Yersterday:
Please dear Daddy and Mommy, forgive me for bringing this here. am doing this because av run out of options and I don't have any other choice. My name is kęlļy, I gave birth to my boy Ayomide 2 years ago and since then it has been a rollercoaster of one event to another. My fiance abandoned us and I move in back with my parents taking care of my son all alone without any assistance even though he was always falling very sick all the time. I notice that he always feels discomfort when his trying to breath so I looked for money to take my son to the hospital. He was diagnosed with congenital heart defect, a hole in his heart, as the cause of his breathing problems. I've cried my eyes out but if only crying can solve problem. I can't stand to see my child in pain.

I've gone almost everywhere I can possibly go but no hope except for hospital. Doctors say that he will need to undergo surgery at UCH for N4.5million and my family with the help of some very kind hearted people have been able to raise part of N3 million. We have sold off almost everything valuable to us but it's not yet enough, that why I am appealing to well meaning Nigerians, if you're touched to save my son's life, please find it in your kind heart to extend a hand of help to him. Nothing is too small in the sight of God. Am calling kind hearted people, please help save my boys life. Please am also calling upon any NGO that can accept my sons condition please. May God almighty bless you immensely and wipe away sorrow from your eye. Amen.

‘Sustainable development goals’ with billions at their disposal and all they can talk about is ‘skills acquisition center’ and ‘blocks of classroom’.

We know what these usually entail. Usually lackluster places for a handful of artisans to learn and ugly classroom blocks. Is that what they truly want to boast about doing?

You veering off the issue in discuss here, it is not about doing a 9-5 or having more free time at home

a toxic woman is a toxic woman, if you the husband is weak, 'your body will tell you' as they say

If you have a good and respectful woman thank God for your life, that doesn't mean all men were lucky. mind you, these things sometimes don't show while you are courting, you most times found out while married already.

I am not advocating domestic violence but don't be a weak man! Never be!

The ones that enter domestic violence are the weak men.
Set your boundaries. If you feel those are crossed, go for divorce and move on.

And I’m not veering from the issue. Many of those who are labeled ‘toxic’ are those who are determined to be seen as equal partners in the marriage.

Are you married? even if you are thank God you married a good one

Some women are bullies, they can turn you to houseboy if you are weak and allow everything to slide

If you feel your wife is disrespectful to you, the law courts everywhere accept divorce petitions. Move on and marry someone else who you feel will treat you better.

How is someone who is gainfully employed being ‘treated as a houseboy’? Is it when you’re at work, doing your 9-5?

99% of the time when someone argues with this ‘houseboy’ line, the man is a layabout doing nothing while the woman is hardworking.

If you’re not the breadwinner in the house, you’re the partner with way more free time and you’re overseas where getting a maid or nanny is prohibitively expensive…the common sense thing is to pick up as much of the house chores as possible.

If your wife works 12 hour shifts as a Nurse or care worker and you’re not working at all, why will you not take care of some stuff at home if you’re not a clown?

The others might not but I wil respond.

These kind of horrible issues will happen, with the innocent children suffering, unless a proper discussion is allowed to be held and both sides of the story is examined as to how things got to that stage.

A man that has three children with his wife, who has no criminal record, has been married for a while, suddenly turns evil bashing her head over and over again with a skateboard and we are supposed to just accept he is epitome of evil and move on.

You are clearly not intelligent at all. The facts in the OP state that the man has been investigated multiple times in the past for domestic violence, the woman has been found in the past with signs of physical abuse including a bloodied lip, and the marriage has long been strained over financial issues.

How you’ve parlayed all that into “the man acted out of character” is quite strange.

Man has no stable job and is struggling with store work

Wife has a stable job with decent income.

Husband gets jealous and constantly accuses his more successful wife of infidelity and disrespect

Husband pivots to verbal and physical abuse to stamp his dominance and then starts looking for girlfriends himself.

Wife gets fed up and couple gets estranged. Angry and insecure husband then turns to violence.

An oft repeated tale. Sad to see.

Oh, I forgot. Nairaland and Nigerian men jump up and blame the woman.

