Health / Please Give Your Opinion About This Health Management System by temi777: 1:55am On Oct 25, 2012
Hello Nairalanders,
My company built a health management software- see www.nhmsonline.com(this is a software that tracks your health care - this is what is obtainable in places like the UK and the US where there is a computer history/record for your health care, past ailments and so on.
There is a huge benefit to this as not only can the future be predicted about your health but it can help doctors to take the right decisions about your health care. We are planning to introduce this to Nigeria.
Naturally, this product will be targeted at hospitals, clinics(and we will) but knowing the way Nigeria is structured(not much is organised), we are also trying to target it at individuals so they can make health record entries themselves- this might actually save quite a few lives .
please let us know if this is something that you feel will work in Nigeria. and if not please give reasons why and profer a way we can make it work for individuals
the website is www.nhmsonline.com
Thanks

@op I live in the UK. I came in my early twenties so I guess I dont have the same experience as your husband but my dear I think your husband has been
taking it too easy. I know a woman who only did cleaning for like 10 years, bought two houses in UK and 1 in Naija, with nearly 10 years of the mortgage now paid. Even if your husband is doing early morning cleaning self he will make far more than £400 net a week. I wont call him lazy but id say he is too laid back. He is 40+, so what I know 50+ that are changing careers, cant he do PGCE for one year and go and teach.
I earn £350 a day but I still have a minicab licence and I have PGCE so I am also licenced to teach because I know you never know in life.
He should get off his ass madam, learn plumbing or hairdressing. I pay my barber £10 for less than 30 minutes job and the guy is always blasting music, chatting and enjoying himself while working which is like fun self, sometimes even me that is IT guy I envy him. if your man is that good with his hands, even minicabbing will give him more than £400-£500 a week and free up more money you are using for childcare and transportation cost. that is easily an extra £500 or more a month as it is very flexible or even he can drive London bus. My dear your husband im afraid is lazy. Even when I was a student I earned more than £200 a week so he is making excuses.
haba! cant he do minicab by night and estate agent etc by day? incredible!
To say that he is proud is laughable. what is more humiliating than being broke? abeg owo igbe kii run. People will respect you in UK or Naija if you drive a brand new car(meant to say if you have your money) regardless how you made it. Naijas with fake pride, let him not ruin your children's future jare. if he even becomes a full west end taxi driver he is guaranteed £50000 a year which government cannot monitor. o ga o.
He should be too proud for £200 a week and besides stores jobs are for students/newcomers, they can never sustain a family

[b]i really sympathise with the woman and hope she will rest in peace but if the truth must be told there are two sides to a story and im sure it is not the one with the loudest voice
that is necessarily telling the truth. I think sometimes men are abused by women but the women turn the story around. I am married and I know sometimes some women can lie no matter how much you try for them. I am going through a situation at the moment where a woman I did everything to help is turning against me and guess the lead story: I maltreated her even when it was blatantly clear even to close associates that I am not the trouble maker. if you really want to judge this guy without knowing the whole truth then hope you dont drink from his cup. the truth is even the writer of the original article did not insinuate that she died of beatings. and someone posted that the man tried severally by selling his properties to see to the recovery of the lady but most people totally ignored this. She had visited America and England for surgeries according to the writer so really she didnt die of neglect. Admittedly the husband did not handle everything well but to me and from experience there is more to this story. my two cents

We  Nigerians and our one way thinking. Yes there are jobs in UK for international students we just dont see them or rather our one way thinking dont make it possible. I only share this with my family members before but I am so annoyed I will share it with you. If you are coming here please learn a trade in Naija before coming-capentary,tailoring,barbing,plumbing,roadside mechanics -These things will make you rich even as a student in UK . A mechanic will earn at least £200 a day, plumbers sometimes £70 an hour , who do you think cuts the black people's hair in UK? but the problem is that people come with the mindset that they want to get job in Tesco alongside their studies. no come with these skills and you will be very ok or otherwise pass your driving test and become a courier or sell things in the market. just think damn out of the box . I self sponsored for 4 years in UK and im now a British citizen since long ago .
If you are ready to pay consultancy to me mehhn your landing will be smooth. Self ive divulged too much, lol, that's a joke but i like to help. UK is still dripping with money just change your mindset and learn the street a bit. selah

The aforementioned jobs are not even being monitored by the government so technically you can do 100 hours a week if you like and nobody can prove it . A friend's wife sells Marykay self and makes big bucks. stop your working in Tesco mentality and UK will be nice for you. peace
Think about this-my mechanic in Hackney told  one day  bros I bought two houses cash . Noone bothers with him because the government cannot monitor them and things are done under the table. Im a software engineer but studying in UK is far better than studying in America and Canada and you are likely to get your kpali if you know how to play  the system without anything fraudulent self. All the people shouting UK no get job should wake up if they want to come and learn from my advice. Now where is my consultancy fee NAIRALANDERS?

