Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Had The Opportunity To Sit On An Interview Panel Recently, And All I Can Say by TechBaron: 4:38pm On Oct 04, 2025 |
Hamachi: I had the opportunity to sit on an interview panel recently, and all I can say is—many of you are simply not ready for the job market.
Let me break this down:
You couldn’t answer basic interview questions, yet when asked if you had any questions, you’re asking, “Is there any other role apart from the one advertised?” Are you here for a job or shopping around?
During the interview, you were literally pressing your phone while being asked a question. I had to call your attention before you awkwardly tucked it between your legs. Really?
You say you currently earn ₦750k, yet you’re interviewing for a role that pays ₦300k. Make that make sense. Why are you here?
You casually told the panel that your current job is your “Plan A,” and this one is “Plan B.” Since it’s a hybrid role, you’d use your free time to run your personal business. So, you’re applying for a backup plan?
You claimed to be a CFO in your previous job, but you couldn’t explain the most basic accounting principles. How does that add up?
Again, you couldn't answer key questions, but you're confidently asking if there are other positions available? Focus on the one you're failing at first.
Your sister called during the interview, asking to speak to the panel because you’re running late for a church program? Is this a job interview or a family meeting?
You said your Excel skill is 8/10, but when given a simple task, you were frozen—just staring at the screen saying, “I’ve forgotten it.” 🤦🏽♂️
Please, if you’re going to attend interviews, come correct. Dress well, prepare well, act like you want the job, and most importantly—respect the process. Your story sounds fabricated, and I must say... Poorly fabricated. I have interviewed with some of the best multinational companies and finest organisations in Nigeria, and I can boldly say that... Most of what you wrote there can't happen in a proper interview situation. Maybe you were recruiting for your local church, that's if this whole bedtime story really happened. |

SmartPolician: I don't know if this is related to the topic, but I just want to share it.
I recently had an interview with a US company that has a juicy pay package. The interview was between an HR AI system and myself. You will just be conversing with your computer and your video interview will be recorded. I didn't see that coming. The AI was throwing questions at me and I was answering them. Afterwards, it told me to ask it a tough question in my field. I did and it answered it correctly.
In my view, with the way things are going in today's world, we need to start telling people we know not to bother studying HRM at the university anymore because they don't have a job anymore 🫣. That company I interviewed with was an AI development company. The moment they fully commercialize that AI tool, many HR people will be jobless as AI will start doing their job. There's nothing these AI hypemen won't jump on. US company my AS! |

God forbid oooo.
But the first day "anything" lands me in a Nigerian prison is the same day I'll start planning my jailbreak.
The Nigerian Prison system wasn't designed to transform offenders, rather it's a place where criminals become hardened or suffer till they die. |

Pack was consistently hitting it to them. 50 can't stand the Kardashians, these are one of the most powerful families on earth , when you're fighting a very powerful family you have to pick your moments and 50 picked that moment. After taking Pac out, 50 was on their list....50 survived multiple gunshots twice by the Kardashians we know all these but you can't let them spill out or you get body bagged someday. Kardashians ke? If you had put ON the brain, you would have known that posting the first video was inappropriate and uncalled for.
Now that the brain is ON, you're stressing yourself defending what you earlier subtly complained about.

Celestialsword: Success in life is not measured by holding a political office.
Does holding a political office gives you fulfilments in life expecially when you doesn't merit it..
A position that you hold to oppress people and loot public funds.
The young ones look at you with disdain and hate as you cannot move freely in the society
I know many successful, happy and fulfilled people who didn't hold any political office.
Maybe in your family, you measure success with holding political office Name one person in your entire generation who is as successful as Sen. Godswill Akpabio. He is a Barrister, a former commissioner, a former Governor, a former Minister, and a sitting Senate President. Aside from these, his performance as Governor put Akwa Ibom state on the map and today, the state is top 7 when it comes to infrastructure. All thanks to Akpabio. Oya name just one person for your entire lineage that has achieved anything of this magnitude. Baba. Give honour to whom honour is due abeg. |

AllBlack: funny how you can't say what is going to happen in your own life but you know EXACTLY what will happen to Akpabio Don't mind him. He is talking down on someone who was a commissioner, a state governor a minister, and is now a senator/Senate President. I might not be a fan of these guys, but when it comes to recognising their achievements, I dey always give them their flowers. The person who is even talking cannot post his full name and picture here. Probably another nobody. |

Celestialsword: This woman is very humble despite her position, she still appears in court unlike his traducers.
They've only made her to be popular and she will be vindicated while the political career of Akpabio has been rubbished,he can never go beyond the Senate, that's where he will retire Name one person in your generation who has been to the Senate. |

Baba should have gone to the village where the attack took place.
What's the essence of the visit, if you stop at Makurdi that has been relatively peaceful all these years.
As a president, there's no where in this country that you cannot step foot on safely. None!
If Tinubu decides to visit Sambisa today, the military know what to do to guarantee his safety. 100%!
If VDM could get there within 48 hours if the attack, why won't the president do same?
Whatever means VDM utilised to get to the village, baba has ten times the capacity.
Get there, take a few pictures, do a press conference there and assure the people that all hands are on deck to ensure that such incident won't repeat itself again, and the perpetrators will be caught and brought to book.
When you're done, hop into a chopper and fly back to the nearest airstrip where the presidential jet is waiting to fly you back to Abuja. |

Artists must learn to master how to market themselves. That's where Don Jazzy and others make their money. Exploit what the artist lacks. The link didn't state how much artists earn from Spotify. It only showed the list of some afrobeats artists, the number of their followers and monthly stream. |

grandstar: There's massive sums to be made in the music industry.
A 100m streams on Spotify can bring $220,000. That's 352m naira.
And that's just one money stream. There are several income streams. I doubt the authenticity of this information.. There's money in the industry, but this figure you put up here is far from the truth. |

How many of you are in IT?
You guys think it IT is where you'd just enroll into one course and within 2 years you'll start cashing out millions, or so these social media IT gurus make it seem.
First first... IT no be beans You need certifications which come with a very crazy price tag.. Then you need serious referals to get jobs.
IT isn't as rossy as you all think of it. |
