Christianity EtcRe: Synagogue: Fashola Orders Church Staff Out by teniola55(m): 2:07pm On Sep 15, 2014
biodunid: Synagogue: Fashola orders church staff out

Chukwuma Okparaocha -Lagos, with Agency Report

LAGOS State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday, directed all staff of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Ikotun Egbe, to leave the site of the collapsed building, to allow rescue workers do their job.
Fashola, during his visit to the church, on Sunday, expressed sadness at the loss of lives, adding that the incident was unfortunate.
He urged the General Overseer of the church, Prophet Temitope Joshua, to ask all his staff to step down from the collapsed building site until rescue work was finished.
“When we finish, if you have any person, whether an engineer or a medical person who you want to be on the site and working with them, so as to know what they are taking there, then it is easier; they can report to you and then report to me. But we can’t continue rescue operations with your men hanging around here,” he said.
While commiserating with Prophet Joshua, who came to meet him at the site of the collapsed structure, Governor Fashola, however, directed that the staff of the church should give way for the rescue workers to be able to carry out the job of evacuating the debris and rescuing possible victims still trapped under the collapsed building.
The governor, who was received at the site by the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olutoyin Ayinde, told Prophet Joshua “what you need to understand now is that this place is now an accident scene and so all your staff must leave this place. We need to take control of this place and let people who are trained to do this job to do so.”
Meanwhile the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Sunday, said 44 dead bodies had been recovered, while 130 people trapped in the collapsed building had, so far, been rescued.
The Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Lagos.
Farinloye said 80 per cent of people rescued from the building were women.
He said two female children, aged four and eight, were also among those rescued.
According to him, the continued rescue exercise had increased the number of dead persons from 17 to 44.
God will strike back at my enemies –TB Joshua
Pastor Joshua has said God will get back at those he believed were behind the building collapse incident recorded on his church premises on Friday.
The cleric insisted that the incident was the handiwork of those bent on destroying his reputation and the church, saying that “God will get back at them.”
According to him, the collapse of the guest house which had, so far, reportedly killed over 44 people, was part of a grand scheme to destroy him.
“A big head wears the lion heart. Don’t quickly forget the incident of Boko Haram here, even though it was televised, they said it was a lie, but they later realised it was true. Don’t also forget the Ebola issue here too, they sent messages to all of you, to scare you from coming to this church,” he stated.
“Don’t be scared, you are not the target, I am the target,” he told the congregation, adding that “I know my hours have not yet come. I have not yet finished my job; I have not finished my job.”

biodunid: FRSC to enforce use of speed limiters

Bukola Amusan

From June 1 next year, motorists are expected to have a maximum speed limiter device in their vehicles, to reduce crashes.
Stakeholders spoke at the weekend in Abuja in a communiqué at the end of a one-day forum on the “National Policy on Maximum Road Speed Limiter for Vehicles”.
Speaking with reporters, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, said the commission was empowered to apprehend anyone who violated the speed limit.

biodunid: Another MASSIVE payday for the FRSC 'stakeholders'! Have they already finished digesting all the billions made from new plate numbers and drivers licences? They will not stop milking us until we stop acting like cows. Does anyone know of another country where the police fail to do their work but insist on vehicle owners fitting expensive devices into their vehicles? We just keep setting new records for mumuness.

SportsTo Talk To Mikel, Be Ready For Your Own Beating - Siasia by teniola55(op): 1:01pm On Sep 15, 2014
Former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has warned that anyone who wishes to talk to Mikel Obi to raise his game, should equally be ready to take a slagging from the Chelsea star.
Mikel has come under intense criticisms following his recent sluggish displays for the Super Eagles.
And Siasia, who lined up the midfielder for the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup and then dropped him for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has told AfricanFootball.com Mikel does not welcome criticisms.
“Someone would have to talk to him. But to talk to Mikel, you have to be ready for your own beating," sensationally revealed the former Nigeria coach.
This further confirms the awesome player-power the Chelsea star wields in the Super Eagles.
Siasia also told Africanfootball.com that it will be up to Mikel to take the responsibility to step up his game.
"From what we have seen and what people are talking about, they don't think he is giving his best. But he should be able to criticise himself," argued the coach.
"He should do a self-critique. If he believes he is not doing well, he has to try and up his game.
“He has been watching the games from the World Cup, if he thinks he is not doing well, why is he not scoring, he has to be able to look at those videos and see the areas he needs to improve on.
"Nobody has to tell him. He is a professional. So, I am not going to criticise him. He has done well for this country but if he is not doing well like he used to, then something has to be done."
Siasia equally conceded he is "confused" about whether the best position for the player is as a defensive or attacking midfielder.
"I am actually confused on that one, I don't know anymore," he admitted.
"As a defensive midfield player, it doesn't mean you should not go forward or try to take some shots at goal. (Nemanja) Matic is doing it, Ramires is doing it, so how come Mikel is not doing it? Why can’t he cover the box-to-box play. If you don't get into the box, you can never shoot at goal. So, that is his problem.”

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets lost 2-1 to Gabon on Sunday in a final qualifier for the 2015 African Junior Championship.
The match was delayed by a day after the Nigerians were held back in Lome, Togo, on the orders of Gabonese authorities.
Victor Osimhen opened scoring for the Eaglets, before the home team drew level before the interval.
Gabon then grabbed the winner in the second half.
The return leg is slated for Nigeria in a fortnight with the overall winners of this match-up marching on to the Junior Championship to be staged in Niger in February.
Nigeria are the defending world champions.

SportsNigeria: Afcon 2015 Qualifiers - Congo Announces Squad For Nigeria Clash by teniola55(op): 9:29am On Sep 05, 2014
The Red Devils of Congo on Thursday released the list of players who will face the Nigerian Super Eagles in the first leg of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Calabar.
Congo, which was reinstated into the qualifier after Rwanda's disqualification for fielding an ineligible player, had made their arrival imprecise, forcing Nigeria to report the situation the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
The NFF had wanted to make plans for the Red Devils arrival among other logistics.
The Congolese head coach, Claude Leroy, had earlier asked CAF to relocate the match for fear of the Ebola Virus outbreak in Nigeria; a request which was thrown out.
A majority of the Congolese squad is made up of foreign based professionals. They would be in Nigeria on Friday morning and may likely not train before the match commences on Saturday in Calabar.
The 2015 AFCON is slated for Morocco and will run from January 17 to February 8.

SportsCongo Will Be Dangerous Warns Emenike by teniola55(op): 9:22am On Sep 05, 2014
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has told AfricanFootball.com Congo could be very dangerous on Saturday because they do not have anything to lose against the African champions.
Nigeria welcome to Calabar the Red Devils from Brazzaville in their opening qualifying match for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
In the last meeting between the two teams, the Congolese held Nigeria to a goalless draw at the 2000 AFCON, which was hosted by Nigeria and Ghana.
And Fenerbahce star Emenike has now warned that desperation and arrogance cannot bring results especially when playing against a team like Congo and other Africa teams tagged as underdogs.
"Being the defending champions could make it tough for us and the Congolese have nothing to lose,” Emenike told AfricanFootball.com
"Maximum three points is important and that's what we are looking forward to in Saturday's game, but we should expect a tough test from Congo.”
Emenike added: "Fans will be expecting a massacre, but we will be wrong if we think the Congolese will be an easy team to ride over.
“I believe we will win, but we must show humility and respect for our opponents. I understand from experience that desperation does not work for us."
Emenike, for one, will hope to end his goals drought at the World Cup in Brazil, where he failed to score in four matches.
“Everybody in camp is ready, it’s a collective battle and it will be a victorious one for us by God's grace," he assured.
