GrammarNazi1:Honestly it is high time Koeman added Puig to the mix. Not every player in the team must have that physicality. |
LoyalHustler:Dembele needs to be starting games ahead of those younger Trincao and Pedri. I said it just Before the match. Besides being better than them he has got the fear factor which they don't have. Those guys Pedri and Trincao are good no doubt, but they should be introduced sparingly especially for big games like El Clasico. Messi needs to stick to his position and stop getting himself overburdened. He needs to trust players like Coutinho and De Jong to pull the strings. He was playing false 9, but want playing anything like a false 9. Right, Left, Mdfield and even defence he was there. The consequence of his 'freelance' is being less effective in attack which is his postion of primary assignment. Overall from what I saw last night the hole in our football pattern has basically remained from over the years. Press forward, Press forward, Press forward thereby leave yourself susceptible to counters. |
I said it time and time again that the fixtures did not do us any favours considering that we were rebuiding technically; with a new gaffer. Don't know if anyone thought so. Sevilla Villareal Getafe Celta Madrid These are all averagely top 8 teams in La Liga. So it's been a tough opening 5 weeks of football for us. It will get better. Dest, Fati and Dembele are like 3 new superb signings. With Messi, Coutinho and De Jong doing their thing. Keep your head up, hope for the best. |
Krasid:Don't force it, Besides the goals amd assists, this is a masterclass of 90 percent of footballers. |
Carbon2Oxide:"Bants" is never an excuse to be stupiid. You said something stupid. Accept Apologize and Move on. |
Carbon2Oxide:They removed passes and gave us "key passes." They removed number of times he had possession and what they gave us is "possession lost." You don't post stats like this in isolation. You post the player's stats and juxtapose with the stats of other players to see how he actually performed relative to the entire team. We can see through your mischief. By the way; Nobody says he was the best against Madrid. Nobody says he was excellent against Madrid. But meatheads came up from the blues, singled him out and labelled him "lazy footballer." When despite his relatively "bad" game, he was still among the best performers. That was your first reaction "Messi is a lazy footballer" Can your now see how idiotic you sounded.? |
FergieRaww: ![]() Frankfurt make dem siddon there. People wey dem dey take console themselves get 5 UCL and 26 league titles. How many cup den don win sef.? |
joviegghead:Yeah Some are like that; their expectations for him to consistently be superb are sincere and genuine. Then there are some who want to keep coming back to prove themselves right that he's finished and should be sold. Fact is; Yeah Messi is definitely not as good as he was. 5 to 10 years ago he'd dribble thriugh all the 3 or 4 players marking him but now he can't do that all the time. His dribbling and golas are reduced now so Messi is performing more effectively as a creator and distributor nowadays. And he's putting in top class numbers in those areas. |
*AS player ratings. Messi: Won the most amount of tackles for Barceona with 4 and got through plenty of work. He spent more time playing in midfield than in attack as he desperately tried to change the course of the game and win superiority for his team. He had a great chance from a Griezmann pass but couldn't finish what is usually bread and butter for him - 8 *The Independent player ratings. Lionel Messi – 7. The Argentine magician played a brilliant through ball to Alba, who set up Fati for the equaliser. Almost scored a brilliant goal after spinning Ramos. *The Daily Mail player ratings. Lionel Messi- 8 Touched the ball more than anyone in the first half. Did not deserve to lose 3-1. *BBC top 5 Barca player ratings. Fati 6.32 Coutinho 5.16 Neto 4.94 Messi 4.76 Dest 4.76 Yet some sadists who can't even hold a remote in their homes; all they know how to do is criticize. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Some of you have got a binary mentality to a football game; All you know is Win or Lose. That game ended with that penalty goal. Even with our youngstars it was at worst an even game until that penalty opened us up. |
nihilistjnr:E be like chelsea haf score. Lemme check. |
Carbon2Oxide:Truth? Most of you have really braced up to attack Messi till match day 38 just to justify your foolish position that he should have been sold. This is the player ratings by the popular Daily Independent. I will give you more. Barcelona: Neto – 5. Most of Madrid’s efforts on goal were fired straight at him, and there was little he could do about Valverde’s opener. Came close to stopping the penalty, and made a brilliant double save late on, but also made a vital error that contributed to a goal. Sergino Dest – 7. The American international looked comfortable throughout, with Vinicius struggling to impact the game. Dest was solid both offensively and defensively in an encouraging performance. Clement Lenglet – 4. He was caught out several times, and foolishly fouled Ramos for the penalty. Gerard Pique – 6. After the whirlwind start, Pique started to settle into the game and kept Madrid quiet. Jordi Alba – 8. A fine performance by Alba, who rolled back the years with a classic outing. The