HorlarJP: I am applying for the Canada study visa but this time outside of Nigeria , do I need to pay for the biometrics again or just the application fee and visa fee. If you had made payments previously and is reapplying, you make payment for only application fee which is same as visa application fee |

TheDarkGamer: Yes, University of Alberta. I have accepted the offer. Okay. What intake? You are on track, get your application together, your SOP, other necessary documents and POF. Get help from this platform, wirh the bright minds of Gurus and firsthand experience from everybody in putting a convincing and strong application to IRCC. Ask you questions and read the thread for information. There are several young people like you here processing their applications by themselves. Do It Yourself(DIY), if you can. It will end in praise. |

TheDarkGamer: I understood that. However, due to lack of understanding, I contacted an agent and now I am still doing the same thing. So essentially, what I'm applying for is student visa/permit. This will be what an agent will do right? Yes, what you are about to apply for is student visa/permit. I presume you already have been accepted into a designated learning institute, and you have accepted the offer of admission by the DLI. |

lolathegenie: Good morning people, please i have a question how do people upload information like IELTS, upfront medical proof, statement of purpose, proof of employment along with their application? I don't see the option to upload all that. Or do you just merge all of them together and submit it under the Client Information section of the application? I just need to clarify. Thanks You arrange and merge documents together, then upload in client section. Information like you educational documents, birth certificate, employment letter, stubs, and other client relevant documents, you will upload in client section. |

Pinkey2021: Amen. That’s the spirit. My small advice to everyone still awaiting PPR and hasn’t done Medicals or ordered for their GCMS notes is to do so immediately.
My GCMS note was practically empty save for an update that was done on the 16th of June!
Shalom! Which of the gcms did you ordered? |

TheDarkGamer: Can someone explain the difference between a study permit and a student visa? I know that I'll be issued a study permit upon arrival in Canada and the visa enables me to travel. However, do I apply for them together or separately? Any help? What you are applying for is a Student Visa, which at the long run allows you get a study permit when the Visa is approved. While applying, should you state your application as for study permit/ student visa, either is acceptable and understood by the VOs and the embassy. However, when you receive a passport request, your passport gets stamped and you receive your visa, while your study permit will be issued at the point of entry when you are to enter into Canada. |

TheDarkGamer: I just registered an account on the IRCC website. I selected the option that I haven't done medicals by an approved physician. I have some documents to upload. Do I just do the medicals in an approved hospital, or will I receive notification from them?
How do I upload my printed documents. Should I take pictures of them and upload?
What document should suffice for proof of funds? Bank statements? Aren't those rather long and too tedious to be uploaded? Any ideas?
CC Thaiy ekulu77 Mofolam Shupy and any others. There is section foe documents to be uploaded, kindly scan all the documents fie each section, be sure to compress that it does not surpass the 4MB size for each required information you providing the documents. Once you have compressed the scanned documents, you can then upload them. You can also check to see formats for uploads, it mostly PDFs. All best with your uploads. |

OCT202020: To the best of my knowledge, there's no difference between LOE and SOP, both servers the same purpose, which is a detailed and well crafted explanation of your application, since there's no in-person interview. Just my thought. Actually, there is difference between SOP and LOE. You can get this information in page 1 of part 19. The SOP is your statement of purpose, and it is mostly needed and used by first time Visa applicants. The LOE, is the Letter of Explanation used by reapplying applicants, here they try to deal with concerns raised in the first refusal by providing information that will allay concerns. |

maestro09: Please should I transfer my funds from my salary account - which is not the MBS platform to another of my account that I rarely use but on the MBS platform.
Is it advisable to do that and then provide an updated statement of account for salary account showing that I made the transaction from my account just for the sole purpose of generating an MBS.
I am considering this as it seems IRCC is mainly focused on those with the full NSE requirements.
Note: I submitted my application with IELTS of band 8 and I also received a request letter for MBS to which I responded with the same traditional account statement alongside a letter explaining that my bank isn’t in the MBS platform.
Please help. Provide both SOAs so the transfer made to the MBS account can be seen, and known as yours. It will end in praise |

shupy: Right about what? Was she the one that filled your other forms? Please go through the forms filled on your behalf. If for any reason you're able to get away with this, the implication might take effect in future. You don't actually have to download. The one already downloaded and filled, can be edited. If you need a download link, just create a study permit application with your account. Download form and delete application. She might not have the downloaded copy to edit, downloading another might be her option for correction. |

Which one should I choose. What is confusing me is that their website is displaying we will pay using naira card (ATM card) . I await responses Choose the paystack, it will provide you a page for card info, so payment can be initiated. You will get a confirmation for payment made in your email. All the best |

SweetJJ: I think this is true. I submitted with mbs, IELTS result and upfront medical. My eligibility review started 2weeks after (3days after my biometrics), I guess because I did biometrics late maybe it would have even started earlier.
Application submitted May 14th, I am waiting for PPR already When did you get your biometrics done? Did you receive an email when your eligibility started? I submitted my application on the 15th, did biometrics 18th, and upfront medicals today, 26th. Eligibility is yet to start. It will end in praise for us all. |

TheDarkGamer: Aside from the consent letter, how do I convince the visa officer of my home ties? What should I include, to serve as strong home ties?
What I have now are:
Family pictures, landed properties, family members' birth certificates, mother has a government job in the university, parents poultry and fish farm (lol, I don't know if that's helpful), mother's supermarket, etc. Should all this be written in a separate letter?
What more can help to strengthen it?
Is Study plan the same as statement of purpose?
Thank you. All the things you mentioned can serve as home ties, plus there no need for separate letters, just include evidence for these and state how you did have to come back home for them. Yes the study plan is same as statement of purpose. It will end in praise |

Thanks! It will get updated, alternatively, you can upload and email the e-medical slip he was given. Congratulations to your son. |

1Girllykdat: Hello everyone. Please I'm in a fix & I need your advice .
Prior to my application for a research-based msc programme in Canada, I reached out to a prof who confirmed she'd be taking in 2 graduate students and also confirmed that our research interests aligned but wouldn't take anybody yet till the academic committee and potential supervisors reviewed all applications.
4 months after applying (may 2021), I heard nothing from the school. So, I mailed the graduate co-ordinator inquiring about the outcome of my application and the professor replied instead.
The prof told me she was finalizing her research group for fall and asked if I'd be able to talk over zoom. We had the meeting and we talked about my research proposal and said she'd be taking me in and giving me the emails of her other students and would speak to the graduate co-ordinator about funding as I am an international student.
With her word, I assumed I was in only for me to again mail the graduate co-ordinator in June (as time for visa application was going) and then be told the prof isn't taking in students again.
I was shocked and asked if there was a mix-up. I mailed the supervisor and she said she was sorry and that I misunderstood her. That she was torn as I am an excellent fit for her lab but that she is already taking in 2 phd students and now at her maximum capacity.
I mailed the graduate co-ordinator and asked if it was possible to switch to course work instead. She said that though my application had already been denied (cos of the prof), I would be considered.
But now the thing is next week is July and I don't even know when I would hear from the school. Plus neither I nor my close relatives have my school fees. I thought I would get in through research which is why I applied for only research programmes.
I met the minimum requirement of 75% btw . Had 82% in undergrad.
Does anybody have an idea how I can "appeal" to the professor or go about the situation? There is no appealing that will make her take you into her laboratory, she was callous to have given you hope only to deny you entry to her lab. I quite sympathize with you situation, you need a sponsor or you can quite defer and seek funding next session. |
