Hell all,

I want to use gravel to beautify the space in front of the house under a tree, it will also serve as car park in cases of spillover.
We have used interlocked stones before but the tree root pulls out the stones and makes it uneven, so we are considering using gravel.

My questions are:

1) Which type of sand should placed under to prepare the floor before filling up with gravel?

2) Which size of gravel will give best results of good looks and hold the stones in place when vehicles park and drive in/out?

Feel free to add any other comments of note.

Thanks
use sharp sand for filling and use 3/4 size of granite

I keep laughing when someone will just post one rubbish pix and say i did this with not upto a million, when u ask him did u do this and that, then he will say baba mulika gave me 2 trips of sand , baba kudus dug the foundation for me free because he is my cousin . nobody will do anything for free in lagos, ph and abj for you cos they dont send you .
after some months they Will now come back here and start giving us problem, help o water is dripping from under my tiles o. Help o my this and that is menstruating o.
.My friend nothing good comes cheap if u are to follow standard procedure of construction u have to put so many things in place . what is worth doing is what doing well . When professionals give u an advice for free u should be thankful because of their kind gesture cos that is what they do for living. Build right cos there are some errors that can be impossible to rectify once it has been made unless u bring down the entire structure . just my one cents .

Uduakuduakobong:
Good evening nairalanders and a Happy New month to you all.
My people I need ur advice over an issue am currently facing at my workplace.
I work in a multipurpose cooperative society that have reportedly been a victim of corrupt admin and back room staff few weeks before I joined them.
However, I got the job based on recommendation from the CEO's wife who happens to be in charge, firmly incharge of every activity going on in the office. From fund disbursement, down to everything in the office. I started the job feeling Cozy with them n did my job judiciously, doing my best to keep the records straight.
Due to the fact that my Boss' wife handled everything in the office, we weren't privy to some information of utmost importance in the office. At the time we got to be aware of such, she had already began to calculate deficits for us and these deficits were not factual. It was a total blunder and disaster. We brought up an argument to contest these deficits, yet, it began to grow worse.
Note:
1.She is not a trained accountant nor auditor.
2. She made multiple mistakes which contradicts basic accounting principles.
3.She refused to pay us our salaries because by her faulty records, we are holding not only the Company's money, customer's savings are inclusive.
The thing is this, my records from day one are straight, yet, errors are inevitable. My name has be stained by her and her husband as far as the organisation is concerned. Also, they have refused to employ the service of an external and professional auditor to audit our accounts. They are now standing both as the victim, prosecutor and judge.
My question is this: since am sure of my innocence, should I make a case?
Thanks....
Go ahead and make a case .

Good morning,
After foundation works for my project, i now want to take it to lintel level. A bricklayer gave me an estimate of 2500 blocks
Cement: 75 bags
Sand: 5 trips
Labour: 180k

My ogas, please help me to vet as i am trying to cut cost while not compromising quality. How many blocks will a bag of cement lay? And what's the average labour cost of laying a block? Thanks
pay him N50 per block,50 x 2500= 125,000.
buy at most 60 bags of cement . buy sand in batches. Buy 2 trips first .

I have a situation on my hand. I ll try to be brief.
I moved out of my father's house in 2013 to my own rented apartment. His house is a four flat inhabited mostly by his family members.
In 2015, I had crisis in my job where salaries were cut by 65%, as at that time one of the family members moved to his personal house so a flat in my father's house was vacant. I moved in.
I got married 2016 and my wife joined me in that flat. 2017 till date has opened my eyes to the errors of staying in a family house as family members began disrespecting my mother, my wife and myself and guess what? My father took their side.
I paid for an apartment 2 months ago and I intend to move in month end. I told my dad about my plan last night and he was most unsupportive, saying that I am misplacing my priorities that I should have built my house with the money used for paying rent. Saying his family members that stayed are all in their various houses.
Am I supposed to follow the family pattern? What's his problem?? Can't I still have my own house whIle in a rented apartment?

Comments please.
bros u are on the right path. Go ahead and move to your rented apartment. God will bless u from there and u will build ur own house
