Agubushmenyo: But the truth is that am not being paid a dime at the moment. Just 5k, to facilitate movements. So the pressure to switch over to Lagos is much. Even though I dislike the city. But am also looking at the prospects of staying in a place like lagos and opportunities that abound there. What do you think Sir?? stay in Ibadan stop considering money, |
Career › Re: Please Help, Am Confused About The Better Job by Teddeebear: 9:22pm On Feb 25, 2016 |
Agubushmenyo: I am presently working for an IT firm in Ibadan (Upcoming company). We partner with Institutions to train them on IT skills. I am yet to receive a major salary apart from Logistics since december because we are yet to finalize deals with most Institutions.
They rely a lot on my expertise in Marketing so I set the pace for them. Even though things are rough now, but I keep sensing that the future of the company is Bright. We were told that we will be trained in the company on various IT skills so as to help out as Instructors when the deals starts landing. Even though I was told they will pay 50k when the company seals enough deals, but I don't know how long it will take till I start earning that Amount.
Another IT firm in Lagos saw my marketing skills through a client I know, and agreed to pay me 50K excluding movement costs from one place to another, just to do the same thing I do with my present company just that I will be restricted to just marketing.
So I am so confused whether to move to Lagos or to stay with this present company.
Please put your self in my shoes and advice me.
I have just this night and tomorrow morning to accept the offer!! Pleaseeee. don't leave your present job, the Lagos firm wants to take advantage of you. as side from that, you may not be able to survive in Lagos with 50k, whereas 50k is big money in ibadan. you will not enjoy the stress of every day work in Lagos for 50k unless they will pay 70k upwards stay with your coy and pray things get better, they will value you more in a long run than the Lagos firm btw, Google netpro international and apply for freelance similar role, you can work at your own time and pace, but the Lagos firm will put you under unnecessary pressure |

lookandlaff: The problem is there are many more of you village Ibos than there are enlightened Ibos.
Like I said, A yoruba King will sell you his land with pleasure because he is enlightened enough to know you cant carry the land away with you and you cant overthrow him in his own land, he knows if you invest in his area his people will benefit, small minded Ibos like yourself will not sell your land to anybody but Ibos, so you get no investment, no investment means no jobs, your people suffer, they migrate to other lands and in the process develop other lands and then you shout marginalization.
Like i said carry on with your ignorance, if grandstanding, bragging and the crass I better my neighbor display of sudden wealth counted for anything , you guys wouldn't be where you are with all your enterprise and resourcefullness. Stop think and engage your brains, it's not about who shouts the most, who can abuse the most but actually making progress and I can tell you people like you have harmed the Ibo cause. You are the ones shooting yourselves in the foot. You need friends not enemies.
Myopia, selfishness even among yourselves, small mindedness, and trying to be too clever by halves has been your collective problem right from the inception of this country you have not answer the questions I. asked hypocrisy smells ooooooo for your information, igbos are building international markets in east, dont think we will always need Lagos to import goods. With seaport coming up soon in. akwa ibom your eyes go clear, you people killed every success story of seaport in Niger Delta, imo airport was meant for cargoes, today no cargo is landing there. why Yorubas are scared … no wonder when you hear the word biafra, you can't sleep. you keep praying we bring money and develop your area. selfish people. |
Politics › Re: Senate Terminates REMITA Contract And Orders Prosecution Of Culprits by Teddeebear: 2:50pm On Feb 25, 2016 |
lookandlaff: Yorubas are enlightened people, we would rather increase the pie for everybody than try to get a bigger share of the same pie. We are enlightened enough to know that if the whole does well, the parts do well, we don't protect theives, we don't call all our relatives and fill all the govt positions with relatives simply because we got an appointment. Despite the general corruption of values and fall in the fabric and morality of society, we still understand the concept of respect and merit. We like money like everyone else but we dont worship money, you can have all the money you want, in yoruba-land it doesn't substitute for pedigree or a good name. We dont sell kingship to the highest bidder. We are accommodating people, we educate Ibos, the same Ibos that lived in the south west and voted against Awolowo's free education were not discriminated against when he won and introduced free education in the west. We allow Ibos to buy land unfetered in Yoruba land.
We have no problem with Ibos, but we are fast realising that you have a problem with us, we aren't the ones that will lose.
The only agenda we have in youruba land is the progress of all, because unlike others with the I before others (Ibo) mentality, the progress of my neighbour is my progress. the value of my house goes up if the value of my neighbours house goes up. If anambra is doing well, Lagos will do well because your goods will pass through Lagos, your people will buy land in Lagos. If you stop being so myopic, youll realise we are all connected. Even the man in Ghana is connected, if Nigeria does well, Ghana does well. do I look like someone you can brainwash I work with yorubas and I know the deep seated hatred yorubas have for other tribes esp igbos, so don't sprew rubbish propaganda for me. must all goods coming into Nigeria pass through Lagos? Why did Fashola allocate 88billion for SW and 2billion for SE? You brought in political sentiments, I won't even talk about that. An average yoruba man is intimidated by a success of another tribe. What happened during elections 2015? Who said igbos must vote Ambode or die in lagoon? For your information most yorubas have stopped selling lands to igbos. Igbo dominated areas are seen as dangerous zones, igbo markets are being destroyed under the guise of development and security, one after the other. Talking about Ghana, they have banned some Nigerian goods, so Don't think you can brainwash me, I have first hand experience with yorubas. All you do is use people, pride were full una head no be here, very few yorubas can allow their daughter marry igbo man, #fact. yorubas position themselves in managerial positions and HR in companies and employ igbos as marketers and sales agent. I know all your evil strategies, no need to act as though you have good intentions for anyone except yorubas why did ameachi stop corpers from being posted to oil firms in Rivers state?? i repeat Yorubas are bigots and the problem in Nigeria - Sanusi |

