I've tried to scan different satellite, no stations coming up. I'm thinking the TV might need a dish to scan those FTA channels.

I dnt want the deadboot issue to happen to the phone if he update it. I think it's best he stick to this cos he's still able to turn off and on the phone whenever he likes.

It is not a matter of update because no update is responsible for it actually. Even people that have never updated their devices are affected.
