FamilyRe: My Husband Refuses To Take Me Out by Teettyllayho: 8:49pm On Feb 19, 2022
Seriously, your post just described exactly what my husband does. I used to be unhappy and nag him for not taking me out, buying me gifts or even giving me money.

See, everything changed when we changed our residence. I used to think that taking myself out requires thousands of naira, I discovered it doesn't when we got to my new area. I work from home, and as an introvert, I have few friends. But, I connected with an old friend of mine who has kids. She stays close by. So, what we do is, we set out dates to go out and have fun with our kids.

You have to create your own happiness in marriage. Never ever revolve your happiness around a man, or he'll never respect you.

After going out, I'll take as much pictures as possible (showing me and the kids) and post them. I celebrated my birthday with my kids and a few friends last year and I was very glad I did. Life is too short and the memories we create are what make people remember us when we're gone.

Besides, you can't change a man. A stingy man believes he's wasting money by taking you out. But when you take yourself out, you'll be happy you did, regardless of what he says or how he feels. You owe yourself happiness, please stay happy! I have learned to create my own happiness and I'm happy I did.

Hi all,
Trust you had a great day.
Please who used Festac office recently for DIY? I live close to Festac but I'm considering Alausa due to some things I read here a while ago. Is Festac now better or should I just go to Alausa? Thanks for your anticipated responses.

Please don't make the mistake of investing that money in this country. Collect it and travel out.

The school should be shut down indefinitely! No parent deserves to lose their child, not this way! So sad right now!

Why not apply for Masters in Nursing with preregistration? After completing this you can easily get your licence and apply for a Tier 2 visa which is a cheaper alternative than post study work visa route which is not counted towards ILR
Thank you. I just made my research on Nursing at Teesside uni and I think I'll have to prove my English proficiency. Do I need to sit for IELTS or use my WAEC result as indicated. I don't know if WAEC result can be used.

With questions like this, personal experiences differ so expect contrasting opinions. With the Uk you are guaranteed visa but its quite an expensive route with 3 kids. for IHS+Visa fee you will pay roughly $650 x 5, when you are applying for post study you will pay GBP1,900 x 5(you hubby and 3 kids). Just trying to put it in perspective for you. Also am not sure as a student you can legally continue your freelance work . I know student visa are meant to stay away from gig economy jobs. You might want to research that further. After a masters in canada you have 3 years post study as against 2 years in the uk, you are eligible for EE and if you school is in one of the provinces that offer PNP, you might qualify for PNP(you might want to make it your criteria for choice of school).
Thanks for the advice.

captainhoo:
If the canada route is through studies, you can try it but UK is easier, has less payments to be made pre-visa, and have better guaranty with visa with studies than Canada.

If it is by Express entry, no one knows what canada is doing with the EE, a bird at hand..... Also, you can always pursue the EE from the UK while you study. Many ways leads to the market..
Alright. Thank you.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Teettyllayho: 5:48pm On Nov 12, 2021
Hi @Justwise and anyone living in the UK. I've been a silent follower of this thread for a while now and I'll appreciate it if I can get answers to some questions:
Background information:
I'm applying for Masters in Public Health in the UK. I will be moving with hubby and three kids. I work as a freelancer on Upwork with at least $500 monthly. I'm positive that being outside the shores of this country will help me earn more online since clients prefer people in Europe. I will work offline while I study too.
Hubby will apply for study visa too after I'm done with my one year plus two years psw and we can pursue our residency.
My Dilema:
Hubby is skeptical about moving with everyone since we will be selling off our properties to make this move.
He's suggesting that we take the Canada route but the processing is a big headache for me. I'm opting for UK because of the ease of gaining admission and processing.
I will like to know if moving with three kids and selling off our assets is a good move or not. Thanks for your anticipated responses.

I'm happy that you've made a wise decision to leave before it's too late. I used to teach before and I was afraid to leave too but it was worth it.

FamilyRe: My 3 Years Old Son Cant Read Nor Write, Help Pls by Teettyllayho: 8:34pm On Oct 22, 2020
Please stop beating the poor child. My boy started identifying and writing all letters at 4. It was very surprising. I personally told the teacher not to rush him when I discovered he's a slow learner.

He's five now and he reads and does his homework without my input. I just check to see his errors.

But, you have work to do oga.
Download lots of educational videos on alphabets and numbers. It works like magic! There are lots of them online. Then, ensure you watch them with him and see how he's doing.

You can pause the video and ask him to identify a letter or number. Don't force him please. He might get tired, let him rest.

Never use force on a child to learn, you won't get the needed result most of the time. Children aren't built the same.

My 2 year old baby will learn fast because it's all over her. She holds pen and scribble without any help! I knew what I went through before my first child could hold a pen.

I hope you get it now? Children learn differently.
