Wait till she is six months, Ma.
A nutritionist advised me so.
Foods you can give your baby (apart from the cereals in the market) are purees-rice puree, carrot puree, banana/avocado puree, rice and apple puree. You can also give brown pap, tombrown cereal, Amala and ewedu with flaked Titus fish, mashed irish potatoes and fish, etc. You also will keep mixing her foods with milk. Those are the ones I can think of now

Thanks Cappo kiss

Hello Mamas
Please I need inputs on varieties of food I can introduce my baby to. We’re still on EBF at the moment. She’s 5months plus, I want to start introducing her to different meals before 6 months so she starts getting used to eating.
Also can she start taking water or I should wait till she’s 6months?

On the other hand, she poops every 3 days which I’ve gotten used to as she’s on EBF, but for the past 6 days now she hasn’t. She just farts grin cheesy grin I’ve massaged her tommy with warm water and all, no way. I kuku let her be. Please Mamas should I be worried?
I’ll really appreciate your inputs. Thank you!!

Hello Ma'am, how are you and baby doing? Have you been able to get rid of the irritation? How did you do it cos my DD is developing it gradually. Thank you

Hello ma’am. Sorry I’m just seeing this. All the creams prescribed by the doctors didn’t work for me. It was rather making those spots lighter than her body. I had to complain to my mum and a leaf was sent to me alongside a local cream and soap. I boil the leaf and bath her with it morning and night. She drinks from it morning and night. I also drink it as well cause she’s on EBF.I honestly didn’t ask the name of the leaf, it cleared under a week but the scars are still there. I just finished using the leaf treatment 3days ago, you can imagine how long this has lasted. I wished I had told my mum earlier, perhaps these creams from the hospital wouldn’t have done it’s own wahala. Anyways I learnt from it. How’s your baby doing now?

When we had this the pediatrician prescribed lotion with high moisturising abilities (E45) and it cleared.

Alright I’ll get the lotion, hopefully it works for us too

If I may,

You should look for non-foaming soap and moisturiser. Vaseline is easier to apply than Ori. Apply the moisturiser immediately after her shower. without towel drying. If you can't do without towel drying, pat up the excess water but don't rub against the skin, make sure there is still some water on the skin.

If you can't find a non-foaming soap, keep away from bar soaps, they are harsher. Use liquid soap and limit the shower to perhaps 3-4 days a week.

I’ll get the liquid soap, thank you

Her skin is drying out.
Did you change any of her Bodycare products?

Try Eucerin, it's very good for very dry skin.
If it doesn't show any difference in 3 days, please see a Paed Dermatologist.

Same applies for any topical ointment prescribed. Tribotan for 2 weeks is very very
long. In 3 days, if you don't observe any changes, please stop the medication.

You may also need to moisturize her skin regularly.
Moisturizing soap and cream.

Skin being so dry, I can only imagine how much it would itch cry

It doesn’t itch at all and I moisturize her regularly. From her birth I used coconut oil and chicco oil for her hair and the soap. When the soap finished, my husband bought another and I kinda felt it’s not original even though he bought it from H medics. I stopped the soap and bought this soap sold in the hospital by those immunization nurses, I also started using ori on her as well since the coconut oil dries out easily.
Still I’m seeing this embarassed
I’ll look out for the cream you suggested. Thank you

It looks like ela for babies that want to add weight Yoruba people use agbo for it my friend used for her baby took time but it cleared eventually

By want to “add weight” do you mean getting fat eventually or adding already? cause this my madam’s weight addition is alarming.
She weighed 2.7kg at birth, now at 4 months she’s 6.4kg

Good morning Mamas, does anyone know what could be the cause and possibly cure to this irritation on my baby’s body? I noticed it early December and I initially felt it’s the weather cause we stay in Abuja. It kept spreading and I had to complain to the doctor and she prescribed tribotan. I used it for 2 weeks and I saw no changes instead it kept spreading the more. I visited the hospital on Monday and another cream was prescribed, of which I was told to observe for 2 weeks. I’m currently using the cream but I’ll like to know if the cause could possibly be something I’m not doing right. I’ll really appreciate your inputs as it’s making me worry.
Also is it normal for baby’s poop to harden with time? She’s 4 months old and still on EBF, I wonder what makes her poop different from before and she poops every 3 days. Hope this isn’t out of the ordinary?

