PoliticsRe: Abomination Of The Week...as Akpabio Dares God! by Teddeebear: 7:19pm On Feb 09, 2016
torobongekpo:
ABOMINATION OF THE WEEK!

2019 Governorship : "I Will Produce 2019 Governor" – Senator Akpabio.

MY TAKE:

Godswill, look! do you know where you will be in 2019? do you know if EFCC, ICPC or even your life span will embrace year 2019.

That you have succeeded, in one area of life, should make you to measure your strength with Almighty God.

Loquaciousness, is not a good attribute of a leader. I expected Akpabio to say that, he will assist in producing a governor in 2019. But since he has gone extra miles, to measure his wealth of powers with that of God, let's watch as events unfold.

I pray, Akpabio should read the scripture, that says, "God exonerates the humble and reduce the proud". We shouldn't take God's Patience, Mercies, Grace and Favour for granted... .

While alive, Late Esther Okono christened PMB as "Walking corpse", today, Esther is in the mortuary.

Years back, Akpabio and other PDP faithfuls vowed that, GEJ shall go for a second term, today, the reverse is the case.

Pharaoh vowed to frustrate the Children of Israel, but ended up seeing the mighty hands of God via the incident of Red Sea.

Joseph's brothers had thought that, Joseph has gone for life, but Joseph ended up becoming the Chief Corner Stone.

Who would have believed that, UGE will be the governor of AKWA IBOM STATE, despite his controversial party membership status, G22 case and legal tussle.

Sometimes, we don't need to share God's glory, no matter how quiet the omnipresence appears to be.

Akpabio shouldn't dare God via his utterance. He should withdraw such infantile statement, coz, just like he didn't produce UGE, he will never produce 2019 governor.

The act of producing a governor, is in the EXCLUSIVE LIST of God, as seen in Psalm 62 verse 11.

This Nkeng Inua is getting out of hand

A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.
hahaha, i hear you write for concord newspaper, you have lost elections, stop this madness and support the government to succeed for your own good.

PoliticsRe: What Went Wrong With Fashola? by Teddeebear: 12:36pm On Feb 09, 2016
theophorus:
From the comments I have read, I think most Nigerians are either mis-informed or Benefiting from the Fraud in the Power sector.

With this initiative... if implemented there will not be any constant charge of #750 again.

You will only pay for what you use.
If power is not supplied there won't be any payment.

Prepaid meters will be supplied to every House thus you pay only for your consumption.

So the Power generation and distribution Firms will be force to increase supply if they want to make money.

However if we refuse to agree to Fashola's proposal them we would continue to pay #750 even if power is not supplied.

Phcn will disconnect your cables and expect you to pay for transformers and maintenance because it's good for them.
either power is supply or not #750 must be paid.

#ThinkNigerians.
#DontletThievesfoolYou.
#StandforProgress.

NB: Generator sellers and those profiting from lack of power supply don't want this initiatives.
silly propaganda, who told you that the masses enjoy running on generators,

do you take money from your customers to provide them better services, or you use your money to provide the services and charge your customers for the servicehuh

house many house in Lagos alone have pre -paid meters??

what do you know about profit in business?? is it when A man invests N1million naira and expects N200million naira profit, is that not fraudulent??

you are talking trash
PoliticsRe: What Went Wrong With Fashola? by Teddeebear: 12:28pm On Feb 09, 2016
slyfoxxjoe:
You expect good service from government and don't want to pay for it. Don't u people understand government needs money to work especially this govt that met empty treasury. All advanced governments that deliver depend on an effective taxation system to raise money. You don't try paying your tax in America and see what happens to u. But since Nigeria has such a poor tax system I guess the govt has to rely on increased tariffs to raise money.
you are funny, the people you are referring to didn't raise taxes to build infrastructure, they managed what they had to develop introduced taxation to maintain them. by the time they people were paying taxes, they also saw the benefits.

In Nigeria, our taxes, end up in silly allowances for political office holders, your country is wasteful. taxpayers money are used to provide luxury for political class, new car every year, new buildings, new everything every year, the remaining are looted or a few in used to develop the country.

Abroad, can you compare the minimum wage with Nigeria??

No one is against taxation, but this silly things must stop, if they want to improve the power sector, they should use their money and fund it, when people see improvement they will pay, and not collecting money from people, promising to improve the sector.
PoliticsRe: What Went Wrong With Fashola? by Teddeebear: 12:12pm On Feb 09, 2016
sambalo75l:
That explain it all. I wonder how some people reason in this country.
that is Nigerians for you, they suffer and smile, some go ahead to defend silly government policies that they don't even understand.

very soon, we will be paying silly taxes in this country and people will say it is to support government, these people are using our money to run their companies and still make us pay high price for the services they claim to render.

In history, taxation started with only the rich, when they developed to a certain level they started including the poor.
by then a poor man was already seeing the benefits of his taxes and could pay freely, his minimum wage could sustain him.

In Nigeria, politics is all people are concerned with, as long as the they and their families are getting richer, nothing bothers them.

most of these companies evade taxes, or they are also policies that helps these companies to evade taxation, they even have free waivers to import whatever they like and government shifts attention to the poor companies and masses.

I'll stop here, but I no lie you Nigeria is a joke.
CrimeRe: Dambazau Begins Probe Of Interior Ministry From 1999 To Date by Teddeebear: 10:56am On Feb 09, 2016
probe is good it helps you to know where the fault is, what has been happening over the years so that you don't keep doing the same thing over and over again.

Only that in Nigeria we turn it to witch hunting.

