RESPONSE| CONTRIBUTION NEEDED URGENTLY! Hello everyone in the house! It’s been a while now and would like to use this opportunity to thank you all for the good work. The question I’m about to post or ask now requires immediate response from those of you with similar experience or got an idea. Your suggestions will highly be appreciated. I have a friend who has just received an I-20 (F1) including two I-20’s (F2) for her 2 dependents kids and she’s about applying for US Student visa in Nigeria with the 2 kids. The school resumes in August 20. We understand that getting visa appointment can be very difficult nowadays My questions are: 1. What is the process to apply for DS-160 and interview appointment for the 3 of them? 2. Does she have to fill DS-160 for the 3 of them separately or Is She just going to fill hers and include her children information in hers? 3. For the interview appointment, is she going to book just one Visa appointment for the 3 of them and pay 3 visa appointment fees Or have to book 3 different visa appointments for the 3 of them separately? Finally, few years ago when I filled my DS-160, passport photo was not attached during the application, does the recent DS-160 application requires passport photograph to be attached at the end of the application? peejay03:You can ask your parents if you were vaccinated when you were little. Ask them to check their files for Measles, Mumps and Rubella. If they cannot find it, then visit any clinic or general hospital around you. Worst case scenario, u can get the shot at ASU students health center once u arrive US for a fee. As regards SEVIS fee payment pls visit https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html and fill out your details correctly and remember to have your I-20 handy cos your SEVIS ID will be required. Print your confirmation. I think I heard that GTBank now receive payment for that, if not ask a friend in the US to help you make the payment. Lastly, I'm not too sure about the international passport expiration, but I think it should work because its validity exceeds 6 months. So you can always renew it once u get here. Hope that helps... Teeswift:Boarded airplane on 19th 9.58am(virgin atlantic) MM INTL.AIRPORT, a connectin flight from Heathrow to MIAMI and to arrive@ 5.05pm on 20th. Journey was smooth from Laagos to Heathrow. Gettin to heathrow, met a camerounian @d airport also connectin Jfk. We started talkin and asked him wat to encounter @ POE in Miami. He explained to me that i should av my My i-20 and passport handy, i was shocked and replied tht my i-20 is in my luggage tht whn i get to miami, i'll get it, the guy screamed tht y shld i make such a stupid mistake, tht they might send me bak or delay me @POE. I stood up and told him tht i'll get my bag in Heathrow, but told me not to bother tht it must av been sent to miami. Well, no harm in trying. Na so my prob start for london o. Went to virgin and told dem that i needed my bag and explained everything to them abt how , i wld b refused @USA poe without d i-20. My peeps, con see searching by Uk border patrol, i was scrutinized like 7 times in different places before i kud get that bag, see serious immigration questions wey dem no ask me whn i wan enter US. i was finally transfered to their oga patapata in heathrow. She queried me for like 20min and asked me tht if i finally get my bag where will i sleeep overnight b4 connectin US d fllwg day. i told her i can get an airport hotel around. The lady just stamped ma passport to enter UK for a day to get an hotel, entry 19th aug, and exit 20th aug, no course to work or recourse to public funds, she directed me and showd me a way out. i got to d baggage reclaim section and got my bag within 10min, I QUICKLY picked d 1-20 tried exiting , only to meet other 5 border control officers. These pple really dazed me, went thru all my docs, read everytin in them one after d other , my boxers everythin was checked. Asked both resonable and unreasonable questions. A yoruba lady was among d officers cos i realised tht her English na Naija own, she chkd me and told her oga to allow me go. In d end , the lady just spoke yoruba to me tht ''ma da awon ara ibi yi loun jare'' bi won se ma n se niyen(say make i no mind dem , na so dem they do wen dem see naija peeps). she apologised to me and told me she graduated from unilag. Before i knew it, i saw myself in the london city because of d one day entry i was given. heathrow too nah fine place and it was cold tht day. i didnt rent any hotel oo, went bak to d heathrow airport, slept on a chair till d fllwg day. When it was 12.35 d fllwg day i moved in and connected my flight to miami. Peeps flight was supposed to move 13.05, he no move ohh, we were in d plane for 4hr.15 because plane just developd fault.see fear. it was repaired for 4hrs before it took off on 20th, meanwhile my orientation nah 21st, class start 22nd. i didnt want poe issue @all. i was supposed to arrived miami on 20th by 5.05pm. i got there 9.00pm. the pilot promised to b fast and he did. Miami too fine, i landed safely @nyt in d beautiful city. Got to poe, poe-hey! hw was ur trip ? Me- cool thks . poe- y us ? Me- to study. Poe- ur 1-20 pls and to study wat? Me- MS hrm.POE- Y HRM? Me- Cos it sells well in Nig and d degree is highly valued in Nig. Poe- really? Me - yes. Poe- enjoy ur stay in America. Went for orientation d fllwg day, ate buffet tire , am d only African in