jossi994: Maybe thats the reason i'm empathetic. Have this uncanny ability to mirror people and draw them outta their shells. Could it be cos of my reading or an inborn trait? It is probably both. I think empathetic people are drawn to reading. It is sometimes easier to deal with the emotions of a stranger than to drown in the emotions of the ones we love. |

You can try to justify bad/criminal behavior all you want, but it is still illegal and sinful. I'm not sure God will find you blameless on the last day. I keep hearing this needs to be looked at on an individual basis. I agree, but let's look in the mirror first. |
MrAnony1: No that is obviously not what he is saying. So now we are saying the ra.pe is petty theft brought on by the victim. Is that it? I'm sorry, I still believe the perpetrator is still culpable. So what if he was lured there. He took the bait didn't he. Satan tempts us all the time. If we give in to temptation, are we exempt because he tempted us? If we find our neighbors door unlocked, do we go in and rob him blind and rape his wife? Of course we are justified, after all he left his door unlocked when she was changing... ![]() |

ihedinobi2: Did you deliberately open the zipper? Are you seriously trying to say that it is ok to sin if we are tempted. I guess in that case, any sin we do because we were tempted is justified. There is ALWAYS a choice no matter the temptation. We each chose our path. Temptation will always be a factor. The choices we make are on US individually. It will be me, alone, facing God. |
Mynd44: Even if a girl removed her clothes and walked into a group of men, how can she be have caused her rape? She committed public display of nudity, the men should not take law in their hands.Wait! What law says they are justified in rap3ping her? |

X-Ray Jet Illustration courtesy NASA/CXC/M. Weiss An artist's rendering, made using data collected by the orbiting Chandra X-ray Observatory, shows a quasar galaxy with a jet of high-energy particles extending more than 100,000 light-years from the supermassive black hole at its center. The object, located 12 billion light-years from Earth, is the most distant such jet ever detected. These quasar jets are formed when electrons emitted from a black hole impact with cosmic background radiation left by the big bang, giving astronomers clues about the conditions in the early universe.

Intermediate-Mass Black Hole Photograph courtesy NASA/CXC/U. of Michigan/J. Liu et al./ NOAO/AURA/NSF/T. Boroson Astronomers think the object shown in this Chandra X-ray Observatory image (in box) may be an elusive intermediate-mass black hole. Located about 32 million light-years from Earth in the Messier 74 galaxy (M74), this object emits periodic bursts of x-rays at a rate that suggests it is much larger than a stellar-mass black hole but significantly smaller than the supermassive black holes found at the centers of galaxies. Few such middling black holes have been discovered, and scientists aren't sure how they form.

Unexpected X-Rays Photograph courtesy NASA/CXC/OCIW/P. Martini et al. In 2000, astronomers studying the A2104 galaxy cluster (in blue) discovered powerful x-rays emanating from several black holes in regions previously thought too old and devoid of gas to create such radiation. They had expected to find perhaps one such x-ray source in the area, but instead found six. The discovery, made using the Chandra X-ray Observatory, changed many of the assumptions scientists had made about the life cycles of galaxies and black holes.

Black Hole Wind Photograph courtesy NASA/CXC/MIT/UCSB/P. Ogle et al./STScI/A. Capetti et al. A composite x-ray/optical image of the active NGC 1068 galaxy reveals an enormous plume of hot gas emanating from the supermassive black hole at the galaxy's center. Scientists think the shape and speed of the plume, which moves at about 1 million miles an hour (1.6 million kilometers an hour), are caused by the funneling effect of a doughnut-shaped ring of cooler gas and dust that surrounds the black hole.

Perseus Black Hole Photograph courtesy NASA/CXC/IoA/A. Fabian et al. A view of the central region of the Perseus galaxy cluster, one of the most massive objects in the universe, shows the effects that a relatively small but supermassive black hole can have millions of miles beyond its core. Astronomers studying this photo, taken by the Chandra X-ray Observatory, determined that sound waves emitted by explosive venting around the black hole are heating the surrounding area and inhibiting star growth some 300,000 light-years away. "In relative terms, it is as if a heat source the size of a fingernail affects the behavior of a region the size of Earth," said Andrew Fabian of Cambridge University.

