I'll never forget the period, three years ago when I went to work via that bridge every morning. I practically slept on the steering wheel due to insufficient sleep. Got home between 10 and 11pm and off to work the following morning at 5am. Can't help wondering how many folks sleep while driving that bridge. Hope the Road Safety Commission knows about this.

Anyway, Just want to thank you Lord that I'm still here, in any case, the life of every living creature is in Your hands. Once more, thank You Lord...

True2myself24: Today I was thinking about humility in relationships and how difficult it can be sometimes to the point where it tests your character. I achieved a financial goal that I’m very proud of because in the past six month I have been working my ass off to buy whatever it is that I wanted to buy. Now that I have this thing, my mind started lingering and I started comparing myself to my boyfriend. I started thinking in my head “Oh I can’t wait until he finishes his Master’s degree so he can finally start his career instead of living pay check to pay check.” And then I allowed those thoughts to grow into bigger thoughts of “Oh I can’t wait until he buys a nicer car.” Then I had to stop myself when I realized what I was doing. I read somewhere that most relationships fail when the people in it start to focus on what the other person doesn’t have instead of focusing on what they do have.

It was then that I thought about one of the Valentine/Anniversary gifts that I got for my boyfriend. One of the gifts was a heart shaped box filled with 12 pieces of candy to represent the 12 months we’ve been together. And attached to each candy was a piece of paper that said one thing I love about him. As I share this with you guys, I hope that when you get tempted to dwell on the things you wish were different about your partner that you try to refocus your attention to the things you love about him or her. Especially if you are dating someone who isn’t yet “financially settled,” however way you want to define that. Becoming financially stable is a long process and it takes a lot of patience and humility when two people in a relationship are trying to reach that goal. Being humble isn’t easy but when you love someone it’s worth it.
