I never attended one day of medical school, yet I know matured ladies are suppose to have a breast exam, once a year. Just because u're a doc, ur say so is final!? Let just pray our health challenge won't pass their power, cos they would have to tell us its a spiritual attack?!!

I also dislike when smtn goes wrong and dey dont want to tell you in details claiming dey dnt want people to panic. You will see them running around while treating ur kin, and dey keep saying its nothing.

When i had my son , on tue second day we were still in tue hospital cos i had him by sectioning, a nurse came in to check on him and suddenly took him out. They put him on the drip and oxygen mask. We were asked not to touch him. Wen we went back fr his bcg nd the matron was telling her colleagues... is this nt the child u wanted us to refer to fmr, he is so healthy and bouncy.

I dnt know up until today, what happened to my son. I asked and asked. All dey say is... its nothing. Dont worry.

Also, they hate wen u seem to know too much. Some patients may be terrible tho... but honestly, a doctor should open up to a patient, and allow d patient to b aware of certain things. Not here in nigeria. Never.

that alone miss, makes me fear, pray and hope for the best. if now will be better than the future, don't you think it's going to be because the yard stick( standards) have been extra sufficiently reduced? in other words, stealing won't be just bad again, but stealing ones only car is bad but if you steal one out of his 5 cars you haven't done bad he has 4 others. hope you understand where I'm coming from?
Don't you think at some point Nature will be over whelmed?

I understand you... but i believe at sm point... things will turn around. Maybe i am just a hopeless optimist but i believe

Hahahaha. Repair? This world is going at full speed on an auto-destruct mode!

If that were the case... we wouldnt be here. Worse things have happened. Worser things will still happen. You will look at your children and say... "chei... in my days things were not this way. Things were better."

Im telling you nature always finds a way to repair itself

Can identify with that, what gets me most is, those crazy docs still have d effrontery to look down their nose on u!

Argued with a corper doc recently, and he was making fun of foreign trained docs who tend to insist on lab tests b4 commencing treatment, and pple wonder why d death rate of hospital patients is still on d high side?!

Thats d most painful part. The looking down on you like you dont know what you are talking about. It makes me reluctant to go to tye hospital.

I told a doctor i wanted to have a breast exam because i had a lump and he told me they only attend to women in their forties that i cant have cancer. I had to take myself to a lab.
They make u look like you are over reacting.
Yet they blame you for self medicating and waiting till the issue has gone out of hands before coming

In the world we live in today, there are cogent reasons for everything we do. All the points you have raised too are, I must say, valid. What I am saying is, we have come a long way in this issue of immoral behaviour in general & indecent dressing in particular. What was before unacceptable is now seen as the norm, but we're not even at the worst yet, its going to get much worse. That is the crux of my submission

They wore one million siglets then but took it all off and bathe in public, in groups, by the river side, etc. Now girls wear no singlet but doesnt mean thats d sign of decadence. i believe we are evolving, and there are extremes then and now even though the situations differ. You are right, but humanity always repairs itself.

on a lighter note, Be careful how you say "it's a man's world no doubt" some Feminism crusaders will be on your neck before u say jack!
when you say more men are the ones who benefit from Engine oil advert is like saying women are the ones who benefit from advertisement of head wigs or Sanitary towel. it comes with the territory.
yes sex sells but women are the agents used to sell it the most( what I mean is that in a case where sex is not the commodity, it is the currency) .
women being objectified, sexualized etc is a rather complex subject because they have featured in many aspects of our society.
when you look at it, it is into many aspects and now it seems the good looks and hot body are the first parameter, then others follow.
As for saying they do it because men are buying it is not wrong. but then it's not totally right. because the lines are now blurred so that men are adjusting daily to what is obtained e.g the definition of hot and sexy 3 years ago is not same today. please take a quick survey on IG, more ladies now snap with their back side in view no matter the number of pictures in the collage, the one with back view MUST be there. and now ladies try to out do each other. why is this? they have seen that those ladies do it and they are getting more attention. Now why are they getting more attention? because even our society now criticises heavily anyone who doesn't support the popular view.
it's just there in our faces. I don't support the objectification of women, but then I don't criticize it too because it's okay with but the doer and those applauding as long as it doesn't affect my life and my family I stay in my own lane.

