Lovable LarrySun |
VanTee20: Nowhere. . . I've just been too absorbed by schoolwork to be as active here as I once was.I'm making it. We are all coping. Thank you. Good to see you. ![]() |

Tovot: hello tex, no p, how are you and how's your brother coping? He is coping as well as can be expected. We have to go on no matter how hard it is the think of Jason not continuing this journey with us. You've read my diary. You know I feel ya girl. *big hug* I've lost so much of my diary. I keep thinking of new things I wish I still had. I remember the gist of what I wrote, but I can never quite repeat what I once typed. The emotion is gone and I can't get the words back without it. |
firestar: -I don't care... who you are...where you're from... what you did... as long as you luff me...Hehe...I luff you. @VanTee20...where have you been?!! |
I still dance in the rain by Tex I kept your secret. How could I not, When there was so much to be lost. How could I betray, When so much depends on me, No matter the cost. The years they are long Since the song that in the end Made me strong. Was there ever a thought From you at what my silence bought? Through the whole betrayal tour Did you ever see How much it took to leave your secret be? Will the protected ones eventually Know of your blow, or will they never see? The sea never gives up her dead. An ocean of things never said, But He who sees…knows your deeds, And those evil seeds You spread. Even in death your secret I will keep, For there are those who just can’t believe Someone such as you could ever deceive. Beyond the vail, you did sail To the place we all must reap. I remain. Despite the pain of The promise you broke, And the innocence you took… I still dance in the rain. |
Tovot: Hello TexSorry had to run. Hi... ![]() |

Tovot: heyyyyy long time, what have you been up to?Was out of town for a while at my nephews funeral. It was very sad. My older brother's only son. |
Tovot: hello everyone, hello especially to the old run-away faces, where did you all run to? welcome back.Hi Tovie |
@donnypool What "wonderful ideas" do you have? |
donnypool: All we need are investors, any other persons should sit their butt back in their country. 170 million nor be beansPeople like you...who ignore the issues and look for perfume and roses instead of facing the issues head-on are why Nigeria is in this mess. I made this thread in hopes of waking people like you up, but as usual you hide your head in the sand and pretend everything is peachy. As for the mods...I hope they were thinking the same. Edited: @ the bolded How many investors will continue to invest when BH decides to take their fight beyond the North. Not that their reign of terror in the north is not enough. Do you imagine they are not heading for the high Christian populations next? |
matrixme: I don't think the OP has the best interests of the country at heart, for going around the internet, searching for which country is warning her citizens to stay away from Nigeria. I am sorry to say, but that effort is such a waste of efforts, when you can rather read more interesting and positive news about the nation like the recent revaluation of the poverty standard, the fact that 30 car companies will soon start operation in Nigeria, more foreign investments and attention on the Nigerian soil among others. Let's think and believe positive about this nation for once. There is no perfect nation on earth, and we must do away with our differing beliefs in polity and unsportmanlike conduct.Did you even read the Fortune Magazine article? "Congested roads and high density hardly match the world’s vision of Africa as a place of mud-hut villages and sweeping landscapes. But increasingly this will be the real Africa. Within 20 years most Africans will live in urban areas. By 2050, Africa’s city dwellers will more than triple, from about 400 million to 1.2 billion–one of the fastest urbanizations in human history, according to a report earlier this year by the UN-Habitat. Managing that growth is a challenge the likes of which the continent has never seen–and yet Lagos offers a laboratory for Africa’s future. At stake is whether its exploding growth will widen Nigeria’s huge income gulf–about 60% of Nigerians live on less than $1.25 a day–or create more equitable ways of living. (What’s more, pockets of violent insurgency, like the Boko Haram terrorism base in the northeast that has gripped the world in recent months, are a stark reminder that Nigeria bears the scars of its conflict-ridden past.) While Lagos’s rich are getting richer, the wealth gap remains stark. In general Africa’s booming cities will hardly end poverty. The UN projects that most of Africa’s new city dwellers will probably wind up living in slums and warns, “The ability of African cities to cope with these numbers is questionable.” |
ikp4succes: Nigeria army are not motivated to fight boko haram. Their oga's are corrupt and somitimes hole their salary so they dont care sometimes to fight.I keep hearing all these symptoms of a corrupt government. Perhaps it's time to do something about the problem. Instead of putting band-aides on bleeding arteries, put a tourniquet on and stop the hemorrhaging. Even if you lose the leg, The patient can still live. "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world." Abraham Lincoln |
ikp4succes: u forgot Russia, they bomb planes by mistake..They don't need any better technology. They are running circles around the Nigerian army without it. |
sunnyshayne: They should as well close their embassies and go. Who cares! I have seen foreigners grooving in naija more than we Nigerians. So that is your solution to the problems Nigeria is facing? How does that solve anything? |
bolaino: hello dear, pls put us in prayers we are in a very distressful. Situation right now in our country and it seems like things are about to go kaboom, have you seen skeeter on here since after the attack on nairaland? Hope you're good though, thanks for your love and concern for us, I appreciate. He deactivated...he is taking a break |
pansophist: Oh, so what are you trying to say really? whats your point? There is no need in arguing with someone as apathetic as you. |
SLIDEwaxie: who is he? Bill gates? It is this attitude that allows the carnage to continue. |
pansophist: Madam, no place is safe, apply your common sense everywhere and you will be finePeople at the mall, at school and waiting for buses should have had more common sense than to live normal lives? ![]() |
pansophist: You make sense. Apply common sense anywhere you are and you will be fine. I see foreigners flexing in Nigeria and walking down freely no one hurts them. The media is simply overblowing things, its not as bad as it is been presented.Tell that to the families of the dead and kidnapped. |
namelesss: noooo don't worry ur self, Nigerian government can protect foreigners, it's jst the citizens that the gvmnt doesn't give a damn aboutSo what can be done about this? There is an election coming up right? |
Idrismusty97: They have issued travel warnings against Israel too. It's not a new thing. Israel own is even worst, Some international airlines have cancels flights to and from Israel. Nigeria can issue their own travel warning to certain countries too if they like. That wouldn't stop real business men and women from coming to this country. Money conquers all!So you think it's not a big deal because they've also issued a warning against Israel? Seriously? So you are fine with Nigeria being considered a war zone like Israel and Gaza, as long as it doesn't affect your finances? ![]() |
More and more countries are issuing travel warnings against Nigeria. These are travel warnings from different countries and travel sites: 20 Nations Issue Travel Warnings Against Nigeria Canada: http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/nigeria USA: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/alertswarnings/nigeria-travel-warning.html Australia: http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Nigeria Also: France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. Even Turkey: http://www.todayszaman.com/news-348829-turkey-issues-travel-warning-to-nigeria-libya.html Other articles and websites: http://www.internations.org/nigeria-expats/guide/living-in-nigeria-15538/safety-and-crime-in-nigeria-3 http://newtelegraphonline.com/security-travel-warnings-nigeria/ http://www.punchng.com/news/us-uk-others-issue-travel-warnings-on-nigeria/ http://www.nigerianwatch.com/news/1194-britain-germany-canada-and-the-us-issue-fresh-nigerian-travel-warning “All the four UN statements showed a deep sense of international outrage but also of frustration at the seemingly helplessness of the Nigerian government to effectively control the situation. In fact, some of the statements noted that international laws are being broken with impunity in Nigeria” http://www.theguardianmobile.com/readNewsItem1.php?nid=25278 Basically people are afraid to visit Nigeria because it’s government can’t be trusted to protect its own people, much less worry about foreigners. It’s too bad. Nigeria could be so much more than what people see on the news. What can be done? |