Cos the demographics over there, which is completely opposite to what you find here, will 100% influence the character of your spouse when they finally settle in. Eg
1. If you have a lazy spouse that you are managing in naija, when you japa, your body go tell you.
2. If your spouse has a tendency to cheat, japa will be their play ground, so find something hold body.
3. If your spouse is bossy and controlling, expect worse when you japa.
4. If you have a selfish partner, God is your strength.
5. If your partner has a temper, your relationship must break or worse when you japa.

Something must be wrong with your head sha.

You see a situation where the man is most certainly at fault and you’re giving silly ‘advice’ to men about possible shortcomings of their wives.

The OP and some of you people in this thread are completely nuts.

You see parents of young, overactive kids that are in church and have no nanny to take care of the kids. So the only way they themselves can focus in God’s house is to provide some form of distraction for the kids so they don’t disturb other worshippers.

These are usually very small kids. Toddlers, even. A 2 year old kid isn’t going to learn anything momentous, and they have many more years ahead for you to do moral and religious instruction.

OP needs to mind their business and focus on the church they went to do.

Celebrities / Re: Nobody Has The Right To Tell Me To Do A DNA Test - Mohbad’s Widow, Wunmi (video) by texazzpete(m): 11:02am On Apr 01
BrighterSyde:

Loopholes everywhere.
1. She is a suspect including Naira Marley and even Mohbad’s father and Mohbad’s friends. As long as one party accuses the other of having a hand in his death who or what are you to exclude her as a suspect.

2. If the child were not to be Mohbad’s that is not conclusive evidence that she killed Mohbad. Any idiot should know this. But if the child isn’t Mohbad’s then it opens up another legal battle on who gets to keep his royalties from his life’s work. So sweeping away a dna test can never be done. It must be done.

3. If there is no will then the estate goes to his wife and son. True. But he doesn’t need to do much to get a court order. All he needs do is to claim she is a suspect and push the motive that she killed him to hide that fact so his estate could be hers. Obtaining a dna test on this grounds does not impede justice in any way. If it turns out that the boy is truly Mohbad’s then it’s a win-win for Wunmi which is why I don’t understand the idiots saying she should not have a test done. If it turns out that it isn’t Mohbad’s son then she has a case to answer. But saying that since Mohbad never doubted the child then nobody should request a dna is illiterate reasoning.

4. So that a man accepts a child is enough evidence that that child is his? This is the dumbest thing you have said but I will answer you intelligently.

Have you read the story of Geremi the Chelsea footballer who for 12 years celebrated his children as his not knowing that they weren’t until a dna test showed it just last week? You should feel stupid by now but hold on.

Last year a man walked happily with his family to my hospital to have genotype and blood group test done for him, his wife and three children. No suspicions at all. He stated that his reason for it was just so they know and have it recorded in their cards. Turns out that none of the kids were his. But for 8 years of marriage he treated them as his.

Now how on earth does treating them like his own make them “legally and for all intents and purposes” his children?

It’s ok to feel comoletely stupid now.

You’ve just typed multiple paragraphs of dumbness here

1. The Police who are investigating the case do not consider her a suspect. You and VeryDarkMan say she is. Feel free to go and hire a private detective if you want.

2. The child is Mohbad’s. He legally acknowledged the boy as his son. You should be asking “if the child is not Mohbad’s biological son’. At the moment, For all legal intents and purposes, the boy is his sole heir

3. Im not sure which school you went to, but you believe the man can - on his own - declare someone a ‘suspect’ and demand the door orders then to undergo a procedure? Without the support of the police or government? Especially when the court knows the procedure has no bearing on determining how and where the murder was carried out? Are you on crack?

4. Geremi legally and publicly acknowledged the children as his. Until he found out via DNA test, then publicly renounced the children and split from them. This is the key step, and this is where you know you’re a dullard. Because you forgot this step happened. Most certainly he’s removed them from his will. And if he hasn’t, they still wont be able to inherit since he’s clearly disavowed them.

That didn’t happen in Mohbad’s case.