Anytime they mention independent bla bla bla know that that is ojoro. Nonsense. I live here and believe me there is
nothing independent as they have claimed. just watch as they will try and get the "independent" body to do the right thing

O ma se o!
I was about going out for something important but I decided to give my two cent.
Thank your God for saving you man.
I once had a relationship like that. I met this girl in church. She did all the chasing , got my number from her friend and all that and I fell for her totally and nearly adored the ground she walked on for close to two years.
I then proposed even though I was in university in UK . she agreed , I even rented the hall. The mother, her family really liked me me thinks.
then she strated telling me about a Nigerian guy she met at her holiday  work. How he's funny and all. I took no notice because I thought our relationship was really deep and advanced.
Believe me, to cut a long , bad story short this girl came to see me one Friday and the next day(Saturday) went to sleep in the other guy's house.(Only God could have revealed such but yeah she confessed herself. I even tried to forgive even though I was nearly losing my head and getting depressed.
The turning point was one day I was ill and the guy was ill. Guess where she went? the guy's house after forcing me to allow her to go. Then it was like I didnt exist, same behaviours like yours is exhibiting.
I then had a meeting with my self and decided that I had to be a man.
I had a period of like 4 weeks of just sex with her (I am born again now so wont encourage this  please)and then one day I told her you know what? it's all over, whether I rent hall or not. cancelled all the bookings and all. Told only one mutual friend about what happened and even changed church.
Believe me she came back, begged me like she was going to die , I just brought a bucket beside her and told her to cryu me a river. she even arranged a meeting with their pastor friend and I FAILED THEM.
I am now married to a lady that is 7 years younger and more beautiful.
Please thank your God and move on.
I have spoken o!

By the way guys Uk and America are so boring to be honest but then thats life but one question. To those in Naija, assuming, God forbid you lose you plum job tommorrow what happens to you? In UK the government will still pay your rent and stuff like that, give you a little token until you are OK. Do you not think that the insecurity of knowing that when they leave office they might not have much to fall back on is the reason why Naija politicians steal our money?

@jay bee honestly i've known this woman for a while and i can tell you that while she worked very hard, thats all she did. At least she got the opportunity.
I will say that only one in ten Nigerians do make it ok. look back at your classmates in Nigeria and see how many have made reasonable living as in earn above 100,000 naira a month and you will understand. some make it through in Naija but only very few and the rest nko?
that is one thing that weighs on my mind. At least you have a high chance of making it in UK or US if you try hard enough
my brother in law who is a lecturer just got fed up and is relocating to Canada. nuff said

and by the way , why dont we compare like for like? UK housemaid to Nigerian housemaid, UK engineer to Nigerian Engineer, Nigerian doctor to UK Doctor and Peckham to Ajegunle, V.I to Westminster. that is the only comparison that makes intellectual sense.
by the way my uncle is one of the consultants in a London hospitals and earns close to £100000, so compare, he chose to live in a posh London area but he doesnt have to
sorry, no unfair comparison o, just objective ones and dont crucify me.
Naija where a lot of 35 years old graduate man is still living at home with parent because there is no job ehn?

@Andyjoy , Australia is a nice country, spacious and could be cheap. a lot of white people relocate there. But its very far and its not gonna be like UK where you have lots of Nigerians. expect to spend a lot when flying back to Naija. you can spend 5 years there, most 6 but after you can relocate if you manage to save enough
Travel / Re: Nigerians Abroad: What Advise Will You Give Anyone Relocating Abroad? by temi777: 1:46pm On Jan 09, 2009
Hi everyone,
I always enjoy this website and I will like to add my own two cents to this very commendable debate.
I think life is what you make it. UK,US and the others are not heaven(s) on earth and they do not automatically make people rich, so if you are already rich , please dont come but lets be honest a very large majority of Nigerians are suffering, no health care, people die for the most simple of health reasons and life , while very social is not that good for these people. If you are on 7 million naira annually in Nigeria, please dont relocate overseas except for other reasons apart from financial. But having said that, a lot of people I know in UK are doing well.for example, someone I know is a cleaner(real life story) but yet have two proprties in UK and one in NIGERIA. She was an hairdresser in OWO before coming to UK and believe me she would never have attained that in Nigeria surely. my point is coming here(and US and others) gives you a fighting chance to make it if you are the oppressed but it does not promise to make you a king. Sorry. You can choose to live in Northampton, nice environment(comparable to V.I ) and pay as low as £400 for a large house, why do people equate London to all of UK. London is to UK what Lagos is to Nigeria: Expensive. Nigerians live there out of choice. There are very very very cheap places where your expenses will be less than £800 all inclusive including rent/mortgage, so I think we should understand but then I dont have to worry about saving so much for a lot of things living in the UK. lets face it, nothing stops me working and living here for 6-7 months in a year and living the rest in Nigeria.
all in alll, people should have a good plan before coming and please dont come as illegal.
a lot of Nigerian people are on £50000 and above here, so we cant ever say UK hasn't helped , only that we often start spending morre the more we earn, but take my word for it: It promises to help you, but it never promised to make you a king. and for those who want to have drivers and maids and so forth, well have you imagined if you were in their shoes? that is why Nigeria is so bad. here, you don't have to be soooo educated to have any resemblance of some life. a cleaner who knows what he's doing will still make it in UK and not die in agony like the very many naija housemaids, drivers and so on who are treated soooo bad
please dont mention Naija is good again. If you are lucky to be among the fortunate 5% with good life fine but what about the rest? I guess like true Nigerians they don't count, right?those 95% are better off in the western world, period and that is the fulcrum of my argument, the rest should stay back, every man for himself. I love Naija but its a mess at the moment and has been for a long time. Sorry
that's my 2 cents

Just to encourage you Domisakin. You see people will always tell you your dream will never happen . But study history and see that they really are not talking about your dream but expressing their own inability to dare to have such dreams.
But my own contribution is: why not start NOW? at least even if you fail you would have satisfied your self.
lets say you start from the grassroot and be a councillor, instaed of an organiser, if you do well then you may progress statewide then nation-wide in that order.
Remember, the same blacks that voted for Obama told him they do not believe he can make it. So son let me say this to you: impossible is nothing. Go ye forth

if people are offered either of French , Spanish ,Swiss and UK visa i bet you dont have to think twice which one they will take.