Probes can reveal how money have been leaking, how to curb leakages, what to prioritize, help you plan on short, medium and long term

Yhinkss:
There are a lot we seem not to understand or maybe we are interested in focusing on the negatives. There are no develoment without pain and sacrifices all what we nigerians want is to continue getting better things at their comfort zones
First of all the price template was not fashioned by Fashola it was a design from the previous government for an ideal running of the system. If u listened to what BRF said that it was the way it had suppose to be with the price but the last government did not implement it. The Disco recently declared to divest from the buy if the pricing is not improved because they are not making return and it is preventing them in investing more and even exanding as required by the government agreement on them. How can u run a business without making profits? So accordingly the new pricing will now make them stand well in terms of rendering and expanding after a particular time in agreement with the govt.
We only want everything to suit us like oyibo without making any effort like them . When we travel to other developed nations do you realise how much other nations are paying for various taxes that are non existent in nigeria we just like everything free.
Some social service is coming as promised and we are happy but how many are ready to pay for anything just like other nations or do you all complain or refuse to pay if you travel out especially South Africa
Let's compare Nepa to diesel or inverter it is still larger very low so there is a bit of support from the citizenry for our own benefits
thrash, if you he met the pricing why can't he review it for the interest of the masses, was he sent there for the interest of companieshuh

secondly, stop comparing us with those countries, your govt cannot even pay 18000 minimum wage, go and find out the minimum wage in those countries you are comparing us with.

Those countries enjoy what they pay for, but In Nigeria, what we pay for ends in silly allowances for political class and others looted.

People have been paying for estimated bills and now the power supply have not changed but the people are asked to pay more, are you ok?

finally, those companies were dashed out to political class free with 300billion as start up funds in the name of privatization, the only thing that This people have done is to rent offices and furnish them, go and find out what investments that they have done with the money.

All the power stations, substations, gas pipelines, dams and turbines were/are built with public funds, taxpayers money.

but These things have been given out free,

you people just comment, you don't know what is going on in this country, the rich will only get richer, the middle class will continue to wake up by 4am and sleep by 11pm, just to make extra money to pay bills and the poor will get poorer.

this is why Our GDP doesn't reflect on the lives of the people.

Nigeria is one of the fastest growing economies, yet people are poorer by the day.

they do these things because they know Nigerians will adapt, there are already used to suffering, in developed countries, the people would have protested, offices locked, street occupied.

but In Nigeria, if you talk they think you are in opposition party, we leave everything to labor unions, who will protest for few weeks and collect bribes then suffering continues

Fashola have been a wicked man right from his days as lagos state governor & expect no masses friendly from him. we Nigerians condemn the anti people policy from this satanic administration
Fashola is an elitist, that has been fashola from day one, all is policies favours only the rich, the middle class never complained in Lagos, because they have extra money to pay and they don't want to be seen as opposition and they continue to work 5am - 11pm So As to be able to pay bills.

The poor have no voice, they don't even understand what is going on in the country,

APC IS PURELY CAPITALIST.

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING, THINGS WILL GET MORE EXPENSIVE AND TAXES WILL INCREASE.

PEOPLE LIKE MIZMYCOLI MAY NEVER SAY ANYTHING AS LONG AS THEY HAVE MEANS OF SURVIVAL.

THEY THINK ITS ABOUT APC OR PDP.

BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT IT IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE.

All these companies were built by public funds and handed over to thieves in the name of privatization for free, they were even given 300billion to run it.

I pity this country, and someone says Hope, in this endtimes, and when they are people consciously manipulating the system.

Also, have you gone to Abuja to hang out with the Borno state governor? ...or did you just feel like saying that?

choi, i pity you,

hahaha a senator Is closer to the people than the governor if you don't know,

The senator visited the said place, and has direct contact with the communities young man, Bornu state governor lives in Abuja and only visits a few times a month.

The governor is doing cover up, if you want to know the truth visit those places and stop listening to liars trying to score political points, even your president said boko haram wants to embarrass him, why did he say that.

MizMyColi:
Opposing the government, to what end? What is the motive for doing so?
That I don't speak on Nairaland anymore does not mean I do not speak out in places that matter.
I am more interested in making a real difference than engaging in endless squabbles and superiority competitions.

Perchance you expect me to speak out by sounding very angry and negative in speech.
What I have just done on this thread is what I call speaking out.

I will no longer engage in discussions that lead to fights, I will no longer promote bile and bitterness when I speak about this government or any thing else for that matter.
Acting in such manner drains me, it depletes my energy.

I will no longer put the interest of an individual before that of the Nigerian people.
My interest is not in PDP or Buhari, even though I cannot deny that I am more pro PDP/Jonathan/Democratic - I have decided to put the citizens first, I have decided to know where to draw a line.

Every action I take henceforth should be founded in Love.
I am meant to be a minister of reconciliation, not division. This is my life's soul purpose.

There are people whose soul purpose it is, to speak radically and oppose/support vehemently, that is not me.

I am learning how to speak assertively without romancing negativity of any kind.

If you observe carefully, you will see that I played the role of an opposition in the post you quoted. I have called out the inadequacies of this government without pointing fingers or blaming anyone. Any sane person who reads what I wrote above would feel some emotions being evoked in them, any feeling human who reads that and is in a position to help these soldiers in any way would do something. It will no longer be about PDP or APC but doing what they can to help their fellow countrymen. The people who will eventually pioneer change in this country will do so by first uniting us under a common voice. Divisions will not cut it.
too much grammar, you are just conservative with the truth, if something goes wrong, someone is responsible, in developed nations those people resign. Most of them willingly.

Those emotional statement will not change anything. It has never, that is why some soldiers deserted.

Until the masses raised their voice, Buhari would never have known that there were errors in the budget.