Spaniard bombed up and down the left, and excellently assisted Fati for the equaliser. Sergio Busquets – 6. The veteran kept Barcelona ticking, but he didn’t stay with the run of Valverde for the Uruguayan’s opening goal. Frenkie De Jong – 5. A quiet game for De Jong, who seemed to suffer from the deep play of Coutinho and Messi. He was dominated by Kroos, but was better in the second half. Pedri – 6. Whilst Pedri should be commended for becoming the second-youngest player in El Clasico history, it wasn’t a performance to remember as the 17-year old was quiet throughout. Philippe Coutinho – 6. The Brazilian failed to impact the game how he would have wanted, and he perhaps should have scored early in the second half. Ansu Fati – 7. Fati was brilliant in the first half, and continues to live up to the enormous hype. He was a threat throughout, and scored the equaliser when he turned in Alba’s cross. Lionel Messi – 7. The Argentine magician played a brilliant through ball to Alba, who set up Fati for the equaliser. Almost scored a brilliant goal after spinning Ramos. Substitutes: Antoine Griezmann – 6. Ousmane Dembele – 6. Francisco Trincao – 6. Real Madrid: Thibaut Courtois – 6. The Belgian had little to do, and was certainly not at fault for the equaliser. Nacho – 5. He struggled against Fati before suffering an injury that ended his game prematurely. Sergio Ramos – 8. He dealt with most of Barcelona’s attacks, and showed why he is so important to Madrid’s backline. Won and scored the winning penalty. Raphael Varane – 7. The Frenchman is a calm, assured presence at p |
khingTony:See them! People like this; they are most active d vocal when we lose. The ones that always love to say "I told you so" "I told you the team is dead" "I told you the play should be sold" Abeg don't mention me again... |
Carbon2Oxide:This is a very silly comment. Just say you didn't watch. If not for Courtois' reflexes he would have had his goal after he neatly beat Ramos in the box. Not to forget Casemiro's last ditch tackle on him after he had him beaten that just so so nearly earned us a penalty. Or his defensive work on Valverde and others. Stop being a cynic. |
joviegghead:Puig And Dembele okay. They would have made us more dangerous upfront. But don't know about Pjanic. I've not seen him enough in the shirt. It seems Pique can do no right on our eyes. What did he do wrong? None of the goals came from his side of the defence. The goals came from Lenglet's side and he gave away the pk. Yet Pique is still the villain? How's that possible? |
Carbon2Oxide:This is a very ironic statement. Where is this coming from? Messi practically played in defence, midfield and attack today. |
The penalty took the sting out of the guys. We have a lot of new players, maybe very good but do not command any fear factor. They are going to need some time. This was why I wanted Demvouz to start; experience and fear factor is needed for el classico. 1.Dest Excellent. 2.Fati Very Good. 3.Lenglet Excellent but spoilt it all for touching 4.Ramos' shirt. 5.Pique Good. 6.Messi Good, was playing as false 9 but was found everywhere except at top 9. Playing at midfield and even defence. 7.Neto Very Good. 8.Alba Good. 9.De Jong Good. Seriously I think it was a good game. Lenglet cost us the game with that silly tug on Ramos. |
The work that Pique and Lenglet do is mad underrated. Football is indeed an attacker' s game. |
manjaid:Don't mind these numb skulls. |
The president actually expressed sadness and sympathy over the deaths recorded. Why did he have to mention the Lekki victims specially? Are they better than those that died in other places during the protests or the law enforcement agents that were hacked to death all over the coutry?. |
joviegghead:Is Alba fit now? |
joviegghead: ![]() I noticed how you guys arrived at this conclusion based on only 2 matches. It's okay, time will only tell. |
ivolt:Not only yeyebrities. Even journalists and media presenters are afraid to say the truth to avoid backlash from the sentimental public. Whatever they do and by all means they want to be seen to "stand with the people" |
Nigerianization:Just furnish us with the names of the massacred victims you filthy propagandist. |
Nigerianization:Give us the identities of the massacred people you filthy propagandist. |
Nigerianization:What made it a sensational topic and attracted the international community was that you fools termed it Lekki massacre/genocide. It wasn't about lives were lost because lives had been lost in other places too. It attracted particular attention after you tagged it MASSACRE. Where is the massacre? |
maynia:78 people were "massacred" at Lekki. After 3 days you are showing us 2 pictures. Gerroura here mehn. You're shameless. |
LukasPodolski:Does this woman know at all that guns were pointed at police men and shot.? Does she know that homes of prominent citizens were attacked and destroyed by the protesters? |
Kirchoffs:Give us the identities of the victims of the Lekki massacre. It's over 72 hours now. |
maynia:Remaining 76 names biiitch. |
kcnwaigbo:God will also punish you for all your sins. Abi will he leave you? Soon this people you are brandishing their profiles will come out and disclaim like we've seen before. Or they probably died before now or in other areas Guy rest, you have no shame. |
SweetCunt97:So Why are you afraid to call it genocide/massacre like you were before? |
