childgodly: Timeline!! Thank you all so much for all the help I’m a first time applicant and can testify that with this thread you can submit an application on your own. I think it’s worth mentioning that I didn’t submit NSE documents initially. I submitted them later via web form when I saw others getting NSE request and I didn’t get but nothing really changed after that. No ghost updates, no eligibility, nothing. I sent lots of mails with no answer, not even the generic ones. I already deferred so I will not be going till December but at least now I can start making the necessary preparations. Thank you all once again!!
P.s I don’t have a new LOA yet but when I get it what should I do? Should I just send it via webform? God be praised |

Andir: My Application Details Submitted my application April 13th Upfront Medicals 19th May Additional Documents uploaded 10th August Eligibility review 11th August Rejected the NSE request, BVL 13th August Long pause and wait PPR dropped 1st September My background check still reads “we are processing “ it didn’t change since I submitted my application.
Documents uploaded Passport page Imm forms something funny happened, it made me worried, I couldn’t submit one of the forms I think imm5257 it kept refusing to submit I downloaded like plenty times filled and uploaded but it refused, I just left it since it was optional and didn’t submit it. Birth certificate Statement of result Nysc certificate Waec University transcript Appointment letter from my last job (I’m not currently working and I stated it, was a bit scared this would not work in my favor but I explained why I stopped working due to some family issues and eventually decided to concentrate on my application) Reference letter from previous employer Police Character Picture of me at work Proof of finance from sponsor my aunt (from an investment company of her mutual funds, this really scared me as it wasn’t a bank but God helped me oh, all my fasting, novenas and prayers worked) Letter of sponsorship from sponsor Affidavit of sponsorship Landed property of sponsor Receipt of first semester paid Aunts marriage certificate to show surname Family Pictures Aunt’s international passport My 4 page SOP
NOTE; I had an agent that advised me on documents to compile and helped edit my SOP and Aunts Sponsorship letter, so I handled my application myself, and I submitted it before coming to naira land, honestly I got scared when I joined, seeing the documents a lot of people put in their application I felt mine wasn’t enough, also her statement of account and international passport had her maiden name (my surname in it) I don’t know if that also helped, after some time I reached out to some monikers like Emeka and @shupy who also really helped me with good advice, I was patient and prayed that’s all I could do eventually I noticed that my NSE request was still showing till after a month, then I had to write a letter to explain why I wouldn’t be going the route because the investment company isn’t listed and I also got a letter from the company stating my aunt would sponsor me and she can redraw from her account anytime( I think this really helped my application) because I didn’t submit this letter earlier. So after waiting I still sent a webform of the letter from the investment company so it’ll be added to my application, sent it in July and it uploaded and they acknowledged they received it in August 11th I have a feeling this is what delayed my application even after BVL came almost 3weeke before my final result. In conclusion it was God all through because my application was far from perfect, I didn’t submit any personal bank statement or ownership of any property (this made me scared) but In the End I left it in Gods hands. I wish you all the best and thanks to everyone who has helped, and also people that post their timelines, honestly it helps a lot, I hope mine helps and encourages someone Congratulations. He is the God of all flesh, nothing is impossible for Him. |

Yeemmy: PPR ALERT
Application submitted: May 7 Biometrics completed: May 17 Request letter: May 14 Responded via webform: June 1 Responded via NSE platform: July 5 (uploaded Letter of Explanation with letter of English proficiency, and updated personal bank statement). Upfront medicals: June 1 Medicals passed: June 7 BVL: September 1 PPR: September 3
Documents submitted: CV Recommendation letter from my academic supervisors (1st and 2nd degree)—Both hammering on the need of my proposed PhD program and how it would greatly benefit Nigeria. Certificates and transcripts. Letter of support from my brother (He expressly noted the amount he transferred to my account, 2M). Letter of Attestation from my parents. Picture with my parents (recent). Land documents (Agreement).
POF: Funding Letter. Personal bank statement (4 months, with history of 3M). Brother’s bank statement (4 months, foreign account). Brother’s pay slip.
The wait was really daunting and exhausting. At some points, I was overwhelmed and doubting my application - It was after I submitted my application I join this thread, then, I began to raise webforms and SHOOTING EMAILS to Nairobi to further fine tune my application based on the recommendation and advice from the gurus here. More so, I PRAYED AND FASTED so that the VOs should overlook my mistakes
As at this time last year, I cant imagine that I could be at this level, in fact, I was about giving up on scholarship after receiving several love letters from Professors. Then, I give it another trial this year—I am heading to UBC for a PhD program with funding. (B.Tech 2014; MSc 2019).
To God be thy glory. Great is thy faithfulness.
To all PPR Hopefuls: You will get it very soon by the grace of God—Your labour will not be in vain. The mercy and the favour of God will envelope your application. God in His infinite mercies will cover your mistakes and color your efforts. The joy will go round. We all testify to the goodness of God and his name will be magnified. He will surely come through for everyone. He’s a faithful God: He thou has promised; he’s faithful and will make it happen very soon. It is well!
Thank you Everyone, God bless you WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!! Congratulations. |

