Since inception of Ohaneze Ndi igbo in 1976, It has been the apex Igbo organization representing all Igbo communities within and outside Nigeria. Championing the cause of Igbos and sons. Although the group is not a political party, part of its objectives of creation is to foster unity among its members in other to better allow them to be representative within the political scenario of Nigeria.

With the emergence of IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu and especially with the utterances coming from Nnamdi Kanu. It appears there is a collision on who actually champions the cause of the masses. With Kanu sparing no words or insults on the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, it appears the extreme of the divergence has been reached.

However recent calls for Biafra especially as IPOB has proclaimed that there will be no vote in coming anambra election, it appears the die is cast for a battle of supremacy on the D day 18th November 2017. Ohaneze Ndi igbo has held so many meetings with stakeholders of Anambra denouncing Nnamdi Kanu's proclamation and trying the very possible best to assert its position as the mouth piece of Igbos.

The latest of such is the meeting held on the 1st of July with Governors and senators of the southeast and leaders of thought. The communique stated that they are committed to a united peaceful Nigeria. Surprisingly they avoided all mention of IPOB or Biafra agitation but focused on restructuring of Nigeria, and adoption of the 2014 National confab report.

One cannot help but to notice the crude and mean manner of Nnamdi Kanu's approach. On the minds of many Igbo's they are already aligned to one of the contending parties. Here are the questions on minds of igbo.