lookandlaff: Mass migration to the Sw and the internet have opened our eyes to the heart of the Ibos.
what you call reasonable are Igbos who having mixed with others are more cosmopolitan while retaining their roots, they are more tolerant, less abrasive, less suspicious of other tribes because theyve grown up among them mostly in the cosmopolitan South West. They are accepted and hence they are given opportunities to fullfill their talents without fear. The mass migration to Lagos as adults has opened our eyes to the fact that we dont really know the Ibos. Those we grew up with in the SW are different from those ibos who grew up in the east have never really mixed with others tribes and have a parochial, ethnocentric mentality, they are abrasive and dont mix well with other tribes and breed mistrust and division, they are filled with hatred from the war even though any of them werent alive then, they see themselves as Ibos 1st then Nigerians (some see themselves as Biafrans not Nigerians). These ones (many of whom are here on Nairaland) dont mix well and their obvious hatred is now creating a suspicion from the average Southwesterner where previously there was none. rubbish, we must live by your own doctrines, nonsense. have you heard of the term "yoruba agenda " and how does that support your shouting "one Nigeria" with the other side of your mouth, hypocrisy smells pray akwa ibom does not get seaport, your pride will diminish with time. bigots, i rather dine with Hausa, fulani than yorubas |

raayah: Maybe you didn't read the post, the man's family is based abroad while the woman is in Nigeria.
It's safe to say that this woman may be the victim in all this.
Why is it hard for men like you to agree that the person who erred in this situation was the man?
Why are you encouraging cheating and cheaters?
Why do you encourage indiscipline in men?
Why are you personally attacking me?
Back to my original question, what do we do about the lack of self control in men? as the story goes the have a house in Nigeria, and the husband snatcher has moved into the house. i repeat, men can't cheat without open pussiess, close the pussiess, married men will return to their wives |

Women, both young and old Are living in fear because of the male sexual organ and their inability to control it.
Do you think castration might be the answer? thrash, who raped you … is this a rape case are you using rape as an excuse to open your legs wide to every Tom and Harry. A lady moves into another woman's home and you are sprewing thrash. It is obvious u have a problem with men, maybe from childhood and you were hurt still hurt, let it go and get healing. raayah: I simply do not understand why the woman is insulting the new wife.
You husband of 20 years and the father of your 2 Children decided to start a relationship with someone else. Who is breaking Home? Is it not your husband? Why are you attacking this girl who may not have even known what was going on? Your husband decided to leave you, court her, pay bride price and marry her, and here you are screaming that she stole your husband?? How? Is your husband a toy? How is it stealing?
I am 100 percent sure that your husband didn't start cheating today, you must have known but you turned a blind eye, thinking he won't leave you.
Not only did he leave you, he went ahead to marry her. Do you think all your social media rants will bring him back? He doesn't want you. He has made it very clear.
To all the women out there, staying with cheating husbands thinking he will stay, keep dreaming, one day you will also see your husband marrying someone else.
To the man, what can I say. You have decided to embarass yourself, your children and your family because of lust. You should have done the honourable thing by not getting married or divorcing but instead you choose to be unfaithful and deceitful. Do I blame you? Not really! you and your stupid wife deserve each other if girls like you stop opening legs for cheating husbands, pls who will they cheat with … … grow up kid. |