mamatee2: Congratulations to those that recently received PPR and to the hopefuls, may the Lord grant your heart desires. Stay hopeful and prayerful. Your PPR is on the way! It will surely end in praise for what God cannot do does not exist!
Meanwhile, my daughter's (13 years old) PPR dropped this morning to the glory of God.
I applied for study permit along with her on May 3, 2021 but forgot to include a consent letter from my husband for her to travel along with me. So when my PPR dropped on Aug 24 (I already shared all the details and timeline in the previous thread), hers didn't drop, but instead I got a request letter for the Non Accompanying Parent Authorization Letter to travel.
I uploaded the letter on the 25th Aug and the wait began...I actually thought it wouldn't take more than a day or 2 because her eligibility started on that 24th Aug, so I believed it was just the authorization letter that was delaying the approval.
I sent webforms and emails but received the usual auto responses.
Yesterday, I sent an email to nairobi and I added "PRIORITY" to the subject of the email. (Note: I did this because I read on their contact page that they are currently focusing only on a list of priority enquiries one of which is my case - "You need to submit documents requested by one of our officers" . Please, I'm not advising this except your case is on the priority enquiries.
As soon as I sent the email, I got the attached response...this isn't the usual response. When I saw "Missions abroad", I thought to myself, Mission ke...I hope I've not complicated things. I kept hoping and praying. Then her PPR dropped very early this morning.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and are still contributing to this platform. You will surely be rewarded by the great rewarder himself. God bless you all! congratulations. He that started the good work has completed it. |

Ivygive: LONG POST ALERT
PPR REQUEST First application Applied 2019 October and was denied Dec 2019 for purpose of visit and family ties. Reasons given in GCMS was; VAGUE SOP, had an MSC and applied for PGD. I used my kids and husband as family ties yet was denied. There was a rain of rejection that set. Covid came so I took a break 2020.
Second application April 2nd 2021 Medical upfront march 26th 2021 Biometrics 2019 Ordered 1st GCMS July eligibility blank Ordered 2nd GCMS August 4th hasn't arrived. Sent webforms to update bank statement because I ddnt give MBS and new passport In July. PPR 1st September Eligibility ddnt start till I saw ppr request ,background as well is still under review.
Documents submitted IMM forms Tuition receipt for a semester is MBA 2yrs SOP 6pages LOE 4pages CAC documents for hubby Personal bank statements first bank no MBS Certificates Admission letter IELTS Academic and General Self-sponsored
What I did differently! I want to encourage people with visa denied, this post is for you it will surely come no matter the amount of trials as long as you don't give up.I felt very one from 2019 to date, never missed a post. You guys are a faceless family. I rugged this Canadian dream with 2PNP's not successful, awaiting another, expired IELTS twice.
I explained in details purpose for MBA and future prospects back home. I expressed sadness for the reason of family ties even though it could mean more(Assets) but I used my kids and hubby. I added lovely christmas family pictures, me on my farm feeding animals. Pictures and receipt of machines in the farm. I opted for self sponsored so I had to do extra with just pictures as proof. Every application is unique do what works for you. Nigerians are not trusted easily so I hard no choice, heard the way other countries apply honestly we do extra to proof a point. They don't stress yet get approved in weeks. I choose self sponsored so they will concentrate on only my account. Hubby transferred 1st semester tuition and I made an excel breakdown of how I get payed, not a salary earner so my monthly pay is not regular and I explained. Paid myself so the account keeps running.
Started online and sent enrollment letter and vaccination card, bank statements updated. New passport with validity of 1+ year not ready to queue in Ottawa, abeg thing are still easier here. If webform and mail was a person, I will be sanctioned.
They school asked me not to register for second semester because they cant refund 2terms just 6hours to PPR. I made up my mind to continue.
Chocs, Justmellow ,Frankrobben1,@lekiboboe all contributed to my submission but you all contributed most to the knowledge . I am glad I started in the month so there was no way I wont testify here. Excuse my typos I don't have English certificate . Congratulations. |