Thats my mantra. Honestly, live and let live. The feminist view is flawed. Women have been culturally engineered and re engineered for ages, they keep doing and out doing themselves, subjugating themselves and making complaints on being subjugated. In short. I would rather not debate the issue because so much has gone so wrong for so long.

6. This one is embarassing. When i was abt 14, i used to have worms in my stool. Very tiny, sometimes they even creep out when im asleep, eww.

Well... i told mum, she said u have jedi jedi. We went to d hospital. Same as above. I explained what was going on... the same drugs were given... antibiotics, artesunate, etc. Mehn. I took it religiously, but it didnt work. I had been obsessed with medicine and health since then. I read a lot of health magazines. Theres one called community doctor. They talk about natural treatments. Etc. I read there about how eating onion bulbs and garlics, basil plants etc could treat me.. and i did just tht. U dnt knw all the flat worm, pin worms, tape worms etc i expelled three days later in a potty. I have nevr had such issues evr since.

3. This one is so funny. Notice my topic said some.... here ,theres story of d good and d bad.

I was in ota thru most of my pregnancy. So i had all my tests in my hospital's sophisticated lab. I paid about 3000 naira for my tests. Blood sugar, Blood test, scan... etc. i had my antenatal every tuesday. We paid 500 naira, i went in fr check ups. I formed a bond with my matron.

By the time i was 31 weeks, we relocated to Ikeja. Ofcourse, i cant travel all the way. For a first timer, I was anxious. I opted for the hospital closest to home.
I registered for 2000 naira, and then They rejected all my previous doctors reports and said i had to take new tests with dem. I was billed 20,000. My hubby couldnt believe it. The scan they did.even said.i was due on May 20 when i was looking at an edd of +-april 15 in my previous hospital.
I understand scans are not quite correct when d baby is already fully matured.

Well, the saturday i started feeling the first signs of labour, i ran to d hospital and doc said i shd go home and exercise. I did.

I went bak in the evening and told the nurse i was afraid and wanted to sleep ovr. She said d doc has gone to sleep n if i make him come down i would have to pay 5k for consultation. She evn reminded me they considered me and did free consultation in d morning.

Well... doc came, checked me after i paid 5K and even used me to teach d trainees on duty they all put in der finger n he said thats 2cm. God! i was ignorant. I thought it was normal. They asked me to come back in d morning.

I told my fam i wasnt comfortable with d hospital so d next morning we went to my previous hospital wher i had my baby.

I know patients can b terrible. But many private hospitals are money conscious.

Next three are instances of misdiagnosis

2. My mom fell in church, could not move her limbs. She had had a stroke. We rushed her to the private hospital said to b d best at treating strokes.

Before admitting mum, doctor charged us 50,000 naira, and we paid. She was admitted, placed on a drip. Catheter, and medications to regulate her bp. And that infra red light for massage. She was there for a week, but she wasnt given meals. We were bringing her fruits and veggies etc frm home.

The second week, no more drip, no more anything, they only check her bp, give her drugs etc. Mom was eager to go home that friday.
How much is our balance?
Another 50 000.

even tho even in the room, no tv, no lamp for when ders no light. I slept on the floor in her room, we went to pee using my phone torch at night.

We were very grateful mum was still alive that saturday wen we were going home, but we still had a lot of physiotherapy to do. We paid the money in full and headed home.

But... we expected follow up, we even went back to.d hospital, but he told us mum was well. Truth is if we knew d rigut things to do frm d on set and d doc adviced us properly, mum would have been much better.

I like your view up on till you wanted to condemn that guy on sexualising women. see, Even women want to be sexualized. women are celebrated coz they are sexualized, they get rich being sexualized.
Now I know you might want to disagree with me on that so consider these examples.
1. Kim Kadashian
2. other Kadashian women
3. Amber rose
4. how a woman in swimsuit gets to the advertisement of Engine oil
you see I don't even give time to these issues and debates any more so I don't have ready-made examples in my head ( though I have seen enough examples).
N.B I have not said all women have enjoyed sexualism in their trade without achieving excellence without their talents (I dare not say so). but my point is do we really want to blame people for sexualising women when the "victims" enjoy and benefit from it and don't see any ill done against them?

