Crime › SARS Unjust Detainment. by Temiel(op): 5:58pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
Please, how long is one supposed to be detained by SARS before going to court? One man in my area has been detained for almost two weeks less than two days now. What is his offence? He went to work as a vigilante officer and while he was coming back from work he was arrested for carrying two arms, one for him and the other for his colleague. All clarifications have been done by the employers of the man but SARS refused to release him. They initially asked for 150,000 naira for bail. Yesterday, the wife went there to pay up but to her utmost amazement, they asked for extra 30,000 naira. Please, is this supposed to be? What can be done? I'm advising a lawyer should be brought in to this case because I see this as daylight infringement of right and robbery. |

I jejely was turning on my bed when I heard mom frantically calling for my dad to come see something. I ran out to check it out for myself and lo, it was a snake curled under a plank. Pops wasting no time found another plank and gave the reptile the beating of it's life. I, lol, after studying these creatures for months so as to rid myself of the phobia I have for them and looking for opportunity to confront one, swooped into action with my camera to identify the badly beaten reptile. Despite all the beating, the rugged creature still showed signs of life. Pops got no chill in making sure the life was extinguished. I sincerely pity the snake though and at the same time amazed at the superstitious beliefs people have on them like 'don't let it touch you or it's the same effect as biting you', ' cut the head'. I don't believe these things. Do you?

Career › Re: All You Need To Know About Going For Nigerian Navy DSSC [personal Experience] by Temiel(m): 4:20pm On Oct 22, 2019 |
csteve: If you wish to join the Nigerian Navy through the Direct short service commission, here are few things I wish to let you know from my personal experience.
Last year 2017, I applied for Dssc course 25 towards the end of my NYSC and from my state I was among the last 10 that made the final Interview, unfortunately I was not short listed on the final list. *painful shaa* *but I was satisfied I didn't even know I would go far*
The Mindset: Now you need to believe that you have a chance when applying.
Applying: To Apply, just get the form filled at www.joinnigeriannavy.com .. No special thing about filling the form, the referee doesn't matter. Anyone without criminal record is OK. Print Your form, it must not be coloured, don't waste your money.
Filling The Form: Fill all the required information in the form, get the police certification and L.G A certification. For the Guarantors form, don't waste your time waiting for the area commander to sign or a senior military officer, it doesn't matter, Any Civil servant upto level 16 in state service can sign it. A school principal can sign it.
After filling the form, photocopy it and keep, just in case of anything.
Preparing For The Exam: OK, to even go for the physical screening and further screening at lagos you need to pass the first exam.
you have to read current affairs, read as much as you can, know about recent political affairs around the world, just read current affairs generally.
Then For the maths and English, someone told me what to read and it worked like magic, I hope it works again. Get the latest or the latest two versions of GMAT and Read. Read it well well, in fact cram it!
Then pray that God see you through.
Going To the Exam: Just dress well, A Jean and polo is OK, Go early but be assured you won't start till its afternoon.
the exam will last maybe 1hr or less, obey their instructions. Go with writing materials.
They will verify your documents before the exam, if your result is less than 2:1(second class upper) don't waste your time going, they won't let you in.
When shading the answers, be as fast as you can.
GoodLuck
Next Stage! If you passed the exam, your name will be short listed in a list of 20-30 names per state, inviting you for further screening at lagos.
Congratulations!
Going For The Screening : Now you are closer! get ready to feel like you will get the job *lol*
In the short list on their website, you will see requirements, if possible buy the things you need before going, if you can't, don't worry much, everything is sold at the Gate there.
Go with your bed sheet, toiletries, cutlery and Money.
You will stay in students hostel, Go with a bag you can lock if possible.
Early Days: On arrival they will first get your data.
Followed by certificate and documents verification.
*Dont worry, the will feed you morning, Afternoon and Night, but it won't be your normal dose, but you can always buy more from sellers in the camp*
Intermediate days: After the verification comes medicals. During medicals, a lot of tests would be conducted, like sight, ECG, HIV, BP, X-ray, Pile, height, psychological test, dental, weight. etc.
Good luck
You can ask me anything! Good Luck! Good day, you mentioned dental test, please I'd like to know how this is conducted and what Impact this has on the test generally. Thank you. |

I don't get when people just clamour for the preservation of these things. Yes, it's such a rare snake but let's face reality here. How many agencies do we have around us that will help catch these things with quick response. We can't risk lives just to want preserve something that is potentially deadly. |