my dept. classes don start, group assignment plenty just in one day, dem come make me group leader wey i no like as i never settle down @ALL. Here is my transcript as promised on Tuesday. I had it with the Chinese guy in windows 4 @Lagos consulate around 11.15am. Most applicants in my front were avoiding him. Me – Hey wats up, how are u doing? Vo- Hi am good. Me – ok Vo – pass me ur documents Me- ok Vo- wats ur plans for studies in the Us? Me- my plans for studies in the us is to pursue a masters degree program @fiu Vo- and wat would that be? Me- MS In human resources mgt He paused... looked at my i 20 for some seconds and started typing vo- But this course can be done in Nigeria , why do u wanna travel that far to the US to study HRM? Me- I smiled , paused for a while .....and quickly used the opportunity to think of my response. I told him, Well........, thats correct but because academic programs most especially in HRM are taught by highly skilled professionals and experts in US, Moreso, I wanna be taught and equipped by first class proffessionals,I wanna be that HR professional and consultant that can help solve the problems of unemployment in Africa mostly especially in my country Nigeria. To cap it all , degrees from US universities are highly recognised and valued all over the world especially here by Nigerian employers. vo- looked directly into my eyes (he started typing fast) Me - looked back @ and smiled vo- still typin fast..... vo- Wat will this degree do for u? Me- Hmnnn..well..in addition to the reason to study abroad in Uuuss. (I was draggin my response using that to think of wat to say,i jst picked up suddenly), the HRM Ms degree program will help me stand a higher chance in taking over the position of HR consultant , which comes with higher pay , benefits, allowances, and promotion when i return back to Nigeria. vo- Do u work? Me -yes vo- Where? Me- xyz company. a human resources and mgt consulting firm(my ID dey my neck with suite) vo- as wat? Me -human resources officer vo- av u travelld bfore? Me -no vo- why? Me- Cos i had no reason to vo- looked @me (started typing and clickin, typin ,clicks again) for some seconds. i jst they praise God for my mind. vo- are u married? Me - yes vo- got kids Me - yes vo- how many kids? Me - 1 the guy come pause, they look me for face vo- so u wanna leave ur family and go to US....why? By that tym i noticed this guy is very stingy with issuing visa. and i said to myself ,tht devil will not stop me, not even u. i must collect am o, cos i was already gettin pissed. But whn i realised where i dey come from and where i dey go, guyz i behaved my self o. Me- yes , I av already had an agreement with ma wife to travel for a year cos she is aware of wat we will both derive from it when i return back home afta 12mths. thts y i decided to go for a 12mths masters degree prog which aligns with wat i want ,so i cant be away from them for too long cos i luv ma kid,wife , job and my country. vo- who's gonna pay for ur fees? Me - My wife. vo- pass me her bank statement Me- gaave him. vo - opened all the pages and all i started prayin... vo- squeezed face and said , this is just half of ur fees- 7.4m ME- MEHN I didnt knw where d confident came from , i jst forget say nah consular i dey yarn with) I told him, sir as @ d date d statemnt was printed, thts wat is in d acct even bfore tht date ,my wife has done more than 14m transactions, so she got the money, she earns 614000 monthly. she can take care of d bills. moreso my dad is also ready to support me financilly in the US , i av his bankstatmnt here too, can i present tht too? vo-no me - i work too and i also av my payslip here, i earn 375250 monthly, can i present tht one too? vo -no vo-( while i was askin he was busy typin stories) vo-where does ur wife work? me- An alternative power solution company vo- oh! do mean the nigerian power holdin company? me- No, its a private company , owned by expatriates. vo- ok, as wat? me- operations manager, has like 16 unit heads repotin to her VO- wats exactly are they into? me- they r into importation and sales of industrial Generators, ind transformers, ind cables and wires and provision of alternative power to schools, hospitals, private residentials and some multinationals companies e,t.c VO- Threw my affidavit of financial support and bank statemnt back at me and smiled with d golden statemnt.....Your visa has been approved bla...bla... bla,...,he circled a white A4PAPER and bla ...bla.... bla.... Me- i was blank , didnt hear any other thing again. Thank you bro, i appreaciate, av a great day. vo- u too,goodluck me-rushed out ,pple on queue were just lookin at me noddin for me , some givin me thumbs up with some of their security because they knew tht the chinco guy nah tough guy. no b me do am , na baba God. Hello wallspring, welldone! U guyz r doing a great job here. Kudos. My interview is around d corner and i need some advice. Can i use my wife as my sponsor during interview cos I used my dad as my sponsor for gettin my I-20, i hope this will not affect me durin intervw. Moreso, my program total cost for a year is 58,000 dollars(its a 12mth Masters program), can i use our joint a/c of abt 7.4million and make her d major sponsor while am away? Lastly, her mthly salary is 600k as d manager of xyz company while i earn 375k in my company as a senoir staff. Kindly advice if am good to go with d info provided. Thk u and God bless.