Doree: Timeline: Long Post Alert!!!
I actually typed some of this in faith on 27th July in anticipation of PPR thank God I get to post it now.
First Time applicant. Virgin passport sef Got admission for a funded program in Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia for an LLM. The scholarship was just enough to cover my school fees though, so I was still left to provide funds for living expenses. Admission tips: I actually followed Dr. Linda Iheme's you tube tips on getting scholarship programs. I am glad it worked out on my first trial.
I gathered the necessary documents I needed. My only problem became proving my funds for living expenses. I got a Deed of gift from my dad of about 12k CAD which would technically be the major fund in my account upon the transfer of the cash. That was my fear throughout the entire wait. But what I ensured, courtesy of the free advice being thrown around in this forum, was that I proved hat my husband and I were established in our own way. I submitted my Husband’s travel history, his Cac documents, my salary account, my identification as a Lawyer etc. I just wanted to pass the message that I am not relying entirely on my father, that my husband "who I refused to show his account statement" is still capable of supporting me. I backed all this up with lots of prayers, Rosary and Novenas and a well structured SOP. I am good at writing. Thank you. Did I mention I also wrote my father's letter of support and my husbands spousal consent letter where I wrote from their point of view all geared towards giving a firm foundation to the buildings I erected in my SOP? My only problem became the uploading part. Unfortunately, I am not tech savvy at all, and I can't help it. Luckily, I got the help of someone I contacted from here "Blavkmaan I hail o" who helped with all those compressions and uploading stuff. Not without discarding some of my 'prized' documents o which he deemed as unnecessary. And then, the wait began...
In all, I give all Glory to God who have deemed me worthy to enter an international flight for the first time. See you all in Canada! Much love from here
Docs submitted In addition to those listed up: Client info: Admission letter LLB Certificate BL certificate Letter of past introduction from my Lawyer ( it was for this purpose, for obvious reasons) Sample of my Lawyer's stamp to indicate active practice of Law. Proof of fund: My SOA Funding letter A fixed deposit certificate from where I spinned the narrative that my father fixed the stated sum in anticipation of my admission. The money was transferred the next day after the collapse of the deposit to my account and i pointed it out on my SOA. I didnt show my dad's SOA though. Home Ties: Marriage certificate. Son's birth certificate I also indicated my shares in my husband's CAC documents. Nevermind the company is not active o
Thank you all for your active support and advice on this forum. Especially JustMellow, Blavkmaan, Frank robben etc Finally, i did this entire process myself, from admission to PPR courtesy of this group. We have a treasure here guys, let's make maximum use of it and for those with PPR already, let's keep the thread alive by giving back to what made us.
Oh, for those still waiting, goodluck guys, it will go round. Don't underestimate your emails and webforms. It worked for me cos trust me, I bombarded them this past two weeks though none of it ever got acknowledged.
Please pardon all typos. Congratulations. It’s not by power or might, but by his grace. |

It appears the application had been approved already because few minutes after sending an email to the Nairobi office, the PPR dropped. Till now my Eligibility has not started, just shows final decision as approved. So sending mails may help.
Submitted Application May 17th Upfront Medicals July 22nd Correspondence letter and PPR August 27th
- A former colleague stood as my sponsor and gave her statement - I included nothing showing personal assets (been out of work for over a year, so no bank statement) - I am going for a PhD program (fully funded) - I applied with my spouse (still awaiting his PPR)
God is able! Thank you for all the information on this page! Congratulations |
