Diegobonito: Ipob to March to Abuja. buhari should kill us all. We are not afraid of death. We must goto aso rock and the house of assembly and stay there till our demands are met. Since buhari loves killing biafrans, we are delivering ourselves to him, Free of charge. Either you give us Biafra or give us Death.
BIAFRA OR DEATH!!!!!!!! And this is just tip of what is coming. In Nnamdi Kanu's words "Nigeria is in trouble, by the time we are done with them, they will beg us to go!!" |
Politics › Re: Something Bigger Than Boko Haram by TechRev: 8:17pm On Nov 10, 2015 |
Ngwaukwu1: I am Biafran.
I and the tens of thousands more like me in who is reawakened the spirit of liberty, climb out of the trenches where my spirit cowed in fear for the last 55 years, after my fathers and uncles were emasculated and then silenced.
I am climbing out of the trenches. And what you see happening on the streets of Asaba, Aba, Onitsha and Port Harcourt are other Biafrans climbing out, having decided they no longer wish to continue to live in humiliation and be treated with contempt in their own lands. All they are asking for is a little respect from now on.
But if the powers that be and those who see in us Biafrans nothing more than people vanquished in war, and want to test our resolve by meeting our legitimate demands for the right to decide our own destiny with talks of 'crushing' our agitation, then let them beware that they are about to unleash something bigger than Boko Haram on to the Niger area.
They are about to unleash something that will tear the very fabric of the existence of this contemptible space called 'one naijeriya', the purpose of which makes absolutely no sense. Let them beware and know that the time is upon us when all must drop their preconcieved notions of who must live as 'victor or vanquished' and come to the table to discuss how we can get along hence forth as equals - the recommendations from the Aburi accord and even those from the recent National Conference in Abuja are there, which if implemented might just calm the raging storm that is about to sweep everything in its wake.
Whatever may be the outcome of all these protests, we all know that the status quo is no longer sustainable. We also know that those who choose to continue to live in denial will definitely not fare any better once the conflagaration, which can be prevented, is unleashed upon us all.
I am Biafran. And my spirit will not be crushed. Nwa Chineke. The Child of Light. Little do they know that death means nothing to us now. If in doubt ask the police and army that were in Igweocha awka and onitsha. |

Politics › Re: Common Lies Nigerians Tell Themselves About Nigeria. by TechRev: 4:32pm On Nov 10, 2015 |
Sweetguy25: That Nigeria was once a great a country – It is common to hear Nigerian’s make statements like “our country will be great again”. This comment is quite delusional. Nigeria, to the best of my knowledge has never been a great country. You may try to pass of some of our characteristics like population, ethnicity or the fact that we used to have groundnut pyramids in the past as greatness but reasonably, these things don’t make you great. Examples of countries that were great are China and Argentina. They were both known to be highly prosperous countries in the past and unfortunately lost their prosperity as time went by. Nigeria has never been known to be a prosperous country since its independence till date.
That Nigeria is a rich country: This is another unfounded untruth that is perpetuated by some ignorant Nigerians. The “GDP per capita” is the standard used in measuring how rich a country is. Nigeria’s GDP per capita currently stands at 3000 dollars. This makes Nigeria a low income country and one of the poorest countries in the world.
That Nigeria is more developed than most countries in Africa: Some Nigerians who have never been beyond the boundaries of Lagos and Abuja would think there are fewer places in Africa that are better than these places (and Nigeria as a whole) in terms of infrastructure and economic development. Recent ratings from the World Economic Forum’s global competitiveness report shows that even in West Africa, certain countries like Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Cape Verde and Senegal all have better infrastructure ratings than Nigeria. Honestly speaking, Nigerians have a myopic view as to what true socio-economic growth and development entails. Seeing private jets and luxurious cars as development while majority of the populace cannot afford beyond the basic necessities of life isn’t development.
That Nigeria would develop and be great: Although we can’t predict the future, we can judge from history and the current state of affairs to project what the future would look like. The possibility of Nigeria becoming great with its current structures, constitution and institutions is very slim. The current socio-political and economic regime that perpetuates greed, rent-seeking, injustice and laziness will not get this country where is plans to be. Until we begin to call for a structural and systemic change, Nigeria may not witness any progress in the long-run.

Officials of the Tactical Air Command of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) in Makurdi, Benue State at the weekend invaded the Ugondo Mega Layout Phase Two and destroyed more than 20 houses. Owners of the houses located on the outskirts of Makurdi said the state government legitimately allocated to the structures to them. The about 200 NAF officials, who were led by the Air Officer Commander (AOC), Air Vice Marshall R. A. Ojuawo, came in three trucks and started destroying houses already occupied and those under construction. They also harassed and beat up the residents claiming that the said land belongs to them. This is the second time in seven months that officials of the command were carrying out such exercise. The first was in May when they demolished many houses at Akpen village, on the outskirts of Makurdi, located at kilometre 6 on Makurdi- Gboko Road. That demolition was greeted by protest by youths of Apen, as most of the affected homes belonged to the poor. In that exercise, over 10,000 people were rendered homeless. In the latest destruction, at least 20 houses were torched by the NAF officials. When reporters visited the area, landlords were holding meetings on the next line of action to take to forestall a repeat of the incident. Advertisement They told reporters that the NAF commandant ordered his men to beat up the landlords, including women most of who were later taken to the hospital for treatment. The landlords added that the NAF officials also carted away property worth millions of naira, including working tools belonging to labourers working on the site. According to them, the NAF officials also destroyed bags of cement including those mixed with sand for plastering, septic tanks and electrical fittings, manhandled a lecturer of the Benue State University and forcibly snatched N3,500 from a widow, one Mrs Dorcas Kambe. SEE ALSO: Man sentenced to six strokes of cane for stealing car stereo The landlords, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, insisted that the land was allocated to them with papers accompanying them by the state government. They expressed surprise that NAF officials were trying to confiscate the land from them. One of the victims, a lecturer at the state-owned university, Pila Nasera, said the commandant ordered him to lie face down and kiss the ground before he was given the beaten of his life. Mrs Gladys Gaadi, who said her electrical fittings and other belongings were vandalised, added that she was given a week ultimatum to leave her house or would lose all her things when they come for proper demolition. https://www.today.ng/news/national/35719/air-force-officials-invade-benue-community-destroy-20-houses |
