incident this same policemen from the same police division shot and killed a man who protested against the arrest of his son who went to ease himself at a nearby bush. The DPO claimed the boy was an armed robber. After investigations, it was found that the boy had actually gone to the bush because they do not have a toilet at home. But the unfortunate man had already lost his life.

So Mr Mamajama, pls you either post your most ridiculous or your glorious experience you have had with the police.

at least kalu stole N3bn.

Here is the details for Alhaji Saminu Turaki(immediate past governor of Jigawa State)

The anti-graft commission, in its case against Turaki, claimed that he laundered N33.6 billion in one year, with N17 billion out of the said amount in one day.He was also accused of stealing $20 million within the same period.

to be honest when i read what Mr Feniluv wrote i just started laughing. This truly the most useless rubbish I've seen "i have serious relationships with two girls"

Mr Feniluv, Even though you seem very very very very irresponsible my advise is pls dont tell the young lady to abort the baby(but i have a feelin you'll suggest it anyway because from your statement "how can i clare my self before they find out i'm double dating?" you only care bout you damn self and you really dont care if she goes ahead with abortion and u simply dont have any remorse that the older lady had the abortion either.