I get that you people distrust women. That’s fine. You’re free to test your kids DNA when you have some. Fathers have the right to. But I’m yet to see a case where grandfathers will be the one demanding DNA tests on their grandchildren.

A man who hurriedly buried his son in a cramped coffin, tried to steal his son’s only plot of land from his grandson, greedily exfiltrated his son’s clothes for his personal collection and has multiple times expressed a deep desire for his son’s property is the one you’re defending and claiming is interested in solving his son’s murder. Are you this gullible in real life, or just dumb?

She can’t. Even the courts will throw that out as a waste of judicial process since the man has no history of mental instability so far.

He has a stake in the matter. He can simply allege that she killed Mohbad to hide the fact that the boy is not his son so that she can inherit his estate. She is expected to deny this after which the court can ask for a dna test to settle the matter once and for all

The problem for you people is that you’re not leaning on common sense here.

Even if DNA shows the boy is not his biological son, it doesn’t change the fact that Mohbad acknowledged the boy publicly as his son. So inheritance is not threatened. And the Wife herself remained legally married to Mohbad at his time of death so she will still remain his inheritor too.

Additionally, an adverse DNA test does not in any way implicate her in his death.

The law does not work like SuperStory, sorry to burst your bubble. Culpability in murder requires a case being established. Clearly the autopsy result and the police investigation do not implicate the wife in any way. And women who birth biological children for men historically have had no qualms killing their husbands.

But we should also ask why you people don’t feel distaste that the old man is so concerned about his son’s property that should not in any way belong to him.

BrighterSyde:

Yes it can. If she says she won’t do the test then Mohbad’s father can get a court injunction ordering her to release the baby to a neutral party which can be the police so they can conduct the test in 3 different centres.

He cannot. He has no stake in the matter, and the paternity discussion is solely between the legal parents of the boy.

It’s like saying Wunmi can use the courts to order the man to do mental health tests since he’s been acting really weird since his son died.

It’s easy to spot a child talking. If you were an adult and understand how the law works you will know that a court order is all it takes to have her release that boy for a dna test. But you are obviously ignorant of how things work so you’ll say rubbish thinking you are making sense.

Again, you’re the child here. Not only is she NOT a suspect, even if the child were to not be Mohbad’s, it’s still a massive logical leap to assume that as a reason for murder.
Tell me, child. Who’s going to obtain the court order? The father of Mohbad? he cannot convince any court that that’s any business of his. Mohbad’s estate will go to the wife if there’s no will.

There is significant evidence that Mohbad accepted and celebrated the boy as his son when he was alive, so for all intents and legal purposes, the boy is his son.

You know poorly educated people when you see them post.

Mohbad was cursed with the worst parents possible sha.

The dad most of all. The day after the boy died, the father rushed to bury him without his wife present. So desperate was he to bury him that he stuffed him into a small coffin, breaking his neck in the process. And then right when they were burying him, the father told the press that Mohbad promised to dash him his land.

Next thing we knew the father had grabbed his son’s clothes and started wearing them.

The only people who support the dad are the poverty stricken people in both body and spirit. You know them. Every single last one of them is inflicted with the curse of poverty. With no exception. The bone deep, chilling poverty that makes people see their children as ATM machines and makes old people work to cheat their grandsons of their inheritance.

You can’t even have the sense or morality to ask why a pregnant woman had to be bundled from her home in the South East, driven to Abuja under escort and then badgered into signing a contrived statement over spurious allegations. Can your Oga (because I assume the man is paying you for this nonsense defence) prove his claims of her being part of a criminal syndicate in court? Can he prove his allegations of Blackmail?

Erisco is on TV publicly claiming you can add water to the paste and eat it with bread as a jam. His products have no single detail about the sugar content in them. There is every indication that Chioma is right…that the amount of sugar in the product is elevated above the levels of other products in the market.

Go and tell your Oga to stop harming his own business by being a national and international embarrassment. Also tell him to break down the sugar content in his product so customers can make an informed decision.

Don’t vex me today. You toadies make me sick.