Image123: duh, Apostolic Faith is in UK and USA, that's what their members do largely. JW don't collect blood or something, they don't go to prison for it. Stop deceiving yourself alone. He's actually right about the US. Most people think the law requires that all children attending public school must have had all recommended vaccines before entering school and must provide documentation to prove it. This is not true. There is no federal law mandating vaccine exemptions. They are left up to individual states. Every state has at least one kind of law governing it. Some have two or even three. All 50 states have a medical exemption. All states except Mississippi and West Virginia have religious exemptions. And 18 have philosophical exemptions. This is a site that advocates for children’s rights to receive medical care. They are especially opposed to religious exemption from child health and safety laws. You might find it enlightening. It highlights religious Exemptions from preventive and diagnostic measures, Exemptions from providing MEDICAL care for sick children. http://childrenshealthcare.org/?page_id=24 You might find this interesting: Federal POLICY In response to Christian Science church lobbying, the federal GOVERNMENT began requiring states to enact religious exemptions from child abuse and neglect charges in 1974. CHILD founders Rita and Douglas Swan lobbied for several years against this regulation. The federal government rescinded it in 1983. In 1996, however, Congress enacted a law stating that the federal Child Abuse PREVENTION and Treatment Act (CAPTA) did not include “a Federal requirement that a parent or guardian provide a child any medical service or treatment against the religious beliefs of the parent or guardian.” 42 USC 5106i Furthermore, Sen. Dan Coats, R-Indiana, and Congressman Bill Goodling, R-Pennsylvania, claimed during floor discussion that parents have a First Amendment right to withhold MEDICAL care from children. CHILD Inc. believes the present law discriminates against a class of children and endangers them. CAPTA mandates that states in the grant program have laws requiring parents to provide needed medical CARE for their children, but simultaneously allows those states to give parents in faith-healing sects the right to withhold all medical treatment from children. In January, 1997, within a month after the religious exemption was added to CAPTA, the Christian Science church got HB1104 introduced in Maryland that exempted believers in spiritual healing from all civil and criminal charges regardless of the harm to the child, using language taken verbatim from the new federal law. HB1104 was defeated. Also in 1997, Oregon enacted a religious defense to first- and second-degree manslaughter. In 1998, Washington enacted the following defense to criminal mistreatment: “It is the intent of the legislature that a person who, in good faith, is furnished Christian Science treatment by a duly accredited Christian Science practitioner in lieu of medical care is not considered deprived of medically necessary HEALTH CARE or abandoned.” RCW 9A.42.005. Washington has made prayer “medically necessary health care” for all diseases of helpless children. In 2003 CAPTA was reauthorized with no change to the religious exemptions although several organizations called upon Congress to remove the exemption, including the United Methodist Church, National Association of Medical Examiners, Justice for Children, and the National Child Abuse Coalition, which consists of about thirty national organizations working to PREVENT child abuse. |
Caracta: I'm usually afraid of people who cook up excuses for bad behaviour. It's just like stealing a car because it wasn't secured.Exactly! ihe, I must disagree with you. Man's laws my allow excuses for sin, but Gods laws do not. There is always a consequence for sin. It is ludicrous to believe ra.pe is ever justified. It is up to the individual to look away from images/people that are a temptation. We are not justified in committing sin simply because another is temping us. We are charged with controlling ourselves. It is up to us to walk away. If the temptation follows us, it is our job to remove it from our presence, not to give in to it. |

Interesting read: http://www.space.com/24454-stephen-hawking-black-hole-theory.html In 1974, Stephen Hawking found that matter and energy can escape a black hole through what is now known as Hawking radiation. However, he contended that the radiation would be so scrambled that scientists could never work backwards to understand what fell into the black hole in the first place. This violates a basic piece of quantum theory, the idea that information cannot be destroyed. In 2004, Hawking had a change of heart and admitted he was wrong about information loss. However, no one is quite sure how information could escape a black hole. Information radiating out of a black hole is not compatible with general relativity, and destroying information isn't possible within the confines of quantum theory. So, who is right? Hawking's two-page study attempts to resolve the issue by doing away with event horizons and replacing them with the idea of "apparent horizons." "The absence of event horizons means that there are no black holes — in the sense of regimes from which light can't escape to infinity," Hawking wrote. "There are, however, apparent horizons, which persist for a period of time." These apparent horizons shift with the behavior of quantum particles within the black hole. This theory suggests, then, that information can radiate from the black hole. However, this idea doesn't seem to address the firewall paradox at all, said Raphael Bousso, a theoretical physicist at the University of California , Berkeley. "It's not possible to have both of those things, to have no drama at the apparent horizon and to have the information come out," Bousso told SPACE.com. "Stephen just doesn't discuss this argument, so it's unclear how he means to address it." Don Page, physicist at the University of Alberta in Canada, agreed. "I do not think that eliminating event horizons by itself solves the firewall problem, which is a subtle problem," he wrote in an email. And an event horizon-free black hole isn't a new proposal, either, Page said. "The idea that a black hole does not truly have an event horizon goes back more than a third of a century, and I would not be surprised if someone could trace it back even many years earlier," |

First of all, it is impossible to “know” someone in a little over a month. You may think someone has a way about them that you like…so far. People can hide who they really are for a while. You need to get to know someone for more than a month before you can truly know them and fall in love with them. She probably thinks you are moving too fast. Back off for a while and see what happens. What you described in the op sounds a bit stalker-like. Be careful. You may have scared her. She may also be unsure of her feelings for you. Like I said, you moved in pretty fast. Leave her alone for a while. After a few weeks, if she doesn’t call you, call her again. If she doesn’t pick up, move on. |
Jmaya: I did jamb and scored 198, I did change of institution to Osun state university. Where I chose microbiology instead of medicine. please what's microbiology all about? Where can I work as a microbiologist? Or should I go for Science Laboratory technology in Rufus Giwa polytechnic? I need urgent replies please. Why did you choose microbiology, if you didn't even know what it was? I am from the US, so I don't know anything about JAMB. Is that score high or low? |

Kay17: I know what I asked. Apparently from what you have said, God makes the decision of what action is to be made not us mortals. Incidentally we merely extend and further our faith by obeying God. TheWisest: Inspiring viewpoint. So inasmuchas we encourage reading outside our comfort zone, reading within our comfort zone is advisable circumstantially. I get your point. TheWisest: Not that I didn't notice this thread or the topic. I enjoyed the input of every reader in here, naming them @onegig and @larrysun especially, based on the clarity of their writing voices. But you? I thought your comment shows you have a kind heart. How did you get it?I’ve been called “kind hearted” enough in my life that I’ve learned to accept and appreciate it as a means of describing me. I don’t remember a time when kindness was not a part of me, but to be honest, I think it started as a survival mechanism. You would have to know a great deal more about me, to know why I say that. I feel blessed to have come out of my youth with that quality. Things could have gone so far in the other direction without inspired guidance. |
