You said it all.

The islamization is a red herring.
This reminds of an American presidential hopeful...John F. Kennedy was Catholic. The opposition continuously put out propaganda that if he were elected, the Catholic Church would be running our country.

He was elected, and as it turns out, he was a major force for good. He was pivotal in affecting policies that changed the social, economic and military climate of America for the better.

Pls how is this a haiku? The syllables are scattered.
The first one is 5-7-5

You are right about the other two.

Sometimes things get lost in translation. Also not all poets stay true to the old style. Other than that...I'm not sure.

Here are some quotes and a question to inspire you. Choose one or more and write a poem in any form we've learned so far.

1. Collect moments, not things.

2. Choose to see the world through grateful eyes. It will never look the same again.

3. The mountains are calling and I must go.

4. Write a poem using metaphor to describe yourself or someone you know.

5. What color is your world?

The third stanza repeats the
structure of the first (another haiku) and the fourth repeats the second, alternating in this pattern until the poem is completed.

The next
poet adds the second stanza, a couplet with seven syllables per line.

To create a Renga, one poet writes the first stanza ,
which is three lines long with a total of seventeen
syllables – the same structure as a haiku.

RENGA
Renga, means 'linked poem'. Poets work in pairs or small groups, taking turns composing the alternating three-line and two-line stanzas.

Poems For ReviewRe: Random Ramblings From The Mind Of Tex by texanomaly(op): 9:16am On Jan 18, 2015
all4naija:
If this is not a prose and you are using shadow figuratively then I have no problem with that because it could mean a lot of things to different folks. But, if you are questioning what shadow is literally then you need to read up on opaque and if that is not sufficient for your understanding of how shadow is cast you can use common sense to decipher that it is due to thick layer of wall the light cannot penetrate and it disperses through the sides taking the shape of the image to form the shadow. 'Darkness spreads its cloak, those shifty companion are no more ' part reveals the shadow is dark therefore cannot be seen in darkness.

This is merely playing on words or creative use of words to express a common phenomenon and how it relate to real-life idea is something I can not wrap my head over in this post though. This is much ado about nothing in a nutshell.

Thank you.
Some people strangle the life out of anything fun. undecided

What Do Shadows Do When We're Not Looking?
by Tex

Where do shadows go? Do they slumber? Do they snore? They lengthen and stretch as the sun starts to sink. When lights have faded and all the world is sleeping, do they dream?

Do shadows talk to one another? Is there a secret code? Are they chatting away when we're not listening, or making faces when we're not watching?

If we could peek, would we find them snacking, or blowing rings while smoking cigars? Maybe they're slipping and sliding across waxed floors.

Yeah yeah, I know I know. When the light is gone there is no shadow cast. Once darkness spreads its cloak, those shifty companions are no more.
Of course they disappear, but are you sure?

Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world. ~Abraham Lincoln

Obinoscopy is TANoid in the closet. He just moves everything that is against Buhari to front page. Obinoscopy doesn't care if it is genuine or not. Obinoscopy has an agenda aginst APC and Buhari.
I have heard that some mods can be bought off. I am certainly not saying Obinoscopy has been. He is not the only mod who can move content to front page you know.
