Research has it that the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo aka OBJ, has finally defected to the GMB-Driven party – APC.

This is a shocker but speaking with the former President OBJ himself at his farm in Ota, he has given a few reasons why his defecting should not just be accepted by Nigerians but should also be applauded.

“I have reason to believe that most or should I say all of you are wondering why I have chosen to defect to the defunct APC and I must say that if I had been told that I would have to switch party some 5 years ago, I myself would have argued it.

I believe in transparency and integrity but unfortunately, PDP is an opposite of such attributes.

They dwell in deception and in the lowest form of debase if I may say.

I believe change is what Nigeria needs and regardless of whether GMB can deliver or not, it is still change in a way. Nigeria needs to be delivered from a useless government that has taken over since I left presidency.

If you have read my book, you will see that Jonathan is nothing different from my VP when I was president. Atiku was just a big time backbiter unknown to him that when you have people behind you, your back actually becomes visible to you.

I want to use this medium to say a very big thank you to the leaders of the APC for accepting me as I am and I am proud to say that come 2015, APC is taking over Nigeria for good of us all.

I am a civilian like you all now so I understand what it means to live in the suburbs as you are all aware that I stay nowhere else apart from my village here in Ota.

Our politics and politicians are hilarious. So a coffin was
brought to the PDP national secretariat in Abuja today that
sent PDP chairman and other party members running for
their lives. LOL
Angry PDP members from Rivers state today staged a weird
protest against the leadership of the PDP over the choice of
former Education Minister Nyesom Wike as the party's
Governorship candidate for River state in the 2015
elections. The protesters who stormed the party secretariat
around 6am with the coffin, barricaded the entrance of the
secretariat, stopping everyone who worked at the building
from gaining entrance. The group was later dispersed by

Darren Wilson, the officer who shot and killed unarmed
teen Michael Brown has resigned from the Ferguson Police
force. Wilson resigned yesterday November 29th, 5 days
after a grand jury decided not to indict him in the fatal
shooting of Brown. Though he has been on administrative
leave since the incident on August 9th.

ABC News obtained a copy of Wilson's letter of
resignation. See it after the cut...

The letter reads:

"I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a
police officer with the City of Ferguson effective
immediately. I have been told that my continued
employment may put the residents and police officers
of the City of Ferguson at risk, which is a
circumstance that I cannot allow. For obvious reasons,
I wanted to wait until the grand jury made their
decision before I officially made my decision to
resign. It was my hope to continue in police work, but
the safety of other police officers and the community
are of paramount importance to me. It is my hope that
my resignation will allow the community to heal. I
would like to thank all of my supporters and fellow
officers throughout this process."

4. To Avoid Long Conversations
Sometime truth can invite a long discourse of unneeded
advice, further questions or criticism. The crisis of time is
universal to all people and some people have no other
option than lying to avoid long conversations.
5. To Boast
Though these lies are more or less harmless, they are way
too common. Some people have this need to feel better
about themselves which they try to suffice by painting a
better picture of themselves in front of others.
6. To Get Benefits
It is no secret that everyone lies a little bit in an interview
or to get an interview. The lure of other worldly things and
benefits can also prompt people to lie.
7. To Evade Punishment
This point needs no explanation as we all lied to our
teachers in school to avoid punishment. People lie to their
superiors, parents or spouse to avoid any kind of
punishment or penalty.
8. To Gel In
The social needs of people often make them tell lies. Many
people succumb to peer pressure and fabricate lies about
themselves just to fit in better.
9. To Prove a Point
Some adamant people may easily resort to lying just to
prove their point. This adamant class of people can also get
quite creative when it comes to lying.
10. To Influence
Lies can be a small part of big schemes of conniving
people. People can get really elaborate with lies in order to
change an opinion of someone.
Lying is so common that some people even lie just for the
sake of it. The reasons for lying are as vast as the human
imagination and no list can possibly encompass all the
reasons for which humans lie.

Punch is reporting that 63 senators as of yesterday
Thursday November 27th have signed up to the plan to
impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper
legislative chamber.
They reported that one of the arrowheads of the move to
remove Jonathan in the Senate showed one of their
correspondents the list containing the signatures of the
senators. A source told the paper that 8 PDP senators were
among the signatories to the planned impeachment notice.
There are 109 members in the Senate.

An All Progressives Congress senator from the North-
West zone, who asked not to be named, told our
correspondent that the lawmakers’ major grouse was
the President’s handling of the economy and political
affairs of the country.
The senator cited poor implementation of the national
budget since 2011, alleged high level of corruption
and “gross disregard” of the legislature at both the
federal and state levels as topping the list of
lawmakers’ anger against Jonathan.
Asked whether he realised that the process of
impeachment could be tedious and cumbersome, the
senator said, “ We know and we are prepared to show
the President that we have responsibility to the people
and the nation in general.
“We are prepared to lay the impeachment notice
anytime from next week. Meetings are already being
held.”
Senator Ibrahim Musa (APC Niger North) confirmed
that there were moves by some members of the Senate
to initiate impeachment proceedings against the
President but failed to give details.
“I think there is something like that but I don’t have
the details, it is still coming as a rumour,” Musa said.

Dutse—Operatives of Jigawa State Command of Nigeria
Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have
apprehended three men for allegedly attempting to pull out
the baby from the womb of an eight-month pregnant
woman at Gusau quarters in Gumel Local Government.
The suspects, Adamu Usman Barma, 31; Fawas Bala, 28;
and Buhari Ahmed, 29, were said to be the 20-year-old
woman’s lovers.
State Commandant of the corps, Dr. Muhammed Gidado,
said when his officers got to the scene of the incident, one
of the suspects was holding the pregnant woman by the
neck, another held her legs, while the third attempted to
pull out the baby.
He said the lady, identified as Maryam Muhammed,
currently on admission in an unnamed hospital, admitted
that she had been having affairs with the three men.