Women have been cultured to do and enjoy so many things thru d course of time. And they get the benefits yes. Its called being used. Im not naive to say it isnt happening. But u cant be a murderer simply because someone is obsessed with death and desperately wants to die.

My only question is... all the antics is for whose pleasure?

Men encourage and even pay women to do all this because sex sells. A woman advertises moto oil half naked... who are the largest moto oil customers in d demography? Men.

Amber, kim, etc... they succeed do u thnk its cos of der female fans or male?

A woman takes whatever she can get to give a man what he likes.
Its a mans world no doubt.
all im saying is, men shd b able to see a woman and not see sex. The same way women can look at a man mst times.

I had to post this because with the kinds of experiences I have had, I have come to lose trust in private hospitals and even my respect for young medics has really waned.

I will share three instances of my personal experiences with different hospitals.

1. My Little One was a bit down, and I was reluctant to take him to the family hospital in ikeja because it was a hot day so I saw a pharm at health plus who prescribed anti malaria drugs, ampiclox and multivitamins etc. I spend about one thousand five hundred naira getting the drugs.
But my MIL insisted we take him to the hospital even though he was already getting better the next day. Well, i took him down to our hospital and you wony believe I paid 2k for consultation. We went in to see d doc, and he asked a few questions like is it chest cough he has or is it throaty?( i was thinking...how wd i know. When ur d one wearing d stethoscope. Am i a doc to know types of cough? ) how is his temp. his appetite? doc didnt even check his eyes... i know that eye widening thing they do. He made it look like i was an over reacting mom.

After the q&a called consultation, he started scrawling in the prescription pad. I asked wnt u at least check the child? pls wat if something else is happening that isnt clear unless we check.
He said madam, additional check up will cost more money. So i shut up and collected d presc he wrote.
When i got there d lady asked me to pay 2000 naira and i did. She wrote me a receipt and i sat down. I waited 45 mins. My son was already sleepin. I asked the lady n she told me to calm down i will soon b attended to.
Just den,der messanger came in with a package and she just put it in d hospital bag and gave to me.

They were out of drugs. They went out to buy

What drugs?
paracetamol, vit c and bcomplex... D cheap brands o

And guess what... d chemists receipt was in d bag
It all cost 470 naira

I dnt mind consultation fee. But 2000 fr those drugs was extortion.

Medical attn is expensive, but i think some private hospitals take it too far.

For how long will society continue suppressing the female. The body shaming forces girls ti hide der body, in so many garments. Why should a woman be made ti believe her body must be hidden. As for me, i support miley cyrus in campaign fr women going topless just like men. Mention me, and you will get a hunch back.

i would think... work on your physical self. Get fit, get hot. No better revenge than looking awesome. Boosts ur self esteem, and self evaluation.

Get busy... reconnect with friends and family, get active in church... let something be on ur mind that keeps d heart break off

Cry. Talk pour your heart out To someone who cares and keep nothing locked in

Be honest to yourself... i have to be a better person. What did i do wrong in that relationship... how can i be better.

work work... make money be self fulfilled

Dont judge the new people you meet by the experience of the past...

Pray. And be kind.

Daniel2289:
You just suffered heartbreak as the result of a breakup. Friends come to console you with words like “it wasn’t meant to be” or “it’ll happen at the right time”.
As much as this could be encouraging, it does little or nothing to help your situation. According to Estee Kahn of YourTango, the new line for getting over this heart breaking situation is this: “If you’re brave enough to love someone, then you’re strong enough to get over them.”
Here are 4 steps to getting
over the one who broke your heart
1. Don't look back:
No one has ever moved on by living in the past. Your heart is broken but you whole being isn't. Pick up the pieces and move on.
2. Learn from the past:
There's always a lesson to learn in every situation, doesn't matter if it's good or bad. You should be able to list out the things you need and your deal breakers too, these things are important for your next relationships.
3. Let it go:
You might hurt yourself if you keep holding on and wishing. It obviously wasn't meant to be. Letting go sets you free and you might just be a steep from finding the one who completes you.
4. Always remember you are stronger than you think:
If you were brave enough to open up yourself to someone who eventually broke your heart, then you are strong enough to get over them, move one and love someone who'll love you back completely as well.
5. Believe in the power of love again:
You knew how it felt like being in love, you can feel it again. Though it hurts now, just believe it would happen again.