On another note, congratulations to all Mamas that have birthed their Lo’s, it’s been a while I visited here as vigilante has overwhelmed me coupled with the fact that I’m doing it alone with hubby. To all waddling Mamas, you’ll carry to term and birth your sweethearts, Amen. To all TTC’s Mamas, God will visit your homes this year and cries of babies will be heard in your homes, Amen.

Wow... Been long I came here for very serious business grin though I've been following the thread religiously.

Anyway, moms that has their babies through CS, please for how long do you have the lochia? Also, my discharge has been fluctuating of late. A bit heavy, very light, spotting, and then could be heavy again. Then, I've been passing blood clots sometimes. This is 5 weeks after, I'm worried. Is it normal?
Everyone says I'm looking pale. I've finished all the drugs given to me, I took ferroglobin capsules, and on my second bottle of astymin. I eat lots of vegetables. I don't know the reason for the paleness again. Please help.
I need to be assured that I am okay

My sister, bodies differ I must say. I was in your shoes then and my mum was worried as she kept on saying it’s not normal. Mine lasted for over 2 weeks. Sometimes light, very light, heavy and brown or so. When I told the doctor, she said it’s not abnormal that the uterus is shifting to it’s normal position plus I’m breastfeeding as well, so I took my mind off it.
It stopped later on and around week 5 started again. This time with little cramps here and there. My mom became worried again and called her own doctor, he prescribed a drug to be inserted into my buttocks that it’ll cease the bleeding. I told my mom to hold on for 5 to 6 days let me observe first to be sure it’s not my period. My husband called his doctor as well and he said as much as it’s rare for some women to see their period within 6 weeks after CS, it can’t be ruled out, that I should observe like I said.
People of God, the bleeding ceased after 6 days and it turned out it was my period.
Last week being 9 weeks post CS I saw drops of blood for 5 days and it was my period again, when I asked, I was told my body is gradually adjusting to normal.
Sorry for the lengthy post, what am 1 trying to say, Be calm and don’t panic, complain to your doctor when you can but it’s totally not abnormal. Thank goodness I didn’t insert the drug my mum’s doctor prescribed. Who knows?

Congratulations to all Mamas that have birthed their Lo’s, safest delivery to the remaining Mamas

Exactly the same situation I'm in right now, wedding has been fixed for April next year but pregnancy came earlier than expected..boo wanted to suggest abortion but I immediately shunned the idea cos who knows tomorrow and its not like pregnancy is a disease. After much deliberation,we came to agree the worst that can happen is to do registry by February and get married in the church much later after birth as its not also allowed in my church(Catholic) but that will never push me to get rid of an innocent child

My Brother married his wife whilst she was 3months pregnant in the Catholic Church. Corpus Christi cathedral in Port Harcourt to be precise, and this was 4 years ago.

Hello mamas pls help me o
Am not lactating at all...pls where can I get any lactating cookies or how can I boost my milk.TIA

Take lots and lots of water, cucumbers, pap mixed with soybean, tea, fruits rich in fiber.
To save the stress of buying soybean always, I went for the 50/50 custard. I think it’s best for nursing mothers, These works for me. Hope they do for you to, and most importantly, always put baby to latch, it aids quicker flow as well.

Trust we and our Lo’s are doing great?

Please Mamas I want to ask, is it normal for babies eyes to lookin different directions sometimes? I notice my DD eyes some times does that. I read online that it’s normal, but I’ll appreciate feedbacks from experienced mothers.
She’s 2 months old by the way. Or could it be that she’s exposed to light too early? I’m just confused. Our next appointment is next week

Good afternoon Mamas in the house!
Please Mamas, we had our 6weeks immunization today, and amongst other things she was injected and given to orally, I saw ROTA 1 on the paper and it wasn’t administered to her.
While we were about leaving, one of the nurses walked up to me in secret and said she gives the ROTA stuff but it’s 9,000 Naira. She was speaking in hiding and said it’s also given to children At 6weeks but because it’s expensive, the government doesn’t add that to the free immunization.

My question is, if this ROTA is important, can’t it be announced in general that it is but it isn’t free? Why must it be done in secret?
What is the importance of it and is that the price in all hospitals? Please your inputs will be appreciated
Ps: we reside in Abuja
