mikolo80:So with all those degrees you mentioned, why did we need China? Where the coaches made in Nigeria? You are are a nit wit. There is nothing political about the post i made. The contract predates this administration. I just made mention of things we should have done and those we need to do to move or country forward. Your zombiesm will not allow get the message. |

MEND has gone to the dogs..... The niger deltan struggle needs to be revised.... We need to come together with brains to curry the best for our region and its future. MEND shouldn't be negotiating for us, when there are intellects. |
Tragic |
hope you've a lesson for life |
They should work on reviving or steel industry and not dwell on the euphoria of completing this railway project. We should revamp our educational system to teach courses that are directly specialized in industrialization and technology. China gains it all from this project. They give loan, use the loan to buy their equipment and manpower, then spread the loan for years. win win for them. I am sure when signing the contract way back, we were not wise enough to include a clause to enable local content at the long run and technology transfer. |
They should keep in refining....it is their environment. When they start having sense, they will stop refining and save their environment. [Afonja et al, 2016] ![]() |
QuotaSystem:conceived for 8 years abi |
I said it...watch how dangotes refinery will bring in investors to the downstream sector. The federal owned refineries will shut down if they still manage the place wasteful. The only thing that will help them is if the oil is allocated to them, not bought. |
agitator:How did China do it? My brother don't hope on these people to give you the secrets. Take the secrets...I mentioned education, understudy, take apart the items and learn how to replicate. There's no easy way. |
We are selling our future for today. Free oil money has made us lazy. I pity the SS region in 60 years to come when most of the reserves have been depleted. I pity other regions too because then, all eyes will be on their resources as it has been on the niger delta and there is nothing they can do. It is time for the federal and state government to take out time and restrategize. We need to develop our manufacturing sector, invest in technology and industrialization. We should come up with a program which aims at phasing out foreign imports....one product at a time. Items that can be manufactured locally. We should open up information. For e.g A list of the most imported items should be readily available online so as to raise investors interest. They will come a time when we look back at where we are, and we have achieved nothing. We will have nothing to hand over to our children. The oil money will be shared. The government officials and politicians will get the bulk of it. Their kins will squander it in foreign lands. The crumbs will get to you and you get lazy and unproductive. At the end we all lose. It is time to wake up. |
From the items recovered, there is a BH camp somewhere close with females in it....Why cant the military gather intelligence and find it out? |
Was there any attempt to stop anyone from practicing Islam? or this statement is just to create tension where there is none. If the shites were to release such statement, wont there be problems in their region as the government will be seen as stopping them from practicing their region? Religion has and will continue to set us back. |
WTF....This kind of chicken is for the gods. When dibia starts listing all those ungettable items, this one follow. Why is the inside of its body also black? This one fit be experiment gone wrong oh, i no go buy sha. Even black woman dey get pink for inside... ![]() |
If soldiers are missing in action against bokoharam, what them happens to civilians |
This is wrong...in as much as they have given a lot to that theatre, there is a national content act in place. Why not wait till the next recruitment into the armed forces and give them the quota of the state's involved? Laws were not made to be broken. |
Odani:I understand using these foreign coys as a short term strategy. My posts also mentions education. There should also be technology transfer clauses in the contracts. |
There is absolutely no reason for the FG to put the oil above the health, safety and environment. Any spill that happens should be cleaned up with immediate effect. The Petro dollars is being squandered by millions away from these communities and you cannot at least clean up the environment. You don't poo where you eat. An agency should be set up, maybe within the NDDC whose mandate is oil spill cleanup. An oil spill occurs, they take samples and keep for investigation to know the source, they clean up the site with no questions asked, and then they charge the culprit company if it can be determined from the investigation, or they spread the fine amongst the operating companies or the royalties from the host community in case of vandalism. There should be a fixed cost of fine per barrel of oil spilled specified. |
In as much as this is a good development, in providing social amenities, We should be celebrating our indigenous companies performing these tasks. Revive our steel industry to revive our manufacturing sector. If legalities and cost hinders Ajaokuta, plan a new modern steel company instead of pumping money there to waste. We have very intelligent youths, and we perform wonderfully in academics abroad. Why don't we invest in these talents to our good? WHy c\n't we upgrade the educational system? We are too lazy to try and too scared to take risks. |
Sweetlemon:@gallantwhite Small world. I could link my tree to the Awanakaks family. |
naijaguy77:How far are the oil producing platforms from QIT? You can see some standing at Ibeno beach. Why are you peole trying to twist fact? If you say 80% of Onshore oil, I can reluctantly agree. But saying you produce 80% of Akwa Ibom oil is sentiments. You don't even produce 15%. |
yrret:OP Number 1 is wrong, Ibeno produces the most oil in Akwa Ibom. How did you get your facts? Exxonmobil in ibeno produces the largest quantity in nigeria if I am correct. |
