If you are talking about quality of brick I get that but quality of how brick are laid man me nor understand that one oh,U name will son enter my list

most mason work on block counting ,i am sure if u can neglect the counting and pay them per day to lay let's say 50 blocks u will be able to achieve that sir ,with a competent mason . i know about 3 mason who can do DAT for, if u wouldn't mind we can experiment with ur project.

we do that here too in naija,many estate don't allow block settings before casting the columns and beams,so u have to do them first

in frame structures ,the blocks are not load bearing ,just serving as cover for the building,d reason it's not advisable to use 6inches blocks is because the beam and columns will be designed as 9inches,using 6inches won't match the sizes of d beams and columns

Just compare Blocks made by the owner/user within lagos, with a "for sale", commercially made one!
From being very thin (thickness), to being under-sized (wideness), to too much sand and even poor quality sand.... e tire me sef!

Even wood is cut to substandard size!
When Engineers and Architect recommend you use a 2x3 sized wood, you go to the sawmill to buy it and what they sell for you as 2x3 is actually 1.5 x 2.5!

if you query it, they have "ready-made" excuses like: this China machines are not designed to produce 2x3!; It is only Japan machine that still does that size! It is caused by NEPA vibration which makes the machine to lose setting!

Same with Aluminium Roofing sheets: Give me 0.55mm and when l measure it, it is reading 0.47mm!

I ask: So Machine is now the one "setting and controlling" itself?

Even "measures" used in selling food in small quantities are not left out!
What about Petrol Pumps that sell "air" into your fuel tank or using Meters that have been tweaked to slow down?

nothing is impossible Oga egunmogaji ,i believe it can be achieved if it is clearly stated before the start of block laying process that the wall will not be plastered,the client should also be ready to do that at an extra cost comparing to the normal cost of laying blocks ,finally the blocks should be bought from a competent block moulder that has a quality and perfect mould.

just focus on ur bungalow ,because u have to budget about 18million for what you want to change to . i will advice u if u dont have that amount don't venture into it to avoid abandoned project

this might happen as a result of poor compaction of filling ,lack of DPM in the German floor ,poor fixing of the tiles or wrong choice of type of foundation .

Stop acting if you can do more this engineer . The parapet was done since 2013 and now it's 2016 . If the house is not strong enough the building will collapse under six months . As for the column when I am done with the pop I will post the pictures . So what else?

,y not if he needs my service i will render that to him at a negotiable and agreed price ,i will start with a periodic investigation on the likely cause of the defect before giving him the probable solution, every building construction problems has a solution as long as the owner is willing to cough out the money.

people will come here and start blaming engineers for the defect on their building projects,forgetting the fact that clients might be the cause often time, a situation where by the engineer advice the client to do soil test ,structural design etc and he start grunting my great grandfather built a mansion in 1942 and he didn't do common architectural design. when the building now start sinking ,he will run to nairaland properties police station to report the engineer.

i am sure u are planning to build a small hut that is y u want to involve baba mufu,get a competent engineer that will give u good value for ur money instead of looking for an incompetent self made engineer that u will pay peanuts.Good job requires good money
